On 24 October I found out that our parcel was in Middelburg. So I sent
our first message to courier guy in which I
included our location link, address, manual directions even GPS on the
very first email to make sure that the driver knows where we are. I also
spoke to courier guy via telephone in which I stated we have a Google
verified business listing with a google map pin and GPS, so there should
not be any issues. On 24 Oct I received a reply from your Middelburg
office stating that they are aware of the problem and will rectify
immediately. On the 24th I asked Middelburg If my
parcel will be delivered to my door upon which they replied yes. I was then told the parcel was labelled incorrectly in a
message from Levandre from Courier guy and sent to Groblersdal, but it
will be corrected and will be with us on Wednesday or Thursday. After receiving no call which is visible on my phone on the 25th I
sent a email on 26 October to ask when we can expect the parcel as it
shows its out for delivery for 2 days already. I received a
reply from Bridgette on 26 October at 13:55 that the driver will deliver
today. On 26 October at 16:44 I emailed courier guy again asking "It is now
16:44 and the parcel has not been delivered. May I assume that your
office or driver has stolen it as it has been undelivered since 17
October? Do you advise me to open a theft case tomorrow morning at the
Brits SAPS? Whom do I refer them to in your company?." I
received a reply from Bridgette 16:58 stating the driver delivers up to
19:00 in our area. At 17:03 I receive a message from Bridgette
that the driver has been trying to reach us and he could not, with his
number stating I should contact him. I check my phone and
there is only 1 call registered at 07:21 this morning. The same number
is not registered anywhere on my phone on the previous day or anytime
after 07:21 this morning. No mention was made in any of Bridgettes
emails that the driver could not reach us, and there was no attempts
registered on my phone after 07:21 this morning????? So I phone the
number at 17:04 (how amazing that I reached the driver since he could
never reach me), and I am informed by the driver that he is in
Rustenburg already. So I ask him when he will deliver as Bridgette told
us he delivers up to 19:00. So He says, he is definitely not delivering
today. I inform him that I had asked Bridgette if I must report this to
the police as a theft and the driver said I don't care, GO REPORT ME TO
THE POLICE TOMORROW THEN, AS I REFUSE TO DELIVER YOUR PARCEL TO YOU. I
then send a email to Bridgette at 17:09 advising her that the driver
said I must go to the police tomorrow morning. At 17:12 I
email Bridgette again with the address, GPS, map link, directions which
was originally included in my first message to courier guy.
At 17:17 I try to contact the driver and he's phone is off. So I
whatsapp him my whole direction tab which I originally sent to courier
guy directly. His phone is however off since just after 17:00 and the
message is still pending as I am sending this message. It is
now 19:11 on 26 Oct and I am lodging an official complaint. I still have not
received the parcel, I was told by your driver to go ahead and open a
theft case against him. So I guess, since your driver consented that I
open a case against him for theft, your company must now provide me with his personal details so that I can proceed with the case at SAPS. Or is
this the modus operandi of your company???
This parcel was mishandled from day 1 by your company. It was sent to
the wrong province and I have had to be patient through all of this.
This was an urgent parcel, of which the product I ordered I now had to
re-order from a different company as it was a urgent order. And what is
worse, the second order arrived before the one you still have not
delivered. Not only are you damaging my company but you are also
damaging the reputation of the company I bought this product from in the
first place. And this is not the first time that I have had to complain
about your service. The previous time when I questioned why the parcel
was late, your previous driver informed me - he didn't feel like
driving to this area. You have a branch in BRITS who is 12km from me.
But you deliver via Rustenburg, which is 80km from here. Does this even
make sense????? Besides that, I have an account with courier guy, your
rep was in my shop, and I have a stack of your flyers still here, but
you don't know where I am? Seriously????? I suggest that the Rustenburg
office open their eye, as this email contains the address, GPS, map
link, and directions that any child can follow, unless you need me to
draw a picture too. I deserve an answer from your company, I want my
parcel delivered as you were paid to do, and I deserve a formal apology
from your company and driver for that matter. So today after sending the driver a pin, map location, gps, and written directions to his whatsapp and sms and to the Rustenburg office email, the driver phones me and says he does not know where we are??? I said I will drive to the main road and collect the parcel. He got out of his car, very snotty and high and mighty and when I said I am unhappy with the service I got, said I don't F...en care. Its your problem. So I wrote a note on the waybill stating that it is truly bad service and their company has a 67% negative rating on hellopeter which is appalling. He took the paper and said you stupid @@@ no one will ever see the note since I just need the number on top and the paper I will trow away. I said you can either let them read it or they can hear it from either the police or the Ombudsman, after which I thought he would attack me, I got into my car and locked the door with him aggressively putting his car almost against my boot. I do not ever recommend using courier guy. This is not the first time we have had problems with them and this is not the first time that I have had to lodge a complaint, because in a whole this company does not ever resolve anything, they just sucker the next victim into using their services.

