I purchased Britannia Rusk few days ago. My child opened the packet and ate 3-4 rusks and immediately he started vomitting. After that when I checked the rusk packet it was smelling very bad and Kerosine oil smell was coming from it. When I rushed to Doctor he told me the case of food poisoning.
When I tried to contact Britannia company toll free no. there is always no response. Now I request you to take strict action against such company which befools its customers. I am putting all details of Rusk Packet here.

    I am a retailer had purchased britannia digestive buiscuits on 09.07.2011 from a distributor of brittania company named Sudesh Trading Company on which customers are offered free daily tiffin boxes on every pack.
    But the distributor has not provided us this free boxes to be given to the customers. Inspite of frequent reminders we have still not received this free tiffin boxes from the distributor on the grounds that Britannia Co. has not given to them as informed by distributor.
    We are not able to sell this buiscuits to our customers because all customers are obviously demanding free boxes.
    So i have complaint for Sudesh Trading Co. & Bitannia Co. for this.
    I hope i'll get an early feedback for this or else i would have to go a step further for legal proceedings.

      Upon opening the one pack of biscuits from the air tight pacet (twin packet), the biscuits had holes as if infested with insects. After confirming the date of packing as 5th of February 2011, bearing lot no 12238, the biscuits were consumed this evening (7.40 pm the 21st of May, 2011) by me and my family. The biscuits induced nausea and vomitting to me and wife. My wife being a medical doctor responded immediately and treated avoiding any further complications. This incident had been a rude shock about a famous preferred product by all from a highly reputed company.
      The other pack of the twin packed air tight wrapper is available for inspection and examinations.

        Britannia Rusk quality is not good at all.It varies from packet to packet.In some packets they are good and properly baked but in some packets they are just like a toasted bread.
        We can't except this kind of variation in the same product from company like Britannia.

        I am staying in bazpur, udham singh nagar, uttarkand this is very costly city,
        in last two or three day i m searching for a bisuits and raks for my son, but i surprise to see that every item is expired according to the manfucturing packiing.

        Sir, i request you to take proper action agisnt the confectiory shop. I m sorry to say that i not able to take the picture of the same.

          COMPLAINT – FOUND HAIR INSIDE THE BRITANNIA BISCUIT AS ON 30-12-10

          Sir, I bought Britannia fibre Biscuit from the market at South Moti Bagh -2 New Delhi 110021,
          My seven years son took a half bite,suddenly he saw black hair found with in the Biscuite,He started Vomating & we had to took him to the Nursing Home for the First aid,
          Doctors gave an injuction of ( food Poisining ) to my son,
          I must say this is the ridiculous from the part of such an reputated company.
          My whole family got disturbed , We made a telephone call to Customer Care but got no response.
          My Wife is with HOME MINISTRY ( GOVT. OF INDIA) & I AM A JOURNALIST IN PRESS TRUST OF INDIA.
          Wherever we shared this incident , they suggested us to put up this matter into the press & you tube etc.
          Kindly do the needful .

            Dear Sir
            I' have brought a Britannia cake gift Pack of 100 Rupees on Diwali. It contains 5 pak of different varient cake packs which is 70 gm of weight & one pack is 40 gm. 70 gm pack MRP is 12 rupees & 40 gm pack MRP is 5 rupee. Total 390 gm pack MRP is 100 rupee as the produt value is 65 rupees.

            My objection---- Is the rest of 45 rupees for packing? is anybody here to listen my Query?

              Hi,

              This is to inform you people that at your Reliance Fesh stores the so called staffs are very rude and also big cheaters.I purchased some Britannia Good day biscuits,and on a particular flavour packet it was written FREE GLASS BOWLS but at the cash counter they told me that bols are not available after asking why so as the offer is still on they very rudely replied whther I was there for biscuits or bowls.Probably they have taken all the bowls to there own houses!

              Will you tell me that this the is the way you treat your customers?and also I want to ask you that what is the reason to keep such illiterate and cheaters at your respective stores?

                  My child was eating JimJam biscuit (once it was his favourate). Suddenly i was shocked to see the quality of biscuit was too bad to eat. Jam enriched too hard and rough with bitter smell in it.

                  I think companies are just running into a business of making more money by giving cheap quality products.

                  Many people just ignore these things and throw the products.

                  For the past 2 decades, Milk Bikis have been our tea-time biscuit. Of late, we find that the packs ending with Lot No. 38 are of a very sub-standard quality.

