[Resolved]  Airtel Postpaid — Fraud Committed

I wish to register this as a high level complaint and require your immediate and kind attention.

I am an Airtel(prepaid) user from last 4years with the number [protected]. I had no concerns what so ever while it was a prepaid number. Recently I've converted the same number to postpaid and a storm of problem arrived.

Airtel executive came to my office on 23/06 without any notification and called me up for the relevant details when I was on Leave. I still managed to reach office and provided him with all the relevant details on a day when I was on leave.
Following day, my Airtel number was disconnection quoting "negative verification". I called up customer care department and was advised that there status states "verification not done because details not shown". I called up the Airtel executive on his mobile number who verified my details and he stated that the verification has already been completed however, we are unable to update the status because of server delay. I called Airtel again and was advised for the verification again. The executive on 121 arranged for another verification on the following day at my billing address but no one arrived. I had to call again for the third consecutive for the verification as had received another message of "negative verification". This time it was agreed that the executive will come to my place and I will show him my office ID proof. Following day engineer came to my office address, I repeat my office address and called up. He stated that he cannot come to billing address and the details had to be shown on the office address. I told him that I am on leave and cannot show him any details. He stated that he can meet any one of my friend who will just sign the document and verification will be completed. As advised by him I arranged for one of my friend to meet and sign the document. I had my line disconnected due to no fault of my own and had to call at least 15times and staying in queue for no reason. Meanwhile, I had my Outgoing Calls Barred for at least 20 hours when I prefer to make most of my calls from my mobile (as has no other number) which I was unable to. Next day of verification I called up Airtel Customer Care to check the verification status and I was advised that I had another number [protected] on my name which I used almost 18 months back and the outstanding for that number is Rs 5300/-(approx). I know nothing about the number and had no other number apart from the number I am currently using and also not sure how this enormous outstanding amount reflecting on my name.

I joined HCL on Sep'06 I have given all my details to an Airtel Executive outside my office for a postpaid number with Advance Rental of Rs 699/- for 1 year which I never got because I was told after a week of document submission by that executive that the promotional plan is not active anymore and was offered a different plan. I cancelled the deal as not happy with the different plan and asked for the copies of the document I provided. Executive told me that the documents were torn away and hence cannot be mis-used.

Please note that I had no other number apart from the number I am using from last 4years. I never received any bill for that above number and nor received any verification call and not even signed any document. I asked Airtel to provide me the details viz document signed by me before activation of the above mentioned number, recording of the conversation during verification before activation of the above mentioned number and most important the recording of outgoing calls to prove that I used the number.

I had not received any proper response from Airtel.