    We rate this wicked company 0. We requested courier guy to pick up and deliver vacuum machine from Durban to midrand, they delivered to the office, after inspecting the machine, we decided to send it back to seller who was happy to refund us as they offer 3 months warranty. Then we dropped off the vacuum to courier guy midrand to send back to the seller. This unprofessional business damaged the equipment. After 3 days of so called checking camera as i was told by Ryno the midrand branch manager and trying to escape from taking responsibility, today We got email that they are not liable even though it was damaged under their care. Now seller can't refund as equipment has been damaged. Courier guy told us sorry they can't do anything. So it means this evil company called Courier Guy charged us + - R1700 to damage the equipment. We losing R7000 for the equipment and about R1700 for nothing. I will not recommend this business to anyone. I will take up this legally until we get justics. The manager at Midrand store Ryno is so insensitive to customer. The regional manager told me nothing can be done, They expect me to just shut up and walk away.

      A hell of a company, they claim to be delivering parcel within 3-5days yet that time passes by without receiving our parcels. I dont recommend it to anyone 😡😡😡😡

        What will you receive when you use "The Courier Guy"?

        For one, a pathetic customer service. You struggle to get through to the call line, then if they eventually pick up the telephone, no one is competent enough to actually help you.

        I asked to be put through to complaints, they refused and said that they will handle the situation, I am still waiting for them to call me back.

        Secondly, the Pudo delivery guys are opening the boxes and stealing stuff right out, they don't care how they handle your boxes, throws and kicks it as they see fit. DISGRACEFUL.

        I will NEVER in my life use this service again, not the courier guy or the Pudo service.

        And if you do not pay attention to this review and still uses this pathetic courier company, well then, a very good luck to you. You will get burned by them.

          I have been using The Courier Guy for a while now (since the start of Covid) and have opened an account with them. During the month of October I sent a parcel with a number of smaller parcels inside to Langebaan. I was phoned by the Vredenburg branch to inform me that the box was dropped, and that a bottle of champagne (that was inside another box in the bigger box) broke.
          Initially, I thought well mishaps do happen, if it is only the champagne then it is ok. The lady told me that the items had been repacked in another box and asked me if I still wanted it delivered, and my reaction was “Of course yes”. She asked me to ask the recipient to send photos once the parcel was delivered. Which I did.
          Well I was horrified, because it was not only the champagne bottle that broke, but the impact of the box being dropped and the liquid from the champagne bottle damaged two of the gift boxes inside the bigger box.
          I sent the photos to the contact at the Vredenburg branch, who said that she would send me a claim form. I filled in the claim form, to claim for the champagne and the two gift boxes that were damaged. There were other items in the box (a pair of brand new Asics, smaller gift box and a new Hoodie), but they were fine.
          Not thinking that this would ever happen, I didn't have everything at hand i.e. slips and invoices. So I estimated the amount I put on the claim form because I had a good idea of what I had spent. I normally use online gift services to send gift boxes, but this time round I decided to do it myself, because there were very specific items I wanted in the gift boxes. If it had been any other occasion, I would have been able to send the invoice from the service provider. Nevertheless, after submitting the claim form I was asked for slips/invoices, which took me a while but I was able to submit it - and it actually ended up being more than the amount I put on the claim form. I was also asked for a letter, my ID, proof of banking details; of which was all submitted.
          After following up, nearly 3 weeks later, it would seem like nothing was done. I was told that they first needed to look at the footage and it would be escalated to the area manager bla bla bla. It was then an issue that the amount on the slips and on the claim forms were not the same (but the amount being claimed for was less). To top it all, they have now asked for photos of the contents of the gift boxes. So, after having had a damaged parcel (and contents) delivered to someone, which was meant to be a gift. Not knowing what they have done with it, I need to try and get photos of something that was damaged and may have even been thrown away. Had I been told this a day or two after the event, this would have been possible, but to come and ask for it 3 weeks later??? And only because I have followed up on the claim.

          I am left baffled at the service provided, and wonder why we South Africans put up with bad service.

            On the 11t of March i booked and paid Courier Guy to collect a parcel from JHB and deliver to KZN, : QGB8C, The stock was collected from my supplier after payment made by me on the 11th of March. somehow they the Courier Guy misplaced one of the parcels and then it became my problem. I called 12 times and till today 18th of march NO answers. i booked an overnight parcel and paid in full for the service, I call and they say they will call me back, but nothing happens. in fact I called 4 times today and 6 times yesterday, still waiting for an answer for their incompetency of loosing or misplacing my parcels.

              The Courier Guy is unreliable and lazy
              I couriered my items from Grahamstown to Durban, and so far, I had my items arriving late, damaged items, and a missing bag

              They have poor lines of communication and excuses all way around. I would not recommend anyone to use that courier company.

                Courier Guy drivers are absolutely lazy, we pay delivery for door to door service. They find it convenient to lie and leave all packages at Concierge when we are home. Today David Ramoshabaz the driver phones me to say that he will leave my package at the concierge as his car is faulty. He comes into the Estate and can access the concierge. He says to me I must just accept it as he is doing me a favor.

                If I wanted to pick it up from somewhere I would have paid for Paxi or Postnet which is cheaper.