                  Wonder what the quality personnel at Britannia are doing..

                  britannia kids active — foul smelling kids milk

                  milk drink for kids called kids active by brittania,when we opened the bottle very attractively packed had very foul smell ,something like a dead rat,this was suppose to be a drink for kids i cant imagine what would have happened to my son if he had drank it.
                  I like all Britannia Biscuits. Recently the quality of Britannia Biscuits is getting worst. Yesterday while having Britannia Biscuits Vita Marie biscuit ..i found a HAIR STRAND mixed in it. Please look into this issue. And take care about it as mostly small kids consumes your products.
                  I have purchase britannia mary biscuit and found that it is burnt all arround it edge I dont know whom to complain

                    Dear Sir / Madam,

                    This is a complaint regarding dirty strings found in your Wheat brown
                    bread from BRITANNIA that I bought in the morning on Tuesday, July 06,
                    2010 from Avas-Vikas in Rudrapur city, Udham Singh Nagar (Uttrakhand).

                    The details of Bread packet bought are: Lot no: 4 3 F 14 Use by date:
                    08/07/2010
                    I sat down to have my breakfast & had 2 slices of bread & suddenly
                    found that there were strings in the bread that I swallowing, It had
                    chocked my throat for a few minutes. Then I vomited for quite some
                    time after which I came in normal condition.

                    I tried calling your customer care no. [protected] (printed on the
                    back side of the bread packet) in the morning itself again & again but
                    no one responded to the phone call.

                    I took rest whole afternoon & missed all my urgent tender meetings &
                    other routine work. At last, in the evening I went to the retailer
                    from whom I had bought the bread. He then directed me to the
                    distributer of that area. I then went to the distributer then he asked
                    me to submit the damaged packet & have a fresh one. But he was in no
                    position to register the complaint.

                    Finally I tried calling the customer care again & fortunately my call
                    was received by Ms. Priya to whom I recalled whole incident then she
                    gave me the complaint registration no. which is 8788. She had asked me
                    to keep the sample & show to the executive who will visit my place
                    tomorrow.

                    I have suffered whole day just because of some carelessness from your
                    quality department. I could have gone into some major illness but I
                    took preventive measure for food poisoning after have a talk with my
                    family doctor. I had suffered losses as I was unable to attend my
                    important tender meeting (a new business oppourtunity I had missed) &
                    other routine work.

                    I had talks with Mr. RAKESH KAPOOR @ [protected] & Mr. KALOL SENGUPTA,
                    who told me that their executive will visit my place for quality
                    check. In response to the complaint that we have registered, a panel
                    of quality experts headed by Mr. ROHIT KUMAR SHUKLA (Quality Assurance
                    Manager), Britannia Rudrapur, visited my place to see the defected
                    breads. I showed them the sample, & they agreed to the fact that bread
                    were defective. They tried to destroy but I stopped them from doing
                    do. Then they offered me a basket full of biscuits & told to close
                    this matter here only.

                    I was very dissatisfied with the kind of response I have received.

                    Kindly help me on this matter.

                    I purchased BRITANNIA BREAD 340 gm from market Siwani Distt. Bhiwani Haryana on which MRP 11-/ for Delhi, Rs 12-/ other state & Rs. 14-/ for Hill Stations. Shiv Kiryana Store & Deepak pan Bhandar & all other shopkeeper in City Siwani are charging Rs. 14-/ for 340 gm bread & similarly for big size they are charging Rs. 27-/ i.e Hill station charges. This is injustice with all resident those use BRITANNIA BREAD. Action needed------- JAGO GRAHAK JAGO

                      The issue was reported 15 days back that I purchased a chocolate cake which was very hard and not suitable for consumption, mail was send from my side and call was received, first a person threatens for bad results if matter is reported on higher level, but when I warned him that I am a legal consultant than a lady called up and requested to collect sample. The cake was given to person for lab test but till date nobody has reported about anything. I think person was in feeling that once he has taken cake from me nothing can be done but I want to make you people understand that I have more pieces of cake which I am going to present to media as well as Food and adulteration Deptt.. You think that you are very smart and you can run away from your mistakes but understand that nobody can play with customer rights.

I am Satish m from Chennai, my contact number is noted below, and here I want to call your attention towards your products, which since decades has been known for its quality and nutrition. We consume your products which are available in the market with faith and confidence since for the last several years,

I recently purchased your company product Gooday Biscuit Pack weight 54g, Packed on 16/03/10, Lot No. 21219,(Rich Butter Cookies) on Dt. 01/04/2010, I purchased 4 packets when i opened the pack, I was surprised to find that some packets consists of only 6 pieces remaining has 7 pieces.

