I had taken jyothi gas connection on 2017 beginning. We decided to disconnect the gas connection after 3-4 years. I went to jyothi gas near kadugodi to return the cylinder and get back the deposit
While the deposit amount is 1750 (Excluding regulators and other charges which were paid separately), they agreed to pay back just 400-600 rs quoting that we are returning after 3 years hence the deduction. I haven't heard of anything as such while taking the connection nor they showed us any policies as such
I had to return the cylinder as i couldn't have taken it back (Difficult to carry)

I would really want to know if there is any such rules, as with govt gas connection, they return the entire deposit back. But here they totally refuse to pay the deposit!!

It would be good if this can be resolved asap as many other customer would be facing the same issue

      mathaji gas agency

      Address: 560068

The mathaji gas agency refused to return my security deposit of rs 1800. At the time of installation they promised they will return entire amount. Now they refused to return full amount saying 50% will be deducted. Later, they said rs1200 will be returned and that they will charge rs 600 as service charge. Whereas, they do not have a written policy for the same....

Dealer "sri mathaji gas entreprises, bangalore" stopped giving us bills from previous 2 time. He kept on delaying that he will bring bill someday and when we told him that we'll compain to consumer court, then he told that he won't bring bill any day and he doesn't fear consumer court. For the cylinder he gave today, he asked us if we're constantly asking for bill. When we said, yes, then he told that he forgot to bring bill this time also.

Less filling. We're 2 people and our cylinder work for atleast 2-3 months like our other cylinders have worked. But second last cylinder worked only for 1 and half months. He never brings weighting to weight cylinder.

They started charging rs.900 instead of rs.850. And now no bills.

        Who could address this problem.

It's seriously black. Cheating.. And worst thing a consumer can face.
These dealers must be handled seriously and jyothi gas must cancel their license asap. Or else, it's clear that jyothi gas service is as ignorant and aggressive as them.!

Dealers no. Is [protected] (Sri mathaji gas entreprises, bangalore)
He is the guy who told us that he doesn't fear consumer courts and won't provide us bill.Interestingly, he seems the owner of this mathaji gas agency.

I have purchased Jyothi gas year ago... Now as I am relocating some other place I asked the agency to collect back cylinder and pay back the advance amount. The guy is refusing to collect the gas and giving reasons.
This is insane that I am following up with that guy from 2 weeks ... Finally when I visited the shop, the shop guy told, owner is not there. when I called owner, he is telling shop guy is not there. He might be thinking that, he can fool customer.. That is his foolishness.

non delivery of cylinder on weekends

We tried to book a gas cylinder on sunday, but the people there said that the office is closed whereas the corporate office staff are saying that they will provide the service on weekends too.Customer service is not good.

I am a registered customer from last 4 years and I have the connection in my brothers name ( Srikanth .M.S, registered in RT Nagar, Bangalore). I have purchased today (6 March 2014 at 8 40 pm from a dealer - Vikas Enterprises, 13/1, 6th Main, 80 ft Road Srinivasanagar main road, Srinivasanagar, Bank colony, Bangalore Ph:[protected] . He has charged me Rs 1250 per cylinder refill (12.0 KG instead of 14.5 KG) and refused to give a bill. He also said that Jyothi gas will never offer home delivery. So I had to go and hand pick the cylinder.

              Sir,

As I have booked gas on 19/02/2012, as our gas Agency Jyothi Gas has not yet delivered Cylinder, I have got the message with a registered no.319715 and delivery message in my mobile. But no gas has been delivered till date. On enquiry with our delivery boy, we got the message as leakage in the Cylinder and the cylinder has been sent back on 14/03/2012. Is this true or fake.

              Thanking you,

Hi Sir, I am a customer of Jyothi Gas for home use. I am using it from past 2 years and when I got the connection, I was told that the home delivery will be provided. But this service was provided only for the first time when I took the connection. Since I was staying very near to an agency at Kanna Halli, Sarjapur road, I took it myself and now I have changed to T C Palya, KR Puram. The agency here is around a kilometer away and am unable to take it myself. When I went and ask for a home delivery, I was told that this service is not available at this "far". I tried to complient by calling the contact numbers provided at the website "http://www.jyothigas.com/contact_us.php". None of the phone numbers are available now. I am now left with a cylinder which I am not sure where to dump. The website clearly says there is door step service. Please help me.
                Many Thanks,
                Paulson.

