I am a parent of class 11 student. We reside in Kochi, Kerala. I requested admission for my son to class 11 in Greets Public School, Ashoka road, Kaloor., Kerala. It was lockdown time and we spoke only over phone. They asked me to pay Rs. 20, 000 ( 10, 000 caution deposit, 5000 admission fees, 5000 registration fees). I made the payment online but they did not give any receipt. Neither they confirmed the admission. One week later I got admission in a nearby cbse school. So I asked them to refund the money. But they said they will refund only caution deposit, Rs.10, 000. That too only if I apply for a transfer certificate. All this happened in May much before the classes started. Since my son did not study there even for one day, why do I need the transfer certificate? But the school is saying that is the procedure. And why are they charging me Rs.10, 000 for speaking on the phone?I feel this is not fair especially during this Covid time when everyone is facing financial problems.

I'm SASMITA V of class XII, CBSE Board student, Chellammal Vidyalaya Senior Secondary School (Affiliation code 1930673), Kallanai Road, Tiruchirapalli, Tamilnadu. I got less Mark in biology and physics in class XII board results released on 30th July 2021 . I got 95% (100%in mathematics) in class X CBSE Board exam and also I got good score in class 11th and 12th exams conducted in school . While I contact the school officials they told that it few marks was changed by CBSE and its not the school who sent . This is very disappointing and it affects my future .My past two years hardwork has become useless, because of the previous one year students performance( we are the 2nd batch of the school). Don't judge the student performance from one year passed out students. Why should I won't study better than previous year students?..why is my future affected because of them?.So, I NEED JUSTICE

            Respected director sir,

My son HARSHIT roll no:26620059 studying in brahmashakti public school, begumpur, delhi school code:85175.

He scored 88.75(top 3 theory only) in class 10th, 90.2 in class 11th and as per his past performance we easily expect 88-95 in class 12 pre boards as the exact marks wasn't shared by the school.
Acc. To your criteria he should be scoring 88.7-92% in 12th but he got 74.2%
We asked the school authorities so they answered that this was the result of the moderation done by cbse and they haven't changed any marks by their end, what kind of moderation is this, ±5% might have been acceptable as per your policy, but a margin of 14/16% moderation is not at all acceptable by any parent.
He is preparing for IIT and next year onward when the relief in eligibility criteria(75%) would be withdrawn, he won't be eligible for the exam even though he is capable, you have destroyed careers and hopes of my ward, kindly look into the matter and correct the marks acc. To your 30/30/40 criteria.

The marks declared by CBSE for my son Mohammed Khalid, Roll No – 11621504, pursuing 12 class from Puna international school, Ahmedabad is wrong.
There seems some big mistake in the computation of the marks.

My son scored 87.2% marks in 10th class, 91.6% in 11th class.

                The 12th class result submitted by the school to the board in theory is English - 67/80, Maths – 54/80, Physics – 56/70, Chemistry – 60/70 and Physical education – 60/70, totaling - 297/370 and in practicals English – 19/20, Maths – 19/20, Physics – 26/30, Chemistry – 26/30 and Physical education – 28/30, totaling – 118/130.

And with the calculation as per the formula given by the CBSE this year 30:30:40 for theory marks, his final subject wise marks should be English - 67/80, Maths – 66/80, Physics – 61/70, Chemistry – 61/70 and Physical education – 63/70, totaling 318/370 and practical same, than the total final marks should be 436/500 i.e 87% marks.

Whereas as per the declared result by the board his marks are English - 65/80, Maths – 41/80, Physics – 41/70, Chemistry – 54/70 and Physical education – 51/70, totaling 252/370 only and practical same which totals to 370/500 i.e 74% marks.

There seems a big mistake in the calculation of the final result by the CBSE board.

Subject wise marks difference in theory are as
English it should be 67/80 whereas declared as 65/80, variation of 2 marks
Maths it should be 66/80 whereas declared as 41/80 only variation of 25 marks
Physics it should be 61/70 whereas declared as 41/70 only variation of 20 marks
Chemistry it should be 61/70 whereas declared as 54/70 only variation of 7 marks
Physical Education it should be 63/70 whereas declared as 51/70 only variation of 12 marks

Please help out in this matter, as this 12th class marks are the base for all students for further studies.

