Hello team,

I am not sure about how far is the previous complaint dealt with regard to this company though the bank name, person name and account no was provided by the previous person who was affected.

I understand that it might be fraud detail with regard to the account, i just thought of helping the citizens of our country from becoming a victim of these malpractices as there are lot of people who get cheated against these activities, some people would go for this as they might think they are going to get some lump some amount in future which they can't even think of earning.

I guess the net banking and ATM access for the account no can be blocked before they encash it, i understand it's not possible in the previous case.

In the mean time am not sure whether the australian and nigerian govt has taken any actions against them or not.

Well right now am in their loop and they have asked me to pay the same 620$ for further proceeding's.

I have requested for their account details, so just thought of keeping you posted on the same, if you can trace these people then please do get them punished.

Thanks
A.Krishnasarma

I searched the web regarding this kind of lottery in australia, and i found this complaints.
i really dont know if this is for real or a fraud, but if it is really real, then why do they have to ask for payment if this Barrister as he was called is affiliated with the bank. They should be the one to pay him...I think this should be investigated further by the authorities...
For the authorities investigating on this case, please e-mail me for any development of this...
Thanks...

Hello Folks,
Here is another about to be victimized person who is writing this comment.Luckily, i thought of validating the company details from where i received this hoax e-mail and landed here into the complaints section. Having read the above posts, I can say that even i received the same series of e-mails asking me deposit $505 at the end which of-course prompted me to investigate the matter before i send that huge amount to anyone.
The baffling thing is that the phone numbers mentioned in the above letters are being answered by their officials( as per the calls i have made).
Looking at the number o[censored]nsolved complaints, I would like to make one point here. Let us all stand together and bring it to the notice of a concerned authority that can possible do something about it and do justice to the ones cheated by this gimmick. I feel that just filling this complaints forum will not do much as most of these are going unanswered and these people will continue sending such carefully designed e-mails and robbing people of their money. the Let us bring it to the notice of a news channel at least, or some authority that can help our brothers get the justice asked for or to prevent any further damage. I am sure we will be able to track this down .

Thanks

australian lottery — About the trueness of Australian Lottery

dear sir, i am Prakash Ram Beri from Nainital. yesterday i got the mail from the sweepstake lottery corporation(Australian Lottery) that i've won 350000 us$ Is this a fake? I want your help.
I am sorry to hear that, but sounds like you were a victim of a lottery scam. Never ever pay any money to people making these sorts of claims. I assume you received an email telling you that you had won the lottery...real lotteries do not advise by email, and think, did you actually buy a ticket or some way enter this lottery. I am really sorry you lost your money, and I hope these people are caught and pay for what they have done.
Lottery Scam Email:
AUSTRALIA LOTTERY INC.
"Barry T. Standford", "Barrister Duke Nelson"

Have you received an email from "Barry T. Standford" at "AUSTRALIA LOTTERY INC." telling you that "your email address won in the second category" or something similar, and to contact "Barrister Duke Nelson" to collect your winnings? It is a scam. No legitimate, legal lottery notifies winners via email (see footnote) The scammers may change the names and details, but it is still a scam!

Below is another example of a fake lottery; this email claims to be from the "AUSTRALIA LOTTERY INC.". Also see this page for the reply from the scammers, "MR.RICHARD OKORO"

Although the most important clue is that no legitimate lottery will ever email a winner, there are many other signs that this is a fraud. We have highlighted some of these in the email below, not the least of which are:

*

Email address ballot: There is no such thing as a "computer ballot system" or "computer email draw". No one, not even Microsoft has a database of email addresses of the type or magnitude they suggest.
*

Terrible spelling, punctuation, syntax and grammar - Scammers apparently don't know how to use spell checkers. We assume they dropped out of school before that class. They use almost excessive and random CapItaLiZAtion. They often can't even spell "February" or know that "22th" ought to be "22nd". These scammers usually write at the 3rd grade level. Being non-native English speakers, they also often get first names and surnames (last names reversed), so you will frequently see names like "Mr. SMITH JAMES.", instead of "Mr. James Smith", along with the peculiar usage of periods (full stops) and spaces or the lack thereof. Real lotteries also proofread their emails and look and read more professional.
*

Using free email account: The scammer is writing to you from a FREE email account (Yahoo, Hotmail, Excite, AIM, Gmail, etc.). Don't you think a real organization would use its own email, its own domain and website?
*

Keep Confidential - Real lotteries THRIVE on publicity - they don't want you to keep anything secret - the publicity causes people to buy more tickets. there is NO risk of "double claiming" because they can validate where the ticket numbers were sold. The scammer want you to keep quiet because they don't want the police or ConsumerFraudreporting to hear about them! It should read: "For our own security, you are advised to keep your winning information confidential until we have finished scamming you!"
*

Email notification: NO REAL LOTTERY SENDS AN EMAIL TO NOTIFY WINNERS. Period. Full-stop. End of story. There mere fact ALONE that you received an email saying you won a lottery is proof that it is a scam.

Here is a typical scam lottery winning notification.
