I am residing in Kelambakkam. There is no traffic signal facility in the Kelambakkam. Hence daily a number of accidents are accuring in this area. No traffic police in this area. There is violation of driving due to improper crossing facilities. Need to take immediate steps to avoid this.

Yes I agree, they are not only corrupt but crude and rude mouthing expletives on many innocent people except when you mention a high ranking person. They care a hoot even if you are educated and law abiding citizen - they care much less.As long as the"ayyah" is there around you have no alternatives, except to pay and flee from the site.

Most of the Traffic Polices(95%) like this method.They are cheating to public. I am also seeing regularly at Ponds company to thiruneermalai Junction (Pallavaram ) They are collection bribery.

You and I are not born to correct the corrupt system. Most policemen join the force to make bribe and no matter what you do, they will milk you at some point of time. My name is Selvan. This incident took place near Ashok Pillar signal chennai at 4.20 P.M 17/07/2011. While i was crossing the signal a group of police caught me and verified my licence and insurance. Everything was perfect with me. Then he asked 1500 rs. I asked why sir everything is perfect with me. Then he said "if you are not going to give money i will book you under not obeying signal, i know whome to get money. I had only 500 rs in my purse. I showed my purse to him. He took that money and gave my bike key.
Please someone stop these kind of illeagel activities by chennai police.

Police personal now take new idea. Now they have handheld device. They catch two wheelers and threaten by telling huge amount of fine. They may give bill for towing even your bike did not undergo it eventhough towing charge is only for 4 wheelers. The towing charge is to driver and an internal expense and they do something with it and take that money.

There were 4 policemen around me and threatened and abuse etc. when I questioned, they are even handling physically and thereaten I will suffer later. They collected 475 (100 fine for crossing signal and 375 for towing!!!). Then I give Rs.500 and they are not ready to give back 25. Then start abuse. Then when I argued he gives 30 rupess by telling take it. If it is legal, a 5 rupee loss to them

There was an old policeman who stood apologistically there and eventhough he is a beneficiary. I wish I had a gun to kill them.

Chennai Traffic police are so ARROGANT and INSANE.. Even when they are paid good salary and after getting so many facilities from Government, still they beg like anything. Even Beggars are far more superior than these Traffic cops. I hope they don't lead a peaceful life. They're ruining the name of POLICE like anything. At least they shouldn't be given the uniform to wear. Shame on them. :(

I also had the same experiance. Traffic police are not bothering about the public busses like MTC, TNSTC and also private company staff busses.

Private insurance corporation — Traffic Rules violation in chennai

I am Vijayakumar NP. I am from Gopichettipalayam. Currently I am Chennai for past 6 months. Actually I am an insurance agent for the private corporation. Daily i am roaming almost 6 to 10 areas in the city to meet my clients. The real incident happened in Chennai ECR road. The incident is the software company busses and MTC busses are violating the traffic rules by going over speed around 90km/hr.Group of police were watching the vehicles near VGP and finding only the peoples who are all coming in Cars and Bikes and stopping them for over speed even if they are coming in correct speed also. They are not bothered about the software company busses and also the MTC busses at the same point.
Two days back i had seen a very bad accident near Koyambedu because of over speed of TNSTC bus. A lady slept down into the TNSTC bus front wheel and she died in spot. I was coming behind the bus and the accident happened because of the TNSTC bus over speed. If Traffic police controls the over speed vehicles in cities it will never happen in the future I fell. Traffic police are taking action for the two wheelers and cars and they take action for MTC, TNSTC and Software Company busses the accidents will b reduced. Please consider my complaint and save the human life.

In our street ( Sajja munusamy street, oldwashermenpet, chennai 600021) two wheelers are going at 30 to 40 Km speed in the holidays (Sunday) and three to four persons in a bike

Generally in our street chidrens will play every day.

Due to the over speed of the two wheelers chidrens are getting suffer.

