The university promised to refund the fee after deducting some amount in 45 days if applied for refund under the prescribed time period by the university . It's been more than 45 days University is not replying to my mails and refunding my money...

I Paid Two times payment and didn't refund my payment and yet not my upes form not submitted but I contact upes but didn't response properly and my issue didn't resolved. I will not appear give exam in the upes. Plz my both payment refund me as soon as....

My name is Saransh Kumar and I took admission to the BBA course in UPES on 14th Oct. 22 and was allotted a hostel room the same day. My Admission Application Number is 32213709; and SAP ID is[protected].

I paid Rs. 85, 000 as part-payment for Tuition Fee but was asked to pay the full hostel fee amounting to Rs. 1, 80, 000 for the whole year.
I was assured by an UPES official Mr Charan, who was facilitating and processing my fee deposit that I would be refunded the entire sum, including the hostel fee, if I chose to withdraw within a week or 7 days of taking admission and attending class.

Two days later upon taking admission, I withdrew from the hostel and the college on 16th Oct, and submitted an application for the entire refund amount that I was promised earlier.

On 16th Dec. 22, I was refunded Rs. 85, 000 that was deposited as Tuition Fee. Now officials like Mr Ashish Sati, with whom I have been corresponding with regarding refund of hostel fee amounting to Rs. 1, 80, 000, say that UPES refund policy allows for 100% deduction after 30 days of class commencement even if a student takes admission after 30 days of commencement of class and occupies the hostel for just two days, as in my case.

Had I been told that I would forfeit and lose the entire hostel fee of Rs. 1, 80, 000 if I chose to withdraw even a day after joining, I would have opted for outside accommodation. But UPES officials deliberately did not inform me correctly that I was exposing myself to "forfeiture" of hostel fee for a year by paying the fee since I was taking admission more than a month after classes started.

Why was I not told about the hostel refund policy in an honest and transparent fashion? Why was I led to believe that I would be refunded the entire hostel fee if I left within 7 days of taking admission whereas they now contend that the refund policy become null and void after 30 days of the start of classes?

I would like the higher authorities at UPES, including its VC, Dean, Registrar and others to look into my case and judge whether a first year BBA student who took admission on 14th Oct and withdrew on 16th Oct should be made to lose Rs. 1, 80, 000 because of the motivated and misguided actions of its staff and officials. How does it reflect on the values and ethos o[censored]PES and the way it treats the interests of students?

I m not getting OTP for refund on my registered mobile number nor in email.I talked to some councellors zthey told me to check in Bank and reboot my phone .I did that too .Bank told me no error from my phone .Then counsellors told me it may be due to technical error in server or website and it will be resolved in few days .I m trying to proceed for refund since 9th November 2022, but still I didn't get OTP on my phone . As per the conversation with Suman and Akansha, dated 20 April 2022 regarding the refund of MBA fees.

Both of them agreed with after knowing our issue, our details and said us to put mail for refund before examination as they will not be able to refund post that exam, because "As per the policy o[censored]pes" as candidate can claim refund only before the commencement of session.

Me and My friends (who took admission together) posted mail as told by them eligible for the same and In reply they asked for our bank details and we provided the same
but they later said us to mail individually.

But after five days on my mail, I got reply from Ms Garima that my refund can't be initiated because
As your session is already commenced (As in between 3 exams were already gone as exams started from 21 April itself). I got in touch with Garima and made her understand that this was already discussed. Garima replied back to me that she can't refund and asked me to check with Akansha once again who confirmed me about my refund.

Akansha on the other hand asked me to check with Suman as my programme comes under her and inform me that no refund been initiated by their end, since then both of them not answering my calls.

I have enrolled in IB but ma'am at the time of taking admission Ms Divya, the coordinator said to us that candidate can choose specialization post second sem.

Now I have skipped my exams and my refund not had been initiated whereas my friends has already been received refund.

I m really disappointed as I already skipped my exams and now you are changing your policy in every mail along with changing persons on mail. What can I candidate do if an institution with such fame starting making us fool by not answering my calls. I have all the mails and call recordings in which above said commitments by your all spokespersons were given.
I request you as per your policy (candidate is eligible for refund prior to exam) kindly refund my fee as my time has already been wasted alot in all these conversations .
I hope I won't get cheated by such a university and receive my refund as early as possible

I have submitted my samples for Cellulose, Hemicellulose and Lignin in the month of October 2020. On the basis of correspondence, I was asked for a 50% payment, which I had at the same time. I was given a timeline of 3 months. The 8 samples were submitted to the CIC, UPES.

Few days back, when i was performing the experiment in chemistry lab, my hand was burnt due to hot muffle furnace. I asked for help. After instructing me to stand for 10 minutes i was told to go to infirmary because no ointment was available in the r&d center. Moreover after going to infirmary, firstly you have to fill the credentials no matter what the situation is. I was very disappointed because our parents have sent their children after relying the trust upon the university that our child would be safe here, but these type of silly mistakes can degrade the name of the university.

Sir i am swapnil pal i had taken admission in upes law course in july 2016 but due to admission in another law college i had to withdraw from upes. When asked for refund of fees they said u have to submit refund application via email when i sent the refund application nobody contacted me and when tried to call them their phones are either out of coverage or switched off

I have deposited Rs.132500.00/- on 31st December 2016, to UPES Dehradun towards my 6th Sem tuition fee through PayUMoney portal. Payment was successful and SBI transcition no. in[protected]. The payment was also conformed by PayUMoney with ID[protected]. However, I did not received the receipt but PayUMoney has conformed the payment through SMS, I am also attaching the screenshot.