                It is not the 1st time that these drivers lie to the admin at concierge to say we the residents said that it must go there. The concierge is a public area we are in Covid's 4th wave some o[censored]s have compromised immune systems and cannot go to public areas.

                If the driver did have a faulty vehicle why does Courier Guy Allow such Vehicles to be on the road?

                  We spend between R 20 000 and R 30 000 per month at The Courier Guy. At first the service and feedback was good, but over the last 2 years it has gone rapidly backwards.

                  A driver delivering some of our stuff in Gauteng and was in a accedent.Needless to say the items was dammaged. We where sent photos of some of the items.On request to where the rest was, there was only ! " This is all that was recovered".

                  Asking where the rest was again !! Also if it has been stolen the answer was " I dont know I was not there"

                  Items is missing but no one knows anything.Missing from the cargo that was recovered means stolen to me.

                  Asking for photos of the damaged vehicle to atleast see if anything about the story matches I was just told" NO" !!

                  They dont care about anything, just to take your money and after that if there is a problem you are on your own.

                  There is also often other peoples deliveries booked on our account. This then takes weeks to sort out . They make the mistake but the client must follow up and try to fix the mistake.

                  When you have a insurance claim with them it also takes months to finalize.Plus you never get back what you should !!!

                  ZERO service, ZERO leadership, ZERO accountability, ZERO ZERO

                  I WILL NOT RECOMMEND THE COURIER GUY TO ANYONE EVER

                  NO WONDER THEY ARE RATED NUMBER 20 IN LOGISTICS !!

                    On 15th March my parcel was send from JHB - Kuruman branch, using courier guy services, i Spoke to the agent sending it and she said she has taped the 2 courier guy plastic bags together, when it arrived at my home yesterday, the 2 parcels wasnt taped together any more, and the one bag was cut open at top and other one was also open on one side, it was big enough to take out the 1 pair of shoes, i then spoke to the customer care man in kuruman and he wasn't very helpful, just told me he will ask the driver that deliverd if he maybe saw it. Why would you hand shoes if you planned to take it... 🤔 i will not make use of courier guy again, this is actual the 2nd time they deliverd stuff that was tampered with, the other parcel didnt even make it to me,

                      Every time a parcel has been sent to me via the courier guy it is not delivered because the driver says there is no one home even though i have been home the whole day waiting for the delivery. Today (27 august 2020) the driver says he was outside my house - but did not call me to say he was there - then went back to the depot. When i phoned the depot i was told my stephan (Phalaborwa depot) that he would call back in 10 minutes. 45 minutes later i called the depot again. Stephan was not even there anymore. I was then informed that the driver says no one was home. When i asked how the driver had tried to contact me they could not answer. They have now said they will deliver tomorriw between 2 and 4pm. I'm wondering if that will happen! Can someone please get the phalaborwa depot to train their driver so that he can know to contact a person when he is outside their house! And like i've said this happens regularly.

                        We booked a parcel for collection on friday, for monday. Nobody pitched to collect so i called and received pathetic service from the johannesburg branch from the manger fanie and sisca. They are unable to find the call, which i find hard to believe i had a lengthy call with the useless lady on friday, who obviously didn't do something correct and cant find the recording and obviously is now covering up instead of apologizing, this parcel was urgent and they seem to give a dame, i was asked by the manager after i told him everything so what can i do!!! Is this your customer services a manger speaking like he gives two hoots! There number should anybody follow up[protected].

                          Talking about courier services, I had a bad experience with thecourierguy in South Africa.I have been the Courierguy for a few months now.
                          Right from the very beginning I vave been having problems with the courier service that the courierguy delivers.
                          They always arive late to collect the goods, or sometimes even the next day, with a proper explanation, When I query their poor courier service peformance, they pass the buck on to the courierguy franchise driver.

                          When I tell them that the courierguy is the parent company and must insure that goods are picked up on time as promised by them, they say "NO".The Courierguy franchisee is responsible for his area.When I speak to the courierguy franchisee (I see him all the time when he comes to pickup)
                          about the late pickups, He says he is doing his best to collect on time, buy the courier guy will instruct him on who to pick up from first.

                          I inform him that he is the courierguy franchisee for this area, and he is responsible for on time collection and deliveries.He says that he realizes that, but the courierguy retains absolute control of all areas, through their franchise agreement.He has paid hundreds of thousands for his courier guy franchise for this area, and he has no say to improve the performance in his area, because the courierguy calls all the shots, and he is basically a driver that is used by the courier guy and not a real courierguy franchisee.

                          I asked him why did he spend so much money buying the courierguy franchise?He said that the courierguy painted such a rosy picture of the courierguy franchise, that he was taken in by it, and it was the biggest mistake that he made, and cannot wait to sell his franchise and get out.
                          It then struck me that I was also taken in by their fancy brochure, bragging about how wonderful and efficient they are and The Courier Guy is trusted, recognised and the fastest growing courier company in South Africa. WHAT A LOAD OF HOGWASH.
                          Its time for me to find a more reliable and trustworthy courier service, thats not the likes of the courier guy.