Some aged persons are also getting accident due to over speed of the bikes

Please take a nessary action on the above matter and save the childrens and aged persons from the accident

WIPRO — Faulty traffic lighting system

Dear Sir
Traffic light system at PATNI, YMCA and Paradise / SD road junctions are outsourced to WIPRO . Systems are awfully designed . Green lights for other direction come out even when half of the vehicles from the opposite direction are yet to cross. The softwares and the so called meritorious software engineers are at its worst. GHMC must file a criminal negligence case against the software giant.
They will not do it. I am doing it to save some lives in near future.

Its really a racking situation and its high time for us to take care of these .I own a kerala registered car and spend minimum Rs 200 a week for feeding these stupids just because of KL registration.Once they come to know that I am not from chennai, they find fake reasons for getting bribe.As you said it is painful, not because of the amount but becaues of getting cheated.Since there is no one to help us to put an end to this situation, Let us pray to god that for whomever these spend our hard earned money, be destroyed and that Let that traffic police men suffer rest of his life.

ON 22/12/09 around 1.14pm(noon) i have being stopped on demellous road near haji community society by traffic sub inspector(surgunam) belonging to pullionthope traffic wing .they asked for driving licensce and paper produced on demand for my bike (SUPER SPLENDOUR)(TN 05 V 8112)all records were correct .on inspection there was fault with my number plate on rear side it was TN O5 G 8112.which is an officence i said the traffice si that it is over writed on "G"AS "V".when bike was registred .the mistaked had happened while painting number plate.now recently when their rainfall in chennai the over writed "V" splashed out in water and half "G" was visible .i explained him but he was not ready to listen any thing he sezied my bike and said me that you are fraud and cheating goverment with faulty number plate took bike to "G3" station.said come to station by 6pm.when i checked with station on no one was avalialble.
ON 23/12/2009 when i was to staion i meet si asked about my bike he said to remove number plate change that "G" TO "V" .i did it 20 mins and showed him.then
he said to give letter that number plate is up dated and give up R C & INSURANCE xerox.and he then charged fine of 1050rs, under act 184.177, gave a reciept and said me take me the bike.when my mistake is under rule CMV RULE 50.then for what reason the fine is collected under this us 184.177 so it clear indication of cheating.

My name is kishore.I have been riding bikes for atleast 11 years now.It has become an habit for the Chennai city police cops to cheat the bike riders and charge them extra money.I am writing down all my incidents which has happened to me.30.06.08 me and my friend had dinner and wine in Hotel Harrisons and coming in the harrington road around 11 p.m.There was regular vehicular checkups going on the roads as usual and we were checked for drunk and driving.We were caught for drinking and was asked to stand aside till the SI comes.We waited till 12.30 P.M. Mr.Anbarasu who was with the Chetpet police station and handling traffic came.He demanded Rs.500/- from all the offenders.I dont usually carry cash in hand and i was having only cards.He took me and other 3 offenders to the chetpet police station.we were remanded there till 4.30 A.M.
Me and my friend decided to pay the fine and not give him bribe.We asked him to file a case against me.Which didnt happen till 5 A.M.And finally Mr.Anbarasu agreed to leave us out of the station on condition.that we will pay Rs 2500/- and leave the bike in the police station.He also instructed us to come near Anna Arch to pay the fine in the mobile court around 3 p.m.We went there to pay the fine(which we have already paid).To the shock of my life the judge pronounced only Rs1250/- as fine.I asked the judge why we are getting fined for drinking wine.He said that Tamil Nadu police have no facilities to find out how much i have drunk and to access my alcohol content.I was neither tested for drunken driving nor i was taken to the hospital to get a certificate.I came out of the court and asked the Mr.Anbarasan where is the remaining money.The answer he gave me really got me into a shock."You come to the station tonight by 7 P.M, and i will say why i wont give you the remaining cash".So this how Citizen of India is treated at the end of the day.If i am a son of politician or son of police officer, will this guy Anbarasan dare to do the same to me.Why are the rules and regulations made??? Is it made for the rich people, politician and policemen and their son, for them to evade the rules and eat the hard earned money of the WE CITIZENS. to So what do the Police think of themselves?Is it right to abuse a Tax paying Citizen Of India.If the police is there to catch the offenders, with whom we have to complain when the police are the habitual offenders.
This is one of the incidents.Me being an event manager is forced to travel on bike in the late nights after the shows.Everyday they stop me in Chromepet-Chitlapakkam Flyover(where i reside).I show the proper documents and licence and i am not drunk.But still they want me stop and see the SI.Why i have to see the Inspector.Am i a criminal.When someone is showing the proper documents and valid papers, why is he getting treated like criminal.When most of the actual criminals get a POLICE SALUTE from the same cops when they pass on a car.
Who are the real offenders and why they have not been fined till now.