The UPES has informed me that they have not received the payment.

It is requested to either make the payment to UPES under my SAP ID no.[protected] or revert back the same immediately.

I am a 2nd year student of CIT, UPES. Leave aside everything else. What do you guys think students are? Are we from a foreign land where only intellectuals are born or what?
You give us a load of subjects in the first year. Rest of the universities complete those in 2 years but we do it within a single year! You gave us C in first semester and c++ in the second both including data structures and advanced data structures. The result was that none of your faculty was able to teach anything. Leave aside up to the mark.
You give cabins and importance to teachers like Dr. Kamal Kumar. On what grounds I say? Because of his degrees?
Let me get this straight, That man does not know how to teach students. He comes to class where more than 90% of students don't get what he actually teaches and the ones who get what he teaches have their own self study plans and are toppers.
This is such a pressure for average students like us. We just don't understand what goes on in his class.
Underqualified teachers of OS, Discrete maths.
We get pressurized because there are so many subjects and no good teacher to teach us.
You also give us E-labs and tell us about deadline the last day. Are you out of your goddamn minds. How the hell are students supposed to complete such big tasks in such a short while. Where rest of the subjects also await completion of assignments. This was specifically about Dr. Kamal Kumar. He does that. And how are we supposed to complete those e- labs when we dont know anything about the questions and stuff in it as we are not taught properly about any.

Do something College. Or else you'll be ruining lives of average minds that can do wonders in their desired fields.

 your placement was never 100% since inception. this is well known to everyone working there but on paper you forge it. upes is master of forgery!

University of petroleum & energy studies (Upes), located at dehradun with main campus in bidholi village 25 km from main city. This a private university operated be some corporate businessman’s. I have in person studied and worked here for a total of five years. I think it my duty to provide an insight incidences/happening about upes which might help you in taking your decision about this university.
My observations are as follows:
Merits:
1. The location o[censored]pes is just behind mussorie hills. There also trekking route from upes back gate to mussorie with a fishing point (River) in between. Also the campus is neat and clean and well maintained. I consider it an option to tour upes for a few days if you have some time. This only merit it has right now.
Demits:
1. The actual fees (Not fees structure) and other expenses like industrial tour, summer classes, reevaluation, direct study, corticated issue, library and other activities are very high. If you are on a student loan then kindly avoid this university and you will not able to clear your loan on your salary and in the end become a bank defaulter at a young age.

2. Teaching and research quality is poor and mismanaged also.

3. Placement cells officials treat the final year students badly when they contently enquire about a job offer. Placement is very poor means up to 40-50%; with most of the jobs in hand salary is approximately 15, 000 rupees per month. They will show you tall promises and companies coming but in actuality they are not capable enough to put their 3rd year students of engineering in summer internship also.In the end they pressurize student to go and get it on their own. You can verify this with 4th year students in private.

4. This time in year 2016 almost 50% seats in engineering are lying vacant in upes. For a glimpse power system engineering registered students 5 out of 60, electrical engineering 30/60, electronics engg 25/60, instrumentation 0/60, energy trading 0/ 60, mechanical deptt 250/500, civil engineering 30/60, geoscience 30/60, automotive design engg 45/60, applied petroleum 45/60 etc.In nut and shell upes is a sinking ship now.

5. Faculty qualification and quality is questionable. 90 % faculty are ph. D. From upes itself or are pursuing ph. D. From there, which believe is worthless degree of this university. This university do not any research facility, software (In actual), ieee full fledge subscriptions etc. Everything is for formality or on paper. They teach their faculty to be nicely dressed like a gentleman that’s it.

6. One faculty of law cores was caught taking bribe (Cash) for increasing their attendance is his course. Seldom faculty asks for alcohol, wine etc. For marks or attendance. You can verify this online.

7. One dean was caught asking for sexual favor from girl students by calling them at his residence. This you can too verify.

8. Naac committee which provides grades to indian universities as per their performance has awarded grade ‘c’ to upes because of its worst academic performance and this is the lowest grade awarded to any indian university. You can directly verify this from upes as they do not disclose this information.

9. They tried many times to get rid of c grade called naac for reevaluation but still they gave honestly c grade.

10. They do not provide course books study material to students from the library so as to cover all the courses of a semester. They will charge you full for the books will provide you 3-4 books for a semester, ask you to buy others own your own and take the issued one back and then again issue then to juniors after taking money from them. Verify this too directly from the librarian face to face.

11. Engineering degrees given by upes are not accepted for government jobs. 100 % verify this from passed out. This true for 80% degrees o[censored]pes and mostly students came to know this when they apply for a government job and go for an interview. Students went for strike due to this in upes for 15 days but nothing happened.In the end they say government jobs are boring go for private jobs.

12. Laboratories in upes are in worst of its state do visit them. Except (Physics & chemistry labs which are average) all other labs worst than labs in other small private colleges in terms of lab space, technicians, equipment quality, latest experiments, working condition of software available. Upes spends least money on labs, keep a note of this point.

13. Sold out, yes upes is sold out to laureate group whose sole purpose is only to increase its profits. This is despite of the fact that upes call itself a non profit organisation. Various cases in uttarakhand courts are registered on upes in issues like this.

As per ugc norm any university has to refund all the fees charged by a student for any course after deducting some nominal fees. We know that admission are nil in upes in 2016 but we want to withdraw our admission from such a fake organization. Refund fees of all the students of face court trail and publicity online and in print media. Do not try to counsel us for keeping our admission in this bakwass university
