    This has nothing to do with India, but I want everybody to know how Hilton fools his loyal customers, so here is the story:

    I searched for a hotel in Beijing and found a cheap Hilton deal at easyclicktravel.com.But, remembering the Best Rate Guarantee as advertised by Hilton, I booked at a more expensive rate at Hilton.com and then claim the Guarantee.

    Now here is what they wrote back to me:

    The reservation booked on the Hilton website was for a KING BED GUEST ROOM.

    eligible for the Our Best Rates Guaranteed.

    We realize that every guest has a choice when traveling and we thank you for
    making Hilton family of hotels your choice. We look forward to the

    That's just ridiculous - when you
    check the website of the Hotel
    http://doubletree1.hilton.com/en_US/dt/hotel/BJSDTDI-Doubletree-by-Hilton-Beijin...
    you can see that they offer 3 room types: Guest Rooms, Suites and Executive
    Guest Rooms . So there cant be a difference between the King Bed Guest Room
    and the Standard Guest Room.

    It is just a shame how they behave against a loyal Gold Honors Member ! But
    I am not alone, when you read the complaints at flyertalk for example it
    seems like their normal business idea to deny all claims.

    I am just very disappointed and will stay elsewhere on my next trips :-(

    4.0 SALARY INDICATION
    YOU WILL BE ELIGIBLE TO RECEIVE GBP 4, 500.00 (FOUR THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED POUNDS MONYHLY)
    Funds can be transferred to any Bank designated by you and this must be in conformity with the present tax situation of the Country.
    5.0 ALLOWANCES/ ENTITLEMENTS
    Hazard/Inconveniences: GBP 1, 000 .00 Pounds (Monthly)
    Car Maintenance: GBP 500 Pounds (Monthly)
    House & Furnishings: GBP 9, 000 Pounds (Yearly)
    Entertainment & Recreation: GBP 950.00 Pounds (Monthly)

    6.0 GRANTS & LOANS

    Lieu Car Loan: All Employees are eligible to apply.
    Starter’s amount will be GBP7, 045.00 Pounds, can be re-paid within 2 years with GBP US$0.00 Pounds interest.

    New Orleans Business Loans: All Employees are eligible to apply for loan.

    7.0 PAID LEAVE PERIOD/ TRAVEL
    All Employees are entitled to 1 months Paid Leave which can be taken once at a time or 2weeks apart one different period.

    All Employees will receive GBP 2, 180.00 Pounds Take home for each leave Period.
    Employer for each Inter-continental trip shall pay GBP 1, 520.00 Pounds flat rate travel/entertainment allowance to employee. Travel shall be by business class/first class. Employer shall also take care of employees' travel ticket including that of employees' family only on employee’s early notification to employer and as shall be requested by employee.
    8.0 EXPENSES BEFORE TRAVEL BY EMPLOYEES
    Expenses made/incurred by the employee related to job before commencement of duties or Expenses made during Travel Plans, Processing of Travel Particulars ETC will be substantiated with proof and Employer will reimburse the Employee not later than Ten (10) working days after submission of Employee’s expense Report and original copies as proofs of such Expenses.

    Employer however agrees to reimburse fully all Travel costs and Expenses made by Employee.
    Employer would not shoulder 100% costs for Travel Expenses, Processing of Work/ Resident Permit Papers of Employee before Work sign-on. This is to possibly evade losses that may be accrued to Employer should Employee decide to decline Job Offer after certain Expenses must have been made by Employer. This agreement hereby binds Employer and Employee in that re-imbursements will be made fully to Employees upon presentation of Expense Reports and proof of Expenses.

    The first monthly salary shall be paid in advance after the Six Days Orientation programmed before any employee of (SHERATON HOTEL AND TOWERS ). Come down to her duty post officially, this is to enable SHERATON HOTEL AND TOWERS Staff settle all domestic needs which they incurred before travelling. As such no excuses will be entertained on assumption of duty relating to default.
    Payment of First Month’s salary is also geared towards making sure that all employees has enough money in his/her Bank account as the UNITED KINGDOM Expatriates Financial Statutory Law would demand (NEFSL)

    All payment of Salary after assumption of duty in UNITED KINGDOM shall be 70% paid into an offshore account to be provided by employee with the remaining 30% paid locally in UNITED KINGDOM.
    This is in line with the UK Expatriate Financial Statutory Laws.

    9.0 FEEDING & ACCOMODATION
    Newly recruited staff of SHERATON HOTEL AND TOWERS is expected to reside at the company’s Staff estate. There are FOUR BED-ROOM FLAT DUPLEX options for Employees to choose from,
    Also, employees shall be expected to eat at the staff canteen free of charge, as there are dietary options for vegetarians and non-vegetarians.