The real offenders are the State Transport Corporation.
Tell me how many times has anybody seen a MTC bus or SETC bus follow the rules and regulations.I see each and every other vehicle doing that in each and every other signal.These bus drivers violate each and every rule in the police books, but still roam around freely.No case has been filed on them.Forget the case, they are not even questioned.
What horns are used in these Government buses and Private Buses????has any cop filed a case for Musical horn/Air horn U/S 190(2) Rs.50/- If they have to file a case they can file at-least a lakh of cases on the same every day.
Why are the lorries which ply on the GST road and other roads fined for horns and over-speeding, If some one takes the videos on the palavanthangal signal and the charges are filed.I will leave an open bet, i can collect more than 11 lacs fine which the chennai traffic police have collected for the signal violation from MTC bus drivers for the whole last year, within a month.
Who is controlling the politician's vehicles???
Politicians : These politicians can do anything and everything, cos, no police will catch them or even when they catch they wont fine.They can go in any speed limits within the city, they violate and signal, they can use the most powerful horns, they can tint their car windows to the darkest shade, they can drink and drive in the real sense.Who is going to ask????No one will ask.All u need to do is like wear the Political party's flag on the front.That gives them the licence to do anything and everything.

Who is governing autorickshaws???
Who is an auto rickshaw driver??? You can take a simple poll, starting from the auto stand nearby you home.

Do they use meters?
Do they charge you extra?
Do the auto rickshaw have all the valid papers or permits?
Who is the Auto driver?
How many cases does each auto driver has?
Is he an habitual offender?
Does he drinks and drives auto-rickshaw?
Do the auto-rickshaw drivers go on road-rash?

The answer to most of the question is yes.But is Chennai City Traffic Police ever taking any steps towards that.I have 4 auto stands near my home.80% of the autos doesn't have permits or proper papers and every one charges a fixed rate of Rs 25-30/- for a drop to station or bus stop which is 1.2 km away or even lesser.75% of these auto drivers are habitual offenders in some case or other.I myself have met with 3 accidents(major) all involving auto driver drinking and driving or rash driving.What is the cops of chennai doing?????

I can write even more elaborate what are the other offences.The more i am thinking of this, is making me more dejected at the things which are happening.They want to harass only the bikers.The biker are easy to catch(more easy prey is auto-rickshaws, but police doesn't have the dare to file a case against them)They are unaware of the fines and the tricks the traffic police plays.They get scared easily and give the money to the police.They can be even tricked to fill big cases where they don't have offenders.What does the Tamil Nadu Police try to play a COP role or a CULPRIT role?Who is going to control the menace whats happening?Is there a relief for this or this is the fate of every Citizen of India who has been paying tax.Is it a moment to be proud of India or Ashamed of India and being Indian.

I agree. This is waht happened to me on 31-May-11. while driving home night from spencers in a 2 wheeler. The traffic police stopped meat 1000 lights signal and said i was on wrong route, i insissted and explained that i had come on correct route. Then he said i violated the signal.i said i didnt do that.Then he said the fine of 1050 to be paid and noted my vehicle number.He said that notice will come to my hose and i sholuld pay the fine in court. In mean while they caught a car guy for same reason, he bribed 400 rs and they left him. i said ill pay it court rather to pay to him.
All are cheats .some thing has to be done strictly for these persons

Traffic Police — ill treated

Coimbatore traffic police & police behaving like a slum guys to the public , we are not criminals to treat like this ! if i appose them means they increase their treatment (terrific) , we need respect from them or else surely the case will be filed against the police department .

a traffic police man violated the chennai traffic rules and regulation in nungambakkam, he is going wrong route... rules and regulations for all or only common people ... please explain...

