Sir I had bought a 2 ton carrier window ac on august 2016 ie. 1 year 8 months back. I was under impression that it was a reputed brand. However, on 18/4/2018 when we checked the ac for summers, we found that the cooling was not there. A complaint was lodged on 20/4/2018 regarding no cooling with your call centre. The service centre person came after 2 days. He inspected the ac and advised us of gas leak from the joints (Tanka) of the cooling coil. He took the ac and returned it after 1 day. I was charged rs.2, 650/- for servicing and filling of gas. However, 2 days later the cooling stopped again. A complaint was lodged again. This time the service personal did not come till i complained another 2-3 times. This time again they took the ac for gas filling. The following day they told me that the cooling coil needs to be replaced. And that i need to pay rs. 4, 200/- for it. I told them that the life of cooling coil cannot be 1 year and 8 months and that this is a manufacturing defect. And they should not charge me for this. Yesterday, on 1st may 2018, i spoke to mr sanjay shukla, area manager, carrier. He agreed that the coil should not get bad so soon, but told me that it was out of warranty period. He said he will try to get the coil replaced by the company at no cost to me if possible. He promised to call me. But he never, did call me after that. Later on the same day i spoke to one mr kulbhushan (Midea) regarding the same issue. He promised me that he will try to give some discount on the cooling coil and that he will call me the next day on 2nd may 2018. He too never called back. My question is that i have 5 window ac’s in my house. Out of which fujitsu general ac is at my house for last 15 years. I have never had any gas leak or cooling coil problem with it. If carrier ac is having a cooling coil problem in less than 2 years, then that means that the product is 1- either substandard or 2- having some manufacturing defect which has gone unnoticed. I am sure that the carrier is a brand company of good reputation. My request to the carrier company is that the cooling coil be replaced at no cost to me.
