[Resolved]  car dealers — vague price

Address:Maharashtra

hi friends.. my experience at bkc car world thane... got interested in buying a 1995 bmw 316 petrol. vehicle said to be second owner.. price quoted to me 4.5 lakhs.... friends this 18 year old car has a consumer value on present day of approx. 1 to 1.5 lacs. and the depreciation and price is available at bmc office at manish market mumbai or from the car insurance companies such as new india assurance etc.. also told that owner has just replaced the complete gearbox with new one imported from germany.. a new or a used gearbox for a bmw would cost more than its present day value.. and besides that 15 year and over cars dont get comprehensive insurance,, that means in case of any accidental losses or claims the owner gets nothing.for yr information.. a 1996 merc e220 petrol costs 1 lac 65 thousand..(experienced the deal). so why should a 1995 bmw having smaller engine..etc... cost more than the merc whereas both vehicles belong to same category.
a previous experience with the same owner of bkc world having his branch at kurla cst road...he was selling a 1989 or 1990 mercedes 190D... he quoted me 3.5 lacs for the vehicle. when i drove the car and conversated with the owner of the car he said that he actually bought the car for 1 lac 60 thousand only.. he spent a lot on it and had replaced the automatic gearbox with a used manual one bought from cst road kurla.. during my conversation regarding the bmw 1.6 at thane, he again invited my interest in buying the same 1989 merc stating that the owner replaced the gearbox which was imported from germany... i disclosed him the truth that i had actually found from the merc owner and the dealer was just showing a shameless grim on his face.. i also concluded that even the bmw owner must have bought the gearbox from cst road.. and then he had no words..what a cheating situation..... people... i want everyone to know that old imported vehicles no matter whatsoever good or care taken they are.. after 15 years find no comprehensive insurance unless its being continued since beginning.. i have an example of my own 1991 toyota corolla single owner car of which my father had maintained comprehensive insureance till the last day we disposed it off...that was last year.. and the value of the vehicle on comprehensive documents was 50000 rupees.. it was run 98000 kilometers.so pls dont just get carried away by imported or used cars 15 years and over which cost nothing more than 1 to 1.5 lacs. well i ended up buying a 2003 honda accord for 3.5 lacs... i believe a consumer has a full right to information and as a customer he is a king and should pay what he feels correct for the price.... the solution i found to these dealer situations is by saying a big no loud out to such people.. hope this topic helps everyone..

There is a Marina Garden near my house where there is a lane road where I used to park my car but now the car dealer has come here who keeps 10 to 15 cars which he exports from here. We have a problem with 1 car, you cannot even keep a car in the building, it also threatens our safety, so please remove this car from here and request