I got a brand new vehicle and took from the showroom and Going to Office on the same day, Neat Medavakkm a- Sholinganallur Toll, the RTO person in INNOVA name [ B.Moorthy] stopped me as asked for no plate, but any new vehicle the No will be allocated by RTO in the evening of the registered date and plate will be issued by the dealer next day.

But this inspector/S.I said it is a crime and the penalty is 2500rs, but he was struggling to get the listed in his handy fine machine. after along discussion, they wipped my vault where i was haing 550 and left.

It is just 4 kms from home Medvakkam to Wipro office. Would like to know the rules on this and how to raise a compliant on the person B.Moorthy

Dear Sir, The Traffic police standing near Park View hotel in Nungampakkam High road, oppsite. to Independence park collecting Rs.100 for vehicles coming from 'Kumar appa lane' which is a Free left. He said Rs.1100 will be charged if case is booked. He did not carry equipment to fine the vehicle. His intention is clearly to collect money. Please take some action. Thanks

Some Traffic police are cheating peoples. Today i saw that one man his name is Sampath. he put fine 100 and he taken more than 50 rupees. for doing this kind of job better he will suicide. For my suggestion if any complaints against Traffic Police please investigate. If problem is police side, dismiss them and put fine. (wrongly collected amount*1000). So that other traffic polices will get the discipline.

One more suggestion for collecting bribe form public some old police mans(better we will admin him in old age home).

This has become a regular activity by the Chennai traffic police especially the traffic police in Anna Nagar tie up with local thugs who act as a parking fee collector and threaten the public by collecting the fee but not giving the receipt. The police then arrive there and collect a fine for parking in a non parking area. No complain could be launched against neither the fee collectors nor the traffic police because both have joined hands to involve into criminal activities. I could not understand, when public is aware of this why the police department is not aware of these criminal activities carried out by there own department people

As per law a police man can not put fine and collect more than Rs.100. As per Sec.206 (2) of M.V.Act, 1988, if you decide not to pay spot fine, you will be issued a notice with instructions to appear in the court within a week. However, as security your DL in original will be kept in Police custody under acknowledgement.
All the police officers have been clearly told not to stop the motorists merely for checking the documents. Only when the motorist has committed some traffic violations, he can be stopped, documents checked and penalized for non-possession. There are strict instructions against police men stopping the vehicles unless you commit some traffic violation. Above the rank of Police Head Constable is authorized to receive payments against violation and issue a L -temp receipt. No Police Constable can issue a L - temp receipt and therefore receive a payment. They can however record the violations on the basis of which violation will follow. This L - temp can be settled at concerned traffic police Division or Prosecution section of the D.C.P.Traffic Office. Incase a Constable threatens you with spot fine, insist on getting receipt and the chances are that he will let you go because he is not authorized to issue a receipt or receive money.

I am facing the same problem of corruption and fine charges frequently and fed-up with these activities because of these police men. These money is my blood and am earning it by hard work but these blood suckers asking for money even without any mistake from my side and acting so cheaper and they taking my money though i had all the documents properly and shown it to them on time. The rash driving and cell phone usage while driving it charges Rs:1000/- is really a looting from public. I too had that bitter experience today.

I had an exp in 2k9 in chennai.i had to take u turn.i was in front row wn light ws red.but signal came green for those who wntd to go straight and the man behind was honking so much that i took my car a bit forward jz beyond the line.and this stupid policeman caught me n asked for 1500 bucks.i told i m a doc n i m in chennai to attend a surgery.bugger dint leave me.finally i had to settle him with half a grant..