                  Hi,

I have taken a new connection of Jyothi gas in the month of July, 2010 along with which I got a Cylinder of 12 kg. As I am bachelor, I do not cook very often. This gas was sustained from August, 2010 to 4th January, 2011.
On 4th Jan, I ordered for new cylinder which they delivered immediately. Charges for this is 780 + 30 (Service charges). However, this time it got over on 17th Feb and I ordered for another cylinder. When it was delivered, I told the delivery guy about it. My concern is when my usage was very less, then how can the gas get over within a month. I suspect the cylinder provided was not fully filled.
Delivery guy told me to use at this time and watch. But what about my money which I already spent? When I called up Gas agency @[protected] , one lady spoke to me who didnt agree for whatever I said and asked me to contact delivery guy.
Please help me out in resolving this as it is not possible to get over the gas within a Month when usage is so less.
                  Expecting speedy resolution from you.

                    Hi,

My Consumer ID with Indane gas is 41537. I had called up the agency to book the refill on 28th Jan 2011, but i was told to book the same on 29th Jan. Accordingly I had made the booking on 29th Jan 2011. I was told that I could expect the same between 5 to 7 days.

Till date there is no refill which has hit my doorstep. Being frustrated with the delay, when I called up the above agency (Jyothi Gas, Malleswaram,Bangalore) . I was stated that no booking was done by me, subsequently i need to rebook the same for no mistake of mine.

This happens with this agency regularly. They are punctual in collecting the booking. They make no mistake in collecting a booking , which happens to be one day early by the consumers. Again when it comes to delivery, they are very much regular in delaying the services. Apart from services, the attitude is too harsh in terms of handling the consumers.

I would request your goodself, to consider my humble complaint and do the needful.

                    Regards,

I completely agree. I lived in Challagatta near Murugeshpalya till about an year back. I had taken a connection + stove from the Jyothi Gas agency next to what was then Kemp Fort on Airport Road. There was a Gas leaking smell whenever we were not using the Gas. I complained and they came and replaced the pipe. They charged us the price of replacing the pipe inspite of the connection being just 1 week old. But whatever they did, the problem never got resolved. I am planning to give away Jyoti gas and get some Government gas connection

I took a new connection from Jyothi Gas's dealer in Vijayanagar on Aug 06 and the so called new cylinder ran out of gas in just 5 days. We are a family of 4 and usually our consumption runs for almost 2 months!!! When I called Jyothi Gas Customer Service or the dealer, they say it not their problem.

The local dealer - Gurushree Enterprises does not want to take any responsibility although he has taken the money for deposit, new connection and the cylinder.

                            Dear Sir,

This is in connection with the fire accident suffered by my brother and his room mate suffered in Marthalli, Banglore on April 10, 2007.

My brother and his roommate have taken a new gas connection from Jyothi Gas and a new gas stove. On April 10, 2007 when the gas was delivered and was being installed by the Jyothi Gas techinican. Because of not being a properly trained technician and because of negligance the house in which they are caught fire and all the three (my brother, brother's friend and the technician) were severly injured. Later they were admitted in KR Hospital, Banglore. On 3 rd or 4th day the technician died after being shifted to another hospital by the Jyothi Gas dealer.

An FIR has been filed with the concerned police station also regarding the incident.

My brother and his roommate who were seriously injured and were in the intensive care in critical condition for almost a month and later discharged. At one point of time, doctors said their condition to be critical and declared them out of danger only after 20 days. But because of this they had to undergo skin grafting on the hands and the skin does not look any more natural on hands. Even though no grafting was performed on face, but as the top layer skin got burnt, it does not look completely natural. It took more than 4 months for both the injured to get back to work though their jobs ware secure. Even I was forced to stay away from my work place by taking leave for 45 days to attend and take care of my brother. We all had to undergo a lot of mental and physical pain. During this whole time, the way the Jyothi gas disributor (Sanjay and Puttiraman) bahaved with was very bad when we asked to see if they can help us financially and see if any insurance money can be arranged. Please understand that both the guys are bachelors and now with these injuries it could be difficult to find a good match.

The incident occured mainly because of employing an unqualified and untrained techicial by Jyothi Gas. Note that inspite of warning the technician to take the cylinder out of the house as he could not install, he did not heed and said that he knows very well and acted in a manner that resulted in the accident.

Even till date either Mr Sanjay or Mr Puttiraman from Jyothi Gas did not get back to us and we gave up after following with them for about 4 to 5 months. Now none o[censored]s are in Bangalore. I am putting this here mainly to let and make other people know that Jyothi Gas is not at all safe.

                            Regards,
                            Kiran

iam also having bitter experience with jothi gas
I have a Jyothy gas dealer next door.

                            1. The amount of noise created - several times - each day - when gas cylinder
vehicle comes to replace empties, cylinders are thrown about.

                            2. Gas is " moved " to smaller cylinders, the whole place stinks and primed for an explosion.

                            3. Bharat gas and others like HP, Indane delivery boys conveniently "leave" their area cylinders near this shop and each cylinder is milked and profits are bartered.

