[Resolved]  Airtel Digital TV — Bad Service & Worse Customer Care

I bough a new Airtel Digital TV connection on 31st Dec 2008. It was installed same day and at the time of taking the package for 2500/-, i was told that the Ultra pack is free for first 3 months. I was given a 500 Rs. Voucher which i used to activate & get the customer ID. I wa also handed over Rs. 2000/- voucher and told to activate within 3 days, which i promptly did second day only. Despite the charging and receipt of confirmation on SMS, the customer ID, balance, validity etc. did not reflect in my account.

on 17th Jan 2009, the TV stopped working. It said the card is not authorised. Then began my first experience as a customer with the Customer care deptt. of Airtel.

First call: I was told that the Rs. 500/- voucher was not recharged properly, so recharge the same again and it will start. Result: Nothing happenned after recharging.

Second Call: I was told that the recharge of 500 & 2000 is showing OK in their systems. There is some technical problem. They will refresh the system so keep the Set Top Box ON. It will start working within half hour. Result: Nothing happenned till 2 hours.

Third Call: Same reply. Technical Problem. Refreshing again. Will work within few minutes. Result:Nothing for next 3 hours.

Fourth Call: I insisted to talk to the manager as i was not getting any favourable result from customer care executives. Manager listened to the complaint and also counted the hours the problem was persisting (More than 12 hours !!) He made me go through a technical jugglery (Swith off main power, take out view card, reinsert it etc. ) Result: Nil. He informed that the compleint has been registered and will revert. When asked about TAT (Turn Around Time) i was shocked to listen the reply !! 24 HOURS MINIMUM !!!.

Fifth Call: Received call from their technical team next morning. Again same reply (Refreshing. Keep Sert TOP Box on). Result. Nothing.

Imagine a customer expecting world class DTH service as promised and out of the 3 Months free package, the services stopping within 15 days !!! And despite no fault of the customer, i am without TV for more than 36 Hours... Worse than my local Cable guy... Never such a thing happened ever with him..

Result: Worse kind of service by Airtel and pathetic customer care... I regret the decision to go for Airtel after arguing with my wife who was in favour of Tata SKY. I regret my decision within 15 days. Am sure am not going to renew my account after the initial free period is over;

My appeal to all future customers of Airtel DTH, Dont go for such a company who dont care a damn about customers... Just go through all the lists of complaints against Airtel at this website and then make your mind whether its better to save few bucks or suffer later for no fault...

This is reference to the above Cust ID. We have purchased one digital connection last for one year south package. It is working fine. We got a free coupon from Airtel during the new postpaid mobile connection. Mob No [protected]. We have sent the SMS to “54325” on 30.12.08 and got the acknowledgement for the same. Even today, 17.01.09 after 19 days the same is not activated. We have contacted your customer care and wasted more than 5 times. We even talk to the floor manage in your customer care center.



Why it is happening like this. Will any one give us an answer?

tell me which method im using the rechage.im seriuosly despoint about Airtel service.
i completely agree with all the cheated customers.airtel service is the worst ever.they are irresponsible and are thief's marketing their services.I WARN ALL THE PEOPLE WHO ARE THINKING TO OPT FOR ANY SERVICES FROM AIRTEL.THE BEST OPTION FOR DTH SERVICE IS UNDOUBTEDLY TATSKY.WHICH TREATS ITS CUSTOMERS WITH RESPECT.


IN SHORT AIRTEL SERVICES ARE THE MOST HORRIBLE ONE THE MARKET.AND IT SURELY IS A TERRIFYING EXPERIENCE THAT I HAD WITH AIRTEL.THEY SHOULD BE SUED AND SHOULD STOP ALL THEIR SERVICES.
All these companies must have physical offices in each city/town where customers can barge in if their complaints are not rectified in reasonable timeframe and there must be a city based subscribers union where customers can give real feedback on percentage of those having problems and get true picture.

AIRTEL DIGITAL TV — Bad Service & warranty Problem

i am Mahendra have Airtel Digital TV, I was purchased before 5 month & i got problem from last 3 months, nobody taking any action on it. when we call to customer care they told to contact Dealer & dealer is not listing i have to complaint daily, i want to say all people that airtel digital TV is a bad product & Bad services from it 2 times set top box changed but it was not succesfully running. so all person who think to purchase Airtel digital TV they think about its services & Product.