Hi, I also had a same kind of experience on Sunday 11th May 2014, near
central railway station. While coming out from the railway station
(right wing) in my activa, I happened to take the
wrong exist. There was a constable and an inspector in the exist road
doing there routine vehicle check. The constable told me to park my
vehicle aside and, he was trying to be polite, by saying that "It's good
that you wear helmet and now a days people doesn't
wear it". He checked my licence, RC and insurance. Finally he asked me I

took the wrong exit and I need to pay a fine of 400 rupees. I tried to
convince him saying that I missed the signal board(which is hardly 3
meters away). He then asked to
tell where I am working and how much salary I am
getting. Pretty cheap dialog from a law enforcing officer..huh!!!..All
this time the inspector is pretending to be busy with something else. I
wish I were in defence or in Press, to get my sound in that situation.
As I was not having that amount in my hand, I am asked to check my
purse. He asked to give what even I am having in my purse as a warning
fine. Luckily,
I was having only 100 rupees in my purse. I went and handed over the
amount to the inspector. The shameless inspector, look the amount with
his left hand and became busy with another civilian. I didn't get any receipt. Later, I got to know that the fine for wrong entry is Rs 100 only. I felt bad, for not responding, I cursed by ignorance and, I am embrassed by the constable's play of forcing the civilian to give bribe. Dear friends, next time if some one happens
to be in such a situation, be brave and have a look in to their name
plates. If possible try to record the entire incidence in your mobile
phone.

Today i have parked the bike near to one office in perengudi. when i came back my bike was imported by the traffic police. When i went there & told them to give my bike, they asked me 300 RS. when i argued they told to take it from Court. Few other persons also have came to take the bike since they are from tamilnadu they talked in tamil & gave 100 & take there bike. But when i told why you are not giving my bike they told to take it from court. This is totally . Rule is same for all the citizen.

This is Suresh from Pallikaranai, This incident happened to me on 31/05/2014. I was carrying empty LPG gas cylinder to the gas distributor agency for the replacement in my two wheeler near Velachery railway station. I was stopped by the traffic police(missed to notice his name) and he asked me to show all the documents. And i have shown all the documents then he said carrying cylinder in two wheeler is offence and asked me to pay the fine 1500 for that. I said i am not having that much amount then he demanded me to pay 300-/rs as bribe and finally i paid that amount after i argued for sometime and i don't have other option.

Can anyone tell is carrying empty gas cylinder in two wheeler is offence. Then how come gas delivery persons delivering the cylinder door to door in two wheeler

I just an ordinary middle class man. The gas delivery persons demanding for 100-/rs after delivering the cylinder to my home and they are saying that they need to carry this to 2nd floor and that's why i should pay the 100 rs every time. Due to that there were oral clash happened between me and delivery mans several times.

To avoid this i myself plan to surrender the empty gas cylinder and take back the new cylinder. But traffic police man saying i should not carry the cylinder.

You all know as a ordinary man running our daily life is an achivement in india. Only politicians, Rowdi's and gundas can only do anything and these police mens wont take any action against them. For saving 100rs of my hard earned money if i carry empty cylinder then i have to pay 300rs or 1500 to police men as fine.

I know very well nothing going to change and no one going care about ordinary man. I Just wanted to share my feelings here.


Can anyone say carrying empty cylinder is offence by indian traffic rules. So that from next time onwards i can pay 100 rs to the delivery boys instead paying fine 300rs or 1500. So that i can save atleast some amount of my hard earned money.

I was travelling in my car with relatives from new avadi road to koyamedu. While returning it was around 10.30 pm with some traffic and there was a car which passed before me towards koyambedu. Since I was new to the route I followed behind him and turned right putting signal in my car. That car went very fast. There was no traffic police in the lane. When I tried to turn suddenly traffic policeman came behind my car and instructed to park my vehicle in left side opp to pachiayappa's college and asked for driving licence and paper. I said i was new to the route and I don't know since there was no sign board mentioned not to take right side. He said I violated the rules and will put fine of Rs. 2000 and give chargesheet. I said I didnt have that much money and pleaded him. He said there is an atm in opp. side and take money from that i give. when I used my atm card, the atm machine was not working at that time. I explained him the situation & said i came with my family for hospital visit and dont hav that much amount. He didnt even had that curtosy and said he will put fine for atleast half the amount and will give charge sheet, he also said this money goes to govt only and not to his pocket. It was already late. So I collected money from my relative & gave Rs. 1000 and demanded charge sheet. He put that money in his pocket and gave my license and papers. Due to busy traffic, he said it will take time and started looking at other vehicles. Meanwhile I could see 2 to 3 cars passing in same way and traffic police didn't even try to stop them. I once again demanded charge sheet he said he leaves me based on humanity and curtosy. Since it was already late night I had no other go rather to leave the place. I was totally dejected and disappointed.

