Vijay Sharma, a cosmetic surgeon of Mumbai, India's commercial metropolis, was arrested on Saturday on charges of molesting a 22-year-old TV journalist in his clinic.

TV Serial Actress, Model Files Molestation Charge Against Celebrity Cosmetic Surgeon


A TV serial actress and model has alleged that reputed cosmetic surgeon Dr Vijay Sharma molested her during a routine checkup in his clinic in Khar, Mumbai on Friday.

The actress (name withheld) has filed an FIR with Khar police station. A case under Section 354 IPC has been registered against the surgeon.
According to the actress-cum-model, she had undergone cosmetic surgery in 2006-07 and had been going to the surgeon's clinic regularly for routine checkup.

On Friday, as she lay on the table, the surgeon came in and asked her to take off her clothes, according to the FIR. The surgeon then began to molest her while using obscene language. The actress protested and when Dr Sharma persisted, she decided to go to the police.

A similar charge of molestation was made against Dr Sharma in 2008 by a female journalist, which was later withdrawn.Dr Vijay Sharma has been credited with performing cosmetic surgeries on several Bollywood celebrities. He is unavailable for comment.