Request CBSE board to re calculate the final theory marks as per the formula given and approved by the supreme court.

Then how school can give me just 86.6%.(specially in maths -95 in 10th about 90 in 11th i have not done any single mistake in preboards even then cbse has given me only 75 marks(55 marks in theory) which is totally meaningless and i feel school or cbse has done mistakes in my result. The complain is regarding unfair and non transparent class 12 marking in Apeejay Pitampura. My Sisters ward was given Mark's that are much less than other students whose performance has been much inferior.

It is a request to CBSE to audit the marking procedure and provide relief to the students who have been unfairly dealt with.

                                  Dear Sir/Madam

My son Prakhar Varshney, Roll Number ...School code 85185 had appeared for class XIIth examination during the session 2020-21 for which result has also been declared on 30.07.2021. Considering the present Pandemic situation, CBSE had decided to declare the result based on past records and internal assessment by the respective schools. Accordingly, detailed guidelines had also been issued by CBSE. To my surprise the marks scored by my son are only 77.2% which when simulated based on CBSE guidelines and past records(Class Xth 93.44%, XIth 72.4%, XIIth practical almost full, class XII pre-Board theory 90.27%) works out to be more than 95%.

From the above outcome, it appears there has been some tabulation and or typographical error in punching the data by the school. Since present pandemic situation is not over, it may not be feasible to appear for actual examination and poor marks may spoil the entire career of my son, it is requested my past records may be rechecked under direct supervision of CBSE.

CALCULATING MARKS IN CBSE XIITH BOARD EXAM: 2021

                                        1. Method of calculating is as follows:

                                        (a) Component A – 40% of the theory marks scored by the student in Unit test/ Midterm test/ Pre board exam.

                                        (b) Component B – 30%of theory marks scored by the student in XI final exam.

                                        (c) Component C – 30% of average marks secured in 3 best scoring subjects of Xth board exam.

                                        (d) Total marks = (A + B + C)

                                        2. Marks awarded to the student in class XII are to be in consonance with past performance of the school in XII board exam. Maximum variation permitted to the school is 2% and/ or 5 marks per subject from the reference year datum marks.

                                        3. Marks secured by the student in Practical/ Internal assessment would be as uploaded by the school (without any reference to the marks secured by students in previous year or based on past performance of the school in XIIth board exam).

OBSERVATIONS/ OBJECTIONS TO THE CBSE POLICY

                                        4. As per Annexure 3 (Illustrative example for internal moderation of marks) it appears that marking/ assessment for students in 2021 has to be in the same distribution ratio as it was for year 2020. Therefore, even if the students have performed better than previous year they can’t be marked as per their performance because of the reference year/ batch rule. This rule is not applicable if exams are conducted in schools (offline mode). The policy thus appears in contravention to law of natural justice.

                                        5. Extrapolating marks of 20 students of 2020 batch (arbitrary number) over a batch of 200 students in 2021 batch is bound to create errors. CBSE has not mentioned any minimum and maximum ratio of students from reference year batch to current year batch, for applying this policy either.

                                        6. Rationale document Annexure 2 is not available for students and/ or parents to view and the logic of the Result Committee is not disclosed either. It is presumed that the same has been perused by CBSE officials and assessed for it veracity to avoid favouritism/ bias.

                                        7. Performance of reference year/ previous batch students being used to assess performance of 2021 batch is flawed as it can lead to extreme errors in assessment if performance of students varies vastly between previous/ reference year batch to the batch of 2021. Hence, performance of students appearing for 12th board in 2021 is being assessed as per the demonstrated performance of their predecessors, which defies logic and law of natural justice.

Averaging out the marks deducted (moderated as per CBSE reference year rule) this student loses 20.74 marks per subject due to poor performance of students who appeared 12th CBSE board exam in 2020 from Sankalp Public School (50662). Average marks secured by students of this school in 2020 batch of AISSE 12th board exam is 38.7% which has lead to such a drastic downward moderation. However the moderation has not been applied equitably to all students as 4 students have secured 90%+ in spite of moderation (as per school).

                                        8. Moderation of marks scored based on reference year data needs to be cancelled and marking/ assessment redone to benefit students.