I my opinion there is no humanity nor curtosy in that traffic police mind rather than cheating the Public and the Government.

I am wonder how Chennai Traffic police cheated the motorists in Chennai. Yesterday I parked my Two Wheeler in front of the LIC Branch (Bombay Mutual Building) on NSC Bose Road near Parrys corner. When I am parking my vehicle already so many two wheeler and four wheeler was there parked. Immediately within 10 minutes when I returned back and wondered all the two wheeler was taken away by traffic police. I don't know that was the NoParking area., moreover there is no sign Board as ' No Parking'. How can anyone know which is No Parking area?. And also how can traffic police tow the vehicle without erect the 'No Parking' sign board. Is it fare rule? They tow the two wheeler as they like irrespective of timings. When I questioned the S.I of traffic police how can they tow the vehicle when there is no 'No Parking' sign board., astongishly he said that Senior Police Official conditioned them orally that every Traffic Police S.I. should penalise minimum 100 vehicles everyday. Are we living in democratic state?..Finally I paid the fine of Rs.260/- and collected my two wheeler. Surely I move to the High Court condemning the traffic police unfair activities to the motorists particularly two wheeler motorists...whether you take action against the traffic personnel or not I brought this matter to your attention...RAVANAN...[protected]

I had one same situation. i came from my house, in that street have to end up with one main road that is one way road, and parallel road same distance 10 to 20 m that in end up with the same one way road and this road you will cross the road to other side. Today i came from house that first road (In year all the days i came from that road) and road edge i drive bike 2 to 3 kms speed. today one traffic police catch me and put a fine Rs.300.

Note that point : All the day of In a year in this place no police in came today[protected] they came (After two day later diwali Come[protected].

I do not have money in my hand, so
i request to ask "Can i withdraw and give",
He said "Ok"

After that i gave a money to give but He did not give a bill receipt. he directly put a money into his pocket.

What a Police man. This is the Tamilnadu police. I did not tell all the police like this, but mostly like this only.

Problem is that we both (ourself & Police officer) doesn't know the traffic law.

Can anyone share some traffic law points?

1. Not sure whether I should get out of my car or motorcycle to answer a police personnel...?

2. Do police personnel has authority to take off my vehicle key?

3. whom I should complaint, if a police personnel try to violate his responsibility.

i have duplicate license instead of original ...but there r asking original license only..or leave your bike here, go home take it back and come..But in government rule if a person not having license their is fine is 100 rs only...but they collected 300 rs...and they forced me to pay it...

I am Dineshkumar working in an IT industry. But my earnings is around 10, 000. On June 24th, 2016 in thoraipakkam signal, the police lock my bike for crossing stop line and ask for 1300 as fine for crossing stop line, traffic signal violation, crossing city speed limit and rash driving. I was shocked by seeing this but i can't argue with them because of fear on them..Finally they collect Rs.100 from me without checking my bike papers, insurance and even my license.

Salute TamilNadu Police...

