Carrier Midea India — Faulty Air conditioner from Carrier (Cyclojet model)

Dear Sir,

I had purchased 1.5 ton Air Conditioner unit from Carrier Midea India PVT Ltd on 2-Apr-2017 from their authorized dealer at Chennai (invoice attached). This model comes with cylindrical model outdoor unit (called as Cyclojet).

I encountered lack of chillness in the unit on 3-Jun-2024 and reported to Carrier Midea customer care. They sent a technician who checked and confirmed that the outdoor (cyclojet) unit has gas leak. He also mentioned that the leakage with the Cycloget outdoor unit can’t be repaired at all (as it can’t be arrested and even if its arrested, it leads to leaks elsewhere). The issue is because of the weak condenser coil mechanism used in this model (Carrier Superia 1.5 ton). Typically, gas leaks in horizontal units can be repaired. But the cyclojet unit has a manufacturing defect and hence can't be repaired. This is why this cycloget outdoor model was stopped by the company already because it was a failure outdoor model. The company also does not provide spare coil anymore for this model.

The company has said they can't repair the product. Since the product can't be repaired, i have to throw away this unit and purchase a new one. Since its a manufacturing defect, the company is obligated to compensate the customer for the faulty unit so that the customer can buy a new one. Hence, i had requested for a free replacement of outdoor unit (or provide necessary compensation for the outdoor unit) but they are not ready to oblige. They are not ready to compensate me.

Hence, requesting you to pls intervene and help with getting the compensation for the same.
