[Resolved]  American Express - Platinum Card — Amex cheating old customers

Address:Karnataka

I have had an American Express platiunim card for the last 3 years with an annual charge of Rs. 10,000. There were a number of benefits that the card offfered and that was the reason why i agreed to pay an annual fee. One of the benefits was Gold Tier membership to the King Club for Kingfisher airlines.

At the time of joining i got a document confirming that the King Club membership will be valid till I am a valid Platinum card holder.

In Jan '11 when my King Club membership came up for renewal i got downgraded to Silver (The Silver status was due to my travel anyways). When i checked with Amex they said the policy has changed. There was no information to the existing customers about this change and also no change in the charges as one of the top benefits on the card was withdrawan.

it is not that amex has severed relationships with KF as there are other higher end cards that still offer this benefit.

Amex is just chaeating customers by throwing in these benefits at the time of joining and then withdrawing these benefits, keeping the charges same and then adding these benefits to costlier cards.

Something needs to be done about this blatant cheating of customers.