    10.0 MEDICAL EXPENSES
    Employer will provide the employee with comprehensive Health care for the term of contract, and follow-on care for injuries suffered during the term of contract for employee and family.

    11.0 OFFICE ASSETS TO BE PROVIDED BY EMPLOYER .
    Computer resources: Laptop Computer, 1.6 GHz Processor, 256 MB RAM, 24XCD-RW, 30GB Hard Drive, Floppy Drive, Integrated Network Adapter, Internal 56K Modem, Spare Battery and Necessary Software. Full time Internet access is also made available.
    Phones: Employer will provide each employee with one (1) landline and one (1) mobile telephone. This shall have a reasonable and limited credit limit application per month.

    12.0 SAFETY & SECURITY
    Safety and Security (Local/Foreign) and Facilities on Job Locations and communities are no small issues, and have been seriously considered to ensure and assure hitch free operations, all workers are entitled to security men at their Residential Quarters
    All operations on Job Location are designed to adhere strictly to the Health Safety and Environment (HSE) Policy.
    13.0 TELECOMMUNICATION/ INTERNET FACILITIES
    There are standard Telecommunication Facilities and Internet services at the disposal of all expatriates, and it shall be accessible to all Personnel (Local/Foreign) without any charge or expenses to be incurred.
    Expatriates from the Local dealers/Service can obtain cellular Phone Providers in Work Metropolis but must be used in accordance with the safety regulations on Job Locations.

    14.0 ADDITIONAL SERVICES
    Recreational/Sports Facilities shall also be made available at the disposal of all expatriates with no expenses to be incurred. Laundry and Dry Cleaning Service will also be made available to all Expatriates by the company's laundry and dry cleaning unit.
    You shall be required to furnish us with your valid UK residence and work permits papers on or before the 23rd Feb. 2010 as a proof of readiness to join the SHERATON HOTEL AND TOWERS project team in the due time as stipulated above for your job resumption with the SHERATON HOTEL AND TOWERS in UK and also to enable you receive your first monthly salary including your due entitlements/emoluments prior to your departure for services with the SHERATON HOTEL AND TOWERS in UK.
    15.0 CONTRACT DURATION:
    Your contract is expected to last for a period of 26 Months which is renewable only on satisfactory performance by employee.
    16.0 OTHER TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF WORK EMPLOYMENTS
    i) That all expatriates considered for this job offer must be satisfactorily qualified.
    ii) That all expatriates contacted must submit their original certificates and credentials to the Human Resources /Recruitment Manager for screening as soon as they arrive UK.
    iii) That the company will only be responsible for 70% processing fees of expatriates traveling documents and work permit document etc.
    iv) In lieu of 3 above, expatriates are expected to pay 30% of their processing fees to a reliable Legal Attorney that will be communicated to them in no distance time as soon as they have been consider/giving the job appointment.
    v) All expatriates contacted and contracted for this engagement will have the Hard copy of their job contract engagement papers document been forwarded to the reliable Legal Attorney assigned to procure their traveling documents, immigration particulars, work permit, etc.
    VI) That employee shall make him or herself available to resume work on 26th Feb.2010.
    These are strictly stated in the company MEMORANDUM and ARTICLES OF ASSOCIATION and the company MODUS OPERANDI.

    Please Note that your visa/residence work permit and entry clearance document will be processed here in our office in London.. You are expected to fill your WORK PERMIT/ENTRY CLEARANCE DATA ASSESSMENT FORM attached to file and return it bacK to this office via email attachments.

    Also, you are expected to to send the below to this office via email attachments.

    1) International passport copy (The first two pages)
    2) Colored passport size photograph (2inch/2ich, )

    Upon the confirmation of the completed United Kingdom (UK) visa application form and the required passport copy and passport size photograph. You shall also be required to pay the below listed processional government /Immigration charges.

    Total = GBP580.00
    The above total fees are for the processing of residence work permit/visa or entry clearance permit to enable you live and work in the United Kingdom.

    Payment can be made to our authorized foreign broker's account, which will take few days to clear in our account here in the UK.

    All payment receipt or evidence of remittance should be copied to HILTON HOTEL carbon copy (CC) for reference and reimbursements as contained in the contract agreements terms.

    Family Visa...
    Employees with family status will pay processing charges of GBP800 per accompanying family member that is eighteen years and above. And will supply Scanned copies of their international passport copy and passport size photograph as earlier advised and will concurrently include their details as required while filling the Visa Form/Entry Clearance Form as will be sent to you.
    We will furnish you with details for payment once we receive the UK visa application form well completed/filled and other listed requirement with advice regarding the preferred method of payment.

    After sending the total visa fees, you will have to scan and e-mail the transfer slip to us, for confirmation.

    As soon as your visa is ready, we will urgently courier the original residence work permit/visa and all the hard copies of your contract documents including your air ticket provided by your employer through our diplomatic courier services details to you.