Me and my friend going kodaikanal we are reaching around 11 pm around we are parking over car near lake side that time one innovaa taxi boad with police officer stopped near my cab. That police ##Y's asking questions we are telling details last that police officer asking first time asking 500 for uniform (white shirt and white pants). Am wearing white shirt only that's not a problem we are ready to pay but after that he is asking nameplate am telling sir we don't have nameplate am from Kerala we are not using nameplateand white pants finally he is asking 3000 rupes for fine reason for telling this is not a safe place u don't have permission to visit kodaikanal lake and that time am telling i don't have money that time driver asking my car key and he is taking my car key after that he is going that time my friend sittle money we don't have getting any reacpt. This is tamilnadu police #### sistam

An any cab seeing kerala we are also doing this type we are tha police and Cort. Waiting​for tha operchunity

It is rather a pitiable state that such a main junction is without a traffic signal for the last six months. You can see small children and old people struggling to cross the road. MTC buses who have scant regard for traffic rules make it worse, so do these share auots!!
Will the authorities concerned take appropriate action to avert any untoward incident

This is to bring to your attention that the traffic signal between Ethiraj College and Taj Connemara is not working for the last one and half years. No one seems to be bothered about the same. Many accidents taking place in this area. We cannot blame the traffic police as they cannot control the traffic in the morning and evening times. Yes. This happened to me too at the Tidel Park signal. The SI also said that instead of having receipt I can mention to all the traffic policemen who stop me on way that Chelladurai is my friend for the day. Poor me.. If only it had been a woman police. I wud have had a valentine for the 2009.

Its really a racking situation and its high time for us to take care of these .I own a kerala registered car and spend minimum Rs 200 a week for feeding these stupids just because of KL registration.Once they come to know that I am not from chennai, they find fake reasons for getting bribe.It is painful, not because of the amount but becaues of getting cheated.Since there is no one to help us to put an end to this situation, Let us pray to god that for whomever these spend our hard earned money, be destroyed and that Let that traffic police men suffer rest of his life.

same story with me...A traffic inspector in Bescent nagar beach...asked us to pay...2000 RS for NOC and expired Insurance.( My friends bike is from AP.He has already NOC..but not received..he had the NOC bill.)

He treated us to the worse and acted like a Hitler. He finally said...unless we bribe him 300 RS, he will never let us go. I dont want to bow and pay that bribe cockroach. I paid a 1000 Rs with bill challan.

I am seeing a way to verifiy if this challan if it is original!!

But do anyone have any idea...how 2 reduce this nusence, can we contribute by making few traffic police caught to the anti corruption dept?

While i was crossing the signal a group of police caught me and verified my licence and insurance. Everything was perfect with me. Then he asked 500 rs. I asked why sir everything is perfect with me. Then he said "if you are not going to give money i will book you under not obeying signal, i know whome to get money. I had only 100 rs in my purse. I showed my purse to him. He took that money and gave my bike key.

i faced the same problem. on 17/01/2010 evening i took my car and travelled from saint thomas mount towards beach. I WAS STOPPED BY A TRAFFIC POLICE AT THENAMPET AND VERIFIED MY LICENCE AND TOLD THAT I CROSSED SIGNAL WHEN AMBER LIGHT WAS GLOWING. I HOLD LEARNERS LICENCE. HE TOLD ME THAT HE WILL BOOK CASE AND I HAD TO COME TO COART TOPAY PENALTY. HE COLLECTED RS.100/= AND LET ME GO. THEN FROM THENAMPET SIGNAL I TOOK RIGHT TURN TOWARDS MYLAPORE AND THERE I WAS STOPPED BY THREE TRAFFIC POLICE.. THEY THREATENED THAT THOUGH I WAS HOLDING L=LICENCE, IN FRONT SIDE L- BOARD WAS NOT DISPLAYED AND I DID NOT NOTICE THE RED SIGNAL. IF CASE BOOKED, RS.1500/[ WOULD BE PENALTY. THEY COLLECTED RS.200/= AND LET ME GO.