We are witness to all these but no use, the police are hand in glove.

The local police writer/constable came and warned me that the shop has a licence.

The shop is located on main road in a tiny garage and the whole business is done on the roads. Only "gas management" is done inside the shop.

Is there any body to regulate gas shops located in a house?? Who is the licencing authority and how much do they take under the table to issue such permits.

I had taken a gas connection from the captioned company when I moved to Bangalore and was staying at Marathahalli. Subsequently I moved to Indiranagar but prior to moving, I checked with one Mr Kulkarni (your representative who gave me the connection) as to whether I would have a problem in transferring the existing connection and he assured me that I could transfer. I called him this morning at about 12.30pm requesting for a new cylinder and he told me that it would be delivered in 1 hour. I waited for 2 hours and then tried to call him but he did not take my calls. I then called him from a landline and he answered and once again told me that the truck had a puncture. It is appalling how this company loves to harass their customers. I told him that I would complain to the consumer forum and he told me to go ahead. I nonetheless requested him since I knew that getting a new connection would have been very difficult but to no avail. If anyone from the consumer forum is reading this message, than please pull them up for this.

What i heard is you have to contact Indira Nagar Jyothi Gas dealer. They are in Tippasandra. His name is Mr.Manjunath Cell:[protected]

The same was My experoience no use if you are goig to COURT.
Jyothi gas is an example for how PATHETIC customer service anybody on earth can offer. Be it dealers or people in their so called 'corporate' office. I have been interacting with dealers in marathahalli 'Sri Lakshmi', 'Sukha' and Neelam enterprises. HORRIBLE to speak with these people and you have plead to them to get a cylinder tolerating their attitude. If you plan to take a new connection, AVOID LIKE !!!

                                Hi All,

The cost of the pvt gas is more than the goverment gas. its becos that the govt gas comes with subsidies which are not extended to the pvt gas players (one sided policy of govt?). If the govt gas also comes out to public without the susbsidies, it will cost just the same as the pvt gas. Go by the quality of sercice, customer care, etc and by the cost.

                                Jyothi Gas — Bad service

After getting my connection, every time for refilling i have to make my own arrangement to get the cylinder. In addition they charge extra for the cylinder
                                hi,

The cost of the pvt Jyothi gas in Bangalore is more than double according to the goverment gas. Today the price of 12 kg. Gas refilling is Rs 650 and including Home delivery it cost Rs 700. So kindly speak to their costumer support dept. So that we can get refilling Gas at reasonable price.
                                Thank you
One month back the price was Rs.600. Today the price of 12 kg gas refilling is Rs 660 +20 for home delivery. Is there any response from the costumer support dept regarding the price trend?
Expecting a prompt action from the costumer support dept.
                                Thank you

Every time I refill this Jyoti Gas cylinder the price increases by Rs.100 to 150. But this time i.e. (30th May 12) it has increased by Rs.400/-. This is too much. God send someone from above who can help us in this steep price rising.17kg cylinder cost Rs.1660 + 50 = Rs.1710
                                Hi friends,

This month (02-DEC-2012) I have paid 1000INR for 12kg in bangalore. Also nowadays they are not delivering the cylinder at home. They are keep on saying they did not have the boys to deliver at home and promising each time that it wont happen again, we will arrange for it. Last four times I took auto and spent 100INR per trip.

                                Cheers :)

Jyothi Gas — charged more for domestic gas cylinder

I bought the non subsidized cylinder from jyothi gas instead of charging me Rs1240 they charged Rs1280, also the cylinder weight is 12kg compared to the one which we get from other gas agencies ( 14.2 from indane, bharat). These people are total fraud so dont go for Jyothi gas.

Jyothi Gas distributors are charging much higher than MRP printed on the cyliners...I noticed that I am paying Rs 150 - 200/- more than MRP printed on their cycliner. Note that MRP is already much higher than Govt price (being non-subsidised it is okay).

This is cheating as distributors are not suppose to charge higher than MRP..

I have attached the bill provided by M/S Megha Gas agency, Bangalore for cylinder delivered on 19 Apr 2015. Note that the charges levied were Rs 900 for the cylinder and Rs. 100 for delivery. When questioned on the amount scribbled alongside, the delivery person walked off saying delivery charge and without returning the change.

I find that these charges are arbitrary and very high and wish to register a complaint.
I request you to kindly confirm the cost of the 12kg cylinder and the charges that the dealers are allowed to levy.
If these were published on your website at http://www.jyothigas.com, it would help your consumers avoid being fleeced by the dealers.

                                Kindly do the needful.