I have taken this connection on Sunday that is on 18th.
From the day 1, i was facing problems and many times i have contacted customer care.
To tell you the fact you have a poor customercare rep. and one person is saying one thing and the other on his on opinion.
I had taken South Super and i have Surya TV, Suvarna TV and Kiran TV to get and from the day one i said i am not getting and they say to switch off the receiver and then take card and then to insert and switch on... And i do as a fool always and waiting for 30 min. and still the same. I am not getting this channels and finally today,
I have called customercare and one fellow he was saying there was no complain that i made till now. What a foolish fellow? I have complained almost 5 times and he is saying that i never complained and in system its not showing???
Now i have requested to cancel my connection and i need to get the amount i have paid and i need a compensation for what Airtel company had made me foolish, gave me stress and destroyed my peace when i had chatted with Customercare. The last fellow agreed as to give the compensation and i have recorded in my phone and the company have the proof. So now requesting to end this with the above thing or else, you will force me to register an FIR and to go to consumer court for my rights????

Looking forward for a peaceful end.

AIRTEL DIGITAL TV — BAD SERVICES TO ITS CUSTOMER BY AIRTEL DIGITAL TV

A FAMILY SUFFERING FROM BAD SERVICE OF AIRTEL DIGITAL TV SINCE LAST SIX MONTHS!

Sir,
I am feeling very bad to inform you that how a reputed company like Airtel is not so serious about its consumer and made me troubled in that extent in last six month that I have decided to use anything but Air tel digital TV.
TV is for entertainment in our family. But let me tell you it has become nightmare for us! I took a connection of Air tel digital TV ID [protected]. It has got warranty for one year. Exactly one year everything was alright. Just in the month of 13 month trouble was started. We did complain and it was intimated that as 12 months completed, now nothing can be done. Engineer will come and change the set top box (STB). We have to give Rs 100 for his visit and Approx 400 for STB change. No body came or contacted for few days. On repeated complain some body contacted on phone and said to bring STB. I did so and deposited the STB in the Dibrugarh office. He said that it will come from Guwahati so come after few days. After few inquiries I was said to deposit Rs 400 and I will be given a new STB with three more months warranty. But practically I was given a STB of some one else's used and office staff said this is the only process. Now two and half month every thing was OK. After that it was started malfunctioning. It will take long 1 to 2 hrs to initiate the TV program every time I open the TV switch. When this problem persisted for few days I was discussed and complained to customer care about the problem on 21 Oct 11. Complaint No 12877242 dated 21 Oct 2011. The customer care said as three months not yet completed and you are complaining so you will get the warranty. You need not to pay any extra charge for it. Engineer will come within 24 Hrs and will solve the problem. After that I have to give him a happy code which I got during the complaint. But nobody visited to me. And I got a massage that your problem has been resolved if not SMS. I replied and was practically charged Rs 5 but nothing was done. I again complained to customer care that without solving my complaint how resolve message was came and again given complaint. But result was same. Without solving my problem SMS came that problem has been resolved if not SMS. How they again sent the message that complain has been resolved once happy code which I supposed to give to visiting engineer after solving the problem is with me. That's where I felt cheated and consumer's right was hurt. All the SMS I have kept save in my mobile. Since then I have complained several times stating my problem but still unresolved. My other complaint numbers which I can recollect now is 14035229 & 16372081. In between I visited in their Dibrugarh office, but they said that as three months is over so I have to pay again Rs 350. I said I am complaining since warranty was not expired. They said we can’t do anything now. My family kept on suffering with the problem keeping switch on TV, hours before telecast will start. Thinking that my complaints will work someday and STB will be replaced I became habituated to live with the problem. Though some times in anger and frustration I will stop recharging, then company will definitely en-quire about not recharging. I will explain them why I stop watching or recharging sometimes stating my problem. But no solution came so far. Once after a gap of approximately 10 days I did recharge on 3 Apr 12. But I did not see any image also till the time I am writing complain on 5 Apr 12. I again complained (Complaint No. 17552212 dated 04 Apr 2012). They already charged reactivate charge + that day's normal viewing charge. Again next day I en-quired but same false promise of engineer visit and no one practically visited and that days charge was also deducted without viewing.
Now I am really fade up of its service.
First of all I want to know that in spite of complaint within the warranty (Complaint No. 12877242 dated 21 Oct 2011) why my STB was not changed? Why company was sleeping for so long? What are the compensation of my family’s loss of ‘peace of mind’ for not able to watch their favorite tv program and keep on sitting anxious in front of TV. How without happy code message was sent to me that your problem has been resolved? Once my complaint was registered (Complaint No. 17552212 dated 04 Apr 2012) and I was not able to view at all why balance of my dish tv kept on deducting?

Its been really frustrating with Airtel they way customer service guys are behaving. Its been more than 15 days i have logged complaint for cancellation. Some one from airtel promised that they will get my connection transferred and still its not done. I dont know whether i have been charged for the service which i am not using. I have sent atleast 5-6 emails but no response from them. Acc#[protected]... Really unhappy with Airtel