                      3. I have lost my trust to purchase your products any further. The specimen is with us as a proof of your spurious quality control,I am also having a pack which is not yet open. please advice as to why I should not take legal action through the media and consumer forum, I expect an early reply from your end.

                        I am a regular buyer of britannia cakes since 2 years............since last 6 mnths cakes are not fresh in the packets they are very dry and they look not fresh........yesterday onbly i purchased ur cake frm sabka bazaar dated april 24 2010.............but it was again very much dry frm inside.............i boought 2 packets all were dry...........befor dat i boought frm another market place it was same dry n unfresh..............u r spoiling ur quality.......i think i should stop buying it now...........

                          Dear Sir,

                          I had lodged a complaint with Britannia Industries Ltd (Complaint No. 7749) about poor quality of biscuit manufactured by them.

                          Only once the company representative Mr. Nandakumar called and informed that a rep will visit me for more details. But no action taken as of now. The matter is pending since 45-60 days.

                          The biscuit had very strong black spots and I had to clean with liquid soap. It is a serious health hazard.

                          In the interest of the public, request your intervention or kindly let me know how to proceed further to get explanation / apology letter from Britannia Industries Ltd.

                          I Anand from Bangalore, yestarday i purchase Britannia Marie Gold Biscut @ 10Rs.It was astonished to see Insect like in Biscuit.We trust in yours product but seeing this, we can say Britannia has become Poor quality.Date of Manufacture[protected] I have taken photos for proof,

                          i purchased brown bread from mohali sector 71 on 9/03/2015, when i opened i get simple white bread and i got allergy from that, it was completely wrong product

                            BRITANNIA INDUSTRIES LIMITED — HUMAN HAIR IN FOOD PRODUCT-BISCUITS

                            I already submit this complain to britannia industries ltd.& ask to take some action on quality deptt. Of company. I think there must be compensation to customer in this type of complains. Lot no. Of packet is 24195 dt 09.02.2009, which is already inform to the company.
                            I bought a tiger biscuit In our area a retial shop is selling Lot No.81238 Pkd 18.4.09 which has been expired, more over the biscuits become fungus, moisture and bad smell.
                            I asked to stop the sale of this lot, he is not accepting this.
                            How fast you take this action??????

                            FUNGUS FOUND IN NUTRI CHOIC BISCUITS

                            I had purchased a britannia nutri choice digestive biscuits a couple of days ago, but i was shocked to find it completely infected by fungii. It was manufactured on 21/12/2014, batch no. B121438, lot no.621313. Purchased on 12/02/2015.

                              I AM A REGULAR CUSOMER OF YOUR BRITANNIA MARRIE GOLD , WHICH IS A PART OF OUR DAILY BREAKFAST .

                              I HAD PURCHASED FEW BRITANNIA M. GOLD PACKETS OF 304gm. FROM D'MART NERUL BRANCH ON 14/10/09 WHICH WERE BELONGED TO LOT NO-11226 WITH PACKING DATE-25/09/09.

                              AFTER 3-4 DAYS WHEN MY WIFE WAS FEEDING BISCUITS FROM THIS PACKET TO MY 2 YEARS BABY SHE FOUND SOME GLASS PIECES IN SAME ,WHICH WERE IN AROUND 1CM LENGTH & 2 MM DIA SHAPE IN A BISCUIT.IF SHE DIDN'T OBSERVED IT THIS COULD BE INJURIOUS TO MY BABY.

                              AS A LOYAL CUSTOMER OF YOUR PRODUCT I CAN UNDERSTAND THIS MISTAKE FROM YOUR PRODUCTION DEPARTMENT ,BUT I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED BY THIS.

                                  My family has got around 10 gift packs of Britannia on the occasion of Diwali. In all of the packs the price charged to us was much more than the quoted price (M.R.P) of the products inside. For example a gift pack which costed us Rs 125 has products of just Rs 70. On the pack it has been mentioned the MRP includes the price of gift carton/packaging. Moreover the gift pak with MRP Rs 100 has products worth Rs 80 and the packs worth Rs 125 and Rs 150 had prodcuts worth Rs 70 and Rs Rs 100 respectively. How can this be justified?

                                  I am a food technologist by profession and currently working in a reputed MNC. This is clearly against business & professional ethics. I do understand that certain packaging material costs more than the ingredients cost but the situation stated above is certainly not acceptable. The margins here have been charged over and above the MRP of the products. No carton box comes for Rs 55. We have got other gift packs also like fruit juices from Dabur, Pepsi, chocolates from Cadbury's etc and all of them were selling the gift hampers either at the same price as that of the products or bit more which a consumer would not hesitate to pay like Rs 5 or Rs 10.

