[Resolved]  Abn Amro — Blackmailing to include my name in RBI Defaulter List

Hi,

In 2005, I took the Credit Card from ABN AMRO, every month they started including some amount as one or the other charges, finally after 3 months, I made the last payment and while making it I had cut the card into four pieces and gave it back to them along with the cheque and a letter. They encashed the cheque but did not send me any acknowledgement for the card.

Today, on 26 June 2009, a person called from ABN AMRO and said that I owe Rs.6500+ to them. I told them that I had not bought anything with that card, he said that those were the charges. When I explained him that I had sent the card to them he said that do you have the NOC. I said that unless they send it I cannot receive it. He siad that it was my problem and on a very rude tone he said that unless I pay the dues he insisted putting my name into the defaulter's list.

These kind of rogue banks are using RBI's name to Blackmail the people. Something needs to be done on these kind o[censored]seless banks which has only one ATM in the whole of Bangalore.

I am also facing the same problem from HDFC Bank.

I own a card from HDFC Bank till year 2004. They send me a renewal fee in monthly statment. I called them and informed i am not interested in to continue this card any more. Phone banking officer guide me to pay the dues minus renewal charges and cut the card in small pieces and throw away. I did so as informed.

Now after 5 years I got a call from HDFC bank and they informed I am owning Rs. 4500/- apprx on my card. I shocked after hearing it and explained the situation to him. Bank officer said you don't pay full amount and invited me for a sattlement, which I denied and asked for last card statment. According to bank officer since the card is now blocked they do have statment, and their system can show only last balance. I am getting threatning calls every 15-20 day's regarding the dues. Every time i asked for a statment which they are not providing to me. They are now abusing and insulting me on phone and telling me if i dont pay the due they will put my name in defaulter'slist.

I request RBI to look into this matter.
ABN AMRO IS ANTI INDIAN BANK... they are here to cheat indians ... their Banking / Credit Card Systems all are aganist Indians...they just are here to Rob Indian Money and suffer Indians
