Complainant Information: Name: Meenal Contact Number: [protected] Email ID: [protected]@gmail.com Company Information: Company Name: BYJU'S Company Contact Number:[protected]Toll-free) Company Email ID: [protected]@byjus.com Nature of Complaint: Category: Consumer Grievance Type of Complaint: Refund Not Processed / Deficiency in Service Complaint Description: I am the mother of Manikkavalli R., who is currently in class 11th. I attended the NEET Orientation Counselling class on December 8, 2023 conducted by Byju's and made two payments totalling Rs. 12, 000 (Six Thousand each). Payment Details: Payment on December 8, 2023: Amount: Rs. 6000 Reference number/Txn ID: BYJUS[protected] Payment method: UPI Payment on December 9, 2023: Amount: Rs. 6000 Reference number/Txn ID: BYJUS[protected] Payment method: UPI I initially paid this advance amount during the admission process. However, after seeing the high fees (nearly ₹1 lakh), we decided not to proceed with the admission and requested a refund of the advance amount of ₹12, 000. I have requested a refund due to the inconvenience of fees and my daughter's lack of interest in attending the class, but my request remains unresolved despite multiple follow-ups. I have messaged them on X ( @byjusSupport ) and submitted an online complaint on their website. I also emailed [protected]@byjus.com. I called the person who handled my admission, but after responding two days later, he stopped attending my calls. I’ve received no response on WhatsApp either. I have contacted BYJU'S customer care many times, but often they only speak in Hindi, and when I ask for help in Tamil, they make me wait on the line for over an hour. Tamil customer care has repeatedly stated they will process my request soon from the beginning, but it has now been nearly one year with no resolution. The English customer care also says they will check and update me, telling me to wait for 45 days. After this period, they treat my follow-up as a new complaint, and I still have not received a refund. Every time I follow up, they make me wait for long periods. Because of these issues, my family scolds me every day for wasting money, which has caused me significant mental pressure. I have tried asking them more than 50 times in different ways, but no one is refunding my money. Even though I have told them I am going to complain in consumer court, they do not seem to care about my words. Therefore, I have decided to proceed with consumer complaints. I request a refund of ₹12, 000 along with compensation, as they have made me wait nearly one year and have not responded to my concerns, causing family problems and mental distress.
