Auto Drivers — Auto Drivers demanding excess charges

Hi,
This is regarding the autodrivers in Basvanagar, Bangalore. There are very few bus service to Basva Nagar and people who comes from the City will have to get down at HAL Convention center bus stop and catch an autorickshaw. The auto drivers are not ready to go by meter charge. The official minimum charge is 14Rs, but the autodrivers are not ready to take passengers less than 20 Rs, which is the unofficial minimum charge at Basva Nagar. Since the place is isolated from the main road, we dont have anyother choice. The Auto drivers doesnt were the uniform, there is no Drivers ID plate displayed and condition of the vehicle is also pathetic. If we want to extent the travel to Vignan nagar, which is 300 meters away from Basva nagar, they charge 10 Rs extra.

I request the Autorities to look into this issue

Auto Drivers — misbehaving and charging more

This auto driver(auto no.: KA 04 A 5021) had not displayed his licence. And when I asked for it, he was scolding with bad words and asking if I am an RTO.
I had payed how much ever his fault meter showed. And I told him that it was showing the high. He was not agreeing for that and scolding at me by showing his hand and finger.
Finally, when I said to go to the nearest police station, he ran from the place.

Very bad experience with the Auto drivers.
We need to have some website to log the complaints and which Police have to take.

Auto Drivers — Refusal to take the passenger

This is with reference to the auto drivers standing outside Khar W Station, last Saturday round 7.30 pm I was waiting for a auto to travel from Khar W Station to Santacruz East 5th Road, after waiting for 1 hour and asking over 75+ auots I was helpless, no one wanted to come to the destination. Finally I requested one auto driver to drop me by taking Rs-100, instead of the local fare Rs- 20 ( on the maximum side ) .

After 1-2 days, I saw a police man standing at the Khar Signal and requested him to see that the drivers are doing, but he kept on arguing that it is not his job and if I want to complaint I need to go to Vakola office for the same.

It is very disgusting that the drivers are doing what they like, its so irritating after work when you have to wait for hours for the auto.Hope right action is taken so that at khar station other passengers so not face the same issues.

Auto Drivers — Charging high fares and abusing

I am from Bangalore and I want to register complain against the autorickshaw drivers. The auto drivers in Bangalore charge vary high fares. If you do not have change of money they do not return the balance amout. A new system implemented on their own is to ask for Rs 20-Rs 10 higher then the actual amount. If by luck you happen to hire a pre-paid auto then they will leave you 1/2 km away from the destination.

If someone objects to this they are abused verbally and physically too. For people who have to travel frequently by this route it becomes unsafe. One such place is the pre-paid auto stand in Majestic where auto driver are behaving very rudely towards passengers.

I hope some early action will be taken in order to make India and particularly Bangalore a safe place.

Auto Drivers — High handed auto drivers

When is the Chennai Traffic police going to rein in the auto drivers?

First, it was only about them charging exhorbitant fares and not using the meter. Is there going to be any rule on them that they should flag the meter always?

Second, they have total disregard for traffic discipline. They have no consideration about any vehicle along side and would just cut in. And there are racing autos with colourful big lettered fancy names in their rear, who drive at unimaginable speeds with passengers within.

Third, they have taken to their liberty to decide on where to set up an 'auto stand'. Dont they need any permission from the civic authorities to do so? I tried to park on 12th Main Road Anna Nagar today and suddenly a group of auto drivers appeared and said that I should not park there since it was their stand. There was no sign or indication there to say it was so. As a lone person arguing with them, I had to ultimately remove my car from that spot. Where is the law, and protection for general public?

Would I get a reply to this complaint atleast about the action to be taken?

Auto Drivers — Charging excess

Hi,

The auto drivers at KR Puram (next to Hanging Bridge) charges excess even in the day time and the drivers leader make sure that any auto passes that route doesnot take the passengers. This is becoming really painful. Needs to be taken action and please let us know if there can be immediate complaint that can be taken against the drivers if they start charging higher than the meter cost.

Today i traveled by auto from my place to malleshwaram it usually takes 14 rupees just 1.4 km from my place but the auto drivers meter showed 20 rupees when i asked he said the meter is correct i have traveled from my place to malleshwaram more than a thousand times when i told him this he said the meter is showing and its correct and i told him i will give complaint he said go give and he is not at all bothers about anything the auto's No is KA05 D5658.

I hope some one takes care of this.

Auto Drivers — Auto Drivers Overcharging

Sir/Madam,

I stay at Jubilee Hills and take an auto from home to the IT Park in Madhapur. The distance between my house to the IT park is hardly 5.2kms and without exception, the auto drivers NEVER go by meter on these roads. Especially today, I took an auto (number: AP 9 TA 2207) and specifically told him IT park Madhapur to which he agreed to go for 60rs (which is 15rs more than how much it costs by meter). On the way, the man started bullying me saying I have to pay 80rs because its too far. I threated to take him to the police station to which he stopped the auto midway and made me get off.

This is not a one-day issue. I have faced issues with auto drivers overcharging for short distances. They ask anywhere between 60rs to 100rs for a 5kms distance which has moderate traffic. I hope the RTO takes the required action against these people.

Auto Drivers — They are forcing us to come in auto

Dear sir,
I am working in tvs motor company,and staying at attibele.from attibele tvs is 4km far.and we dont have company bus facilities due to some administrarive reasons,for tht we use to take some school busses daily and go.and we use to pay 5rs for one trip.

But now a days auto drivers are forcing us to come take auto and they will charge 60rs for tht 4km.
and they are not allowing to school busses to pick us.

and they are not ready to reduce thr auto charges also.

and they r not using meter for autos.

so pls take action about this.

I am adding one more thing in this complaint, police also support for auto drivers, we can't talk with them.

Auto Drivers — Unbelievable rates

I have had some really bad experiences with auto drivers with regards to the fare.
From Rammurthy nagar to Indiranagar 100ft road the meter charge is Rs 70 but the rate demanded is Rs150. And the auto drivers refuse to put the meter. They treat you like and have no manners which is very disturbing. I am opting for walking and taking volvo buses these days due to these incidents.

Is'nt there any place or contact where you can complain so that some action can be taken. I feel that some serious action should be taken against these auto drivers who demand unreasonable rates !

Auto Drivers — Auto drivers charging exorbitantly

The auto drivers located outside inorbit mall do not have any meters in theirrs auto's and would demand exorbitant rates for carrying passengers to a location. I tried taking an auto from Inorbit mall to Bengumpet. The distance is roughly 12 Km. They demanded as high as 180 INR while the cost that i would have to pay under normal circumstance is 90 INR.

They not only charge extra. Sometime their meters do not work properly. It takes me 120 rs to go from motinagar to tarnaka on a genuine auto meter, there are auto guys who have tampered with their auto meters and it shows around 150. How do we check if the meter is genuine and not tampered with? They also stand in gangs and demand high fares. Its becoming increasingly difficult to travel in this city, with no decent mode of public transport.

We the common people are being exploited by these Auto Rikshaw Drivers. I do not see a single auto in and around Madhapur who uses there Meter. My office distance from my place is 1.2 kilometers, as per the meter it should be 20 RS maximum, but still I am forced to pay 40-50 rs (100 percent more).