                                  Request you to take an immediate action on this. I am also lodging a consumer complaint on Britannia consumer cell regarding this.

                                    I like to bring your kind notice that, on 07.08.2009 I purchased four packet of Britannia Good day Rich Butter biscuit from a shop named “Paresh Stores, Govandi, Mumbai printed on the packet was 54 grms.which was below weight it was 41gms. I being notice to the shop owner. Shop owner Mr. Paresh bhai told me that he got supply from distributor. I purchased that packet of below weight of Rs. 5.00 each. Therafter Paresh Bhai gave me Marketing person of Company name Rafiq mobile -[protected] / [protected] but there is no proper reply from company Representative. I have see all packet were at below weight my packet was 41gms instate of 54gms & was shock to know that such reputated Company also mislead the consumer & misrepresented the product weight & it show that company is well aware about it there are weight complain notice is there 275gms in june 09 in complain book itself.
                                    I want justice from you. A reputed firm is cheating general public and it to be stopped.
                                    I will have no option other than to take legal action at Company Cost 0r file Public Interest Litigation in Suprem court under Constitution Article 32
                                    The Company is not giving assurance that such mistake will not be repeated instated of they are repeating it again & again & there are complain in consumer forum against Company.

                                      This is in subject matter that i have purchased two packets of Britania - Tiger Buiscuits

                                      1. Britania - Tiger Pine Apple Pkd date - 06.06.2009
                                      2. Britania - Tiger Elaiche Pkd date - 06.04.2009

                                      However, it is interesting to note that the same bears the same lot no. 22315.

                                      However, i have come accross the following complaint already registered earlier by some other person the extract of which is mentioned herein
                                      HUMAN HAIR IN FOOD PRODUCT-BISCUITS
                                      I already submit this complain to Britannia Industries Ltd.& ask to take some action on quality deptt. of company. I think there must be compensation to customer in this type of complains. Lot no. of packet is 24195 dt 09.02.2009, which is already inform to the company.


                                      I would like to know that how is it possible that products of two different dates and particularly the month bears the same lot no.

                                      Also, lot no. of packet manufactured in February is 24195
                                      & that of June/April is 22315.

                                        Dear Sir,
                                        I like to bring your kind notice that, on 03.06.2009 I purchased four packet of Britannia cream Craker biscuit from a shop named “Priya enterprises” of 23/1E, Maharaja Tagore Road, Dhakuria, Kolkata – 700 031. Three of them net weight is 262grm to 264grms but net weight printed on the packet was 275grms. I being notice to the shop owner. Shop owner Mr. Sudhir told me that he got supply from distributor. I purchased that three packet of below weight of Rs. 21.00 each. Through Email I bring notice of the company. On 10.06.09 in evening at about 8.30pm Mr. Raju came and want to talk about below weight packet. I demand his identity card as proof but Mr. Raju failed to produce the identification. His approach was clear, he wanted to give me four new packet against the three below weight packet. After I refuse the proposal rang to his boss and asked me talk with him, he denied to say his name and request to accept the offer, when I turned down his proposal he told me that I can take any steps what ever I wish.
                                        I want justice from you. A reputed firm is cheating general public and it to be stopped.

                                        I had started an agency for Britannia Bread in December 2009 in Jaipur. But I had to close it after working for 3 months. As there was not any support from the Company. But the worst situation I ve faced from this organization is that after returning back 50 Crates, it is more than 2 months have gone, I did not get my security amount back.                                         Dear Sir,

                                        It is a matter of great concern that I am using your bread for the last few years at my home.

                                        However, recently it has been observed that your dealer at Panipat is not serious in providing fresh bread to the customers at Panipat.

                                        On dated 23.09.11 ( In the morning), I purchased your bread from our local shopkeeper ( Model Town, Panipat) but when I opened the packing ,it was found that the quality of the bread was not upto the mark. Immediately, it was explained the local shopkeeper ( Mr. Vijay).

                                        In the evening when, the supplier of the dealer ( Mr, Sandeep) was arrived to supply the bread then in my presence, the quality of the bread was shown to him. But, instead to listening the grievance, it was my surprised & shocking that he misbehaved & said that since company don't listen our complaint too therefore he can't do any thing. In turn,he advised to put it to the street’s dogs if you can't use it.

                                        Really, such words from a dealer's suppliers of a repute company like yours are not expected at all.

                                        In view of this, I approach your good office to please look into the matter seriously & urgently so that the reputation of the company is maintained & your customers may not be treated like this & good quality product is only be supplied.

                                        You are well aware that supplying sub standard eating-material is serious offence.

                                        I hope you will take appropriate action in the matter.