I underwent the same harassment yesterday(23.1.10). At Nandanam signal at 9.15 am as i was turning towards the right towards SIET college the traffic signal suddenly stopped showing green right turn when i was midway turning towards right and there was this SI who stopped me. He started writing the challan when i got out of my car and i pleaded with him for consideration since it was not my fault because the green light stopped when i was midway. He did not listen. I am a Central Govt Gazetted Officer and i showed him my identity card also. He said that i have to pay 1200 Rs. I said i didnt have the money. Then he lowered the amount asking me to pay Rs.300. I paid and thought that he would give me the challan but instead he asked me to just go.When i mentioned about the money he said that in that case i will have to pay Rs.1200. I did not have the time to argue as i was in a hurry and so i left.I THINK THIS IS A PLOY ADOPTED BY THESE CORRUPT OFFICERS TO CHANGE THE SIGNAL WHEN THEY SEE VEHICLES IN THE MIDST OF CROSSING AND THEN STOPPING THEM BY STANDING A LITTLE AWAY AND THEN COLLECTING BRIBE. THEY DONT SPARE EVEN FELLOW GOVT OFFICERS. THIS PARTICULAR SI CAN BE SEEN STANDING AT THE CORNER OF NANDANAM SIGNAL (SIET SIDE) AND COLLECTING MONEY IN FULL PUBLIC VIEW.This SI has covered his name plate cleverly with envelopes in his pocket to safeguard himself.I request the authorities concerned to take strong action against this SI who was on duty yesterday at Nandanam signal at 9.15 am.

Chennai Traffic Police are the most corrupt in the entire world. They are blood-suckers and it is high time that the people of Chennai stood against them. The officials should look into this corruption and make sure that no spot-fine can be made. Since the government does not earn 1 rupee from it. Everything goes into their corrupt pockets. I hope they rot in hell.

The spasm taken by Chennai traffic police to invent new scientific thesis are really commendable.When the average speed of my bike is around 50 even i raise my accelarotor to the fullest, even then the Traffic police in OMR Road have proved that the tachometer shows my bike speed at 70kms.surely they will be a part of all new initiatives taken by ISRO with their gadets and HIFI Technology. The language they speak to people whether educated or uneducated and the way they treat is the only reason why our mother tongue tamil has been conferred with Chemmozhi status.Also, all their hard earned money are going directly to the prime ministers relief fund.Hence forth all the IT Employees and other fellow citizens of my country are requested not to negotiate with these white dressed and white hearted Traffic men and allow them to do their jobs for serving the great motherland with their clean and transparent mindset and by god's grace they all give their hand to developed INDIA 2020 where the Traffic police department assets will be on par with that of the swiss bank assets(which would be iota in comparison).Jai Hind!

Traffic Police — Traffic Police not keeping receipt books

Hello,

The traffic police do not keep the original receipt books with them. If they catch you for signal breaking etc they give a temporary receipt and make you go to the main office to pay the fine.

Certainly they are doing this to get bribe because generally people can afford to pay Rs 100 for breaking the signal but if they need to go all the way to main office to pay the fine they will opt. for setting the matter by bribing.

If the traffic police can carry the temporary receipt then why can’t they carry original receipts itself. This will reduce the corruption to some extent atleast.

I had a similar experience today. Was stopped by one pot bellied inspector Muthuveerapan.V. It was morning 5 and my offence was signal violation. Infact, i had stopped at all the signals and my bad i missed this one signal, and the road was like a free state highway with no vehicles on the road. What ever may be, i agree, i had commit-ed an offence of signal violation. But my point is that this person took 350 Rs from me as fine. Later i came to know that the fine is only 50 Rs. He asked for a bribe of Rs 100, since i refused to pay a bribe, he made me pay 350. My only intention of this post to let everyone know that fine amount for signal violation (Section 119 U/s 177) is only Rs 50 (as per the receipt) and DO NOT PAY A PENNY MORE TO THESE POT BELLIED .

On last sunday 28 september evening near pothys i caught by the traffice police without any reason. He stopped my bike by coming suddenly blocking my bike way[ Iam not sure if i felt down he will not be in hurt]. He asked me the license and RC book i showed everything to him. His intention is get money from me so he told me that number is not in the correct format so asked me to pay the fine for tat.After that long argument he is not at all accepting for anything and not even listening my words. And also he is threatining me like he will put complain against me after I wont get bike from then like that he said. He fined me 200 Rupees and written only Rs 50 in the challan. When i asked him he again threaten me like any thing. Even he used bad words too.So simply i payed the amount and return back.


Please take some steps or teach them how to behave to the public.
