[Resolved]  Agarwal Packers & Movers — Poor Handling of household goods, recd in broken condition.

I had booked my house hold items to be transferred from Chandigarh to Kolkata.

I had fallen to the big name of Agarwal Packers & Movers & shortlisted their service to do the needful.
I was allured by the false advertisement by Agarwal Packers in their web site.
I had no idea how bad I was going to be treated.

First of all my major furniture items were recd in broken condition and worst of all my mattress was misplaced altogether.

Upon conforming the concerned person incharge of the items recd in broken condition, they were totally indifferent and just kept on saying that the person from customer complaints deptt will visit to access the demage. But none of the guys have come even after repeated reminders.

Of the item which was lost in transit, they claimed to have found the item & it was promised that the same will be delivered in one days time. Same is nto recd even after 5 days of repeated reminders.

The items broken / misplaced are listed as below:
* Sofa main 3 seater (totally broken beyond use) --- Rs. 30000/-
* Dining Table (totally demaged beyond use) --- Rs. 7000/-
* Spring Mattress (size double bed) - Lost in transit --- Rs. 28000/-
* Centre table (demaged) - Cost of repair --- Rs. 4000/-

Our refrigerator got saved since we had kept the original packing with us which came handy at the time of trnasfer. But even that had very hard beating which was visible from the condition of the packaging material.

Some glass crockery got broken as well but that is not worth the price to be mentioned or claimed about.

Over all the experience was a harrowing one.

These people claim to be the no 1 packers & movers in the country, but they are the [censored]iest ones.
To my utter surprise they dont have any customer complaint no or any such link posted on their web site. The only people dealing with the complaints are the local guys who are not even competent for the job. They dont even have the curtesy enough to keep the word they give to the client.

The worst thing which came to light after having discussions with them was that our items after packing were loaded on a truck which unloaded it at one of their local godown in Chandigarh.
From there another truck carried our goods alongwith goods from another household and were unloaded at another godown in Kolkata. There after another truck carried our goods to be delivered at our house.

Any one can imagine how beautifully the goods were handeled in all these transfers that most valuable ones got demaged.

In the process they even violated the promise they made that our goods will be transferred separately and no other goods will be carried alongside our goods.

I would urge all not to book your cherished house hold items through Agarwal Packers even if they are the last ones on the planet.

They are so worthless that they dont even know how to carry wooden items & how to carry steel or glass items.
