[Resolved]  Axis Bank — Unnecessary Charges

Hello Sir/Ma'm,
I have salary account with Axis Bank which was open in Dec.2011,at the time of opening this account the person from the bank insisted me to open the Demat account also but i clearly told him that i am not interested at all but he insisted me a lot saying that please open the account as i to have to meet my targets also and you can close it later on and their will be No charges.i agreed to open the account on condition that their will be no charges and and i will not use the Demat services.

Few days later i also received a call from the bank regarding the demat account but i clearly told them to close the account as i was not interested in using the Demat services at that time they did not informed anything.

Now after almost 1 and half year later they have deducted Rs.561.80 from my account for Demat charges.

When i contacted them they are now saying that the account was free for the first year and these are the charges for the current year.

They are not ready to listen to me that their employee told me that the account is totally free and infact justifying their charges even after knowing the whole story.

i have asked them to cross-verify it from their employees who opened my account also the person who called me and didn't closed the account or didn't informed me how to close it.

This is really a cheating on their part as they didn't even informed me before deducting the charges.

You are requested to take some action and help me in getting my money back.

Please see the following mail, which I wrote to axis bank Anna Nagar branch head, after this mail we had discussion also & i have been told that some of the charges they will refund but till today there is no reply of my any mails & no refund.

Dear Sir / Madam,

My name is Santosh Chavan I am having a savings a/c in your branch & my a/c no is [protected]. My problem is on 30/10/2008 I have checked my account balance which was Rs. 234/- so I have issued 1 cheque of Rs. 177/- towards HSBC bank. Then on a same day you have charged me 120 Rs. Which your customer care people telling me for Mobile banking. But on 30-09-08 you people have charged me some 100 Rs. Which I asked for what it is, then I got the answer from your customer care people that it is for Mobile banking (which I got to know before this new problem has occurred)

I didn't got any intimation from your side for your charge, your guy is telling me that we are giving intimation at the start only. Then what it the use of Mobile banking ??? I should know each & every transaction of my account. Due to your charges of Rs. 120 my cheque got bounced which I issued for my credit card payment. & for which you have charged me 400 Rs. approx. then can you just tell me what is my fault in this ???? Now you charged me 400 Rs, then that HSBC will also charge me some penalty then your 1 mistake cost me nearby[protected] Rs. Which I am not going to pay, & you have to give me clarification on this.
After discussing so many times with your people I got the information that the 100 Rs which you have charged me on 30-09-08 it is for intercity cash deposit. But sir As per my knowledge & as per your rules & regulations I can do 1 intercity deposit in a quarter so kindly check my statement whether I have made any cash deposit in my account before, & the whatever information I got from your side is absolutely wrong.

I want clarification on following issues.

1) Why you have charged me 100 rest. On 30-09-08 ??
2) Why your customer care guy has given me wrong info saying that it was for mobile banking ?? ( due to his wrong info I thought my mobile banking charges has been debited, so I am not responsible for the bounce of my cheque & for any charges from both the side.

The mistake has been done from your side, so please clarify it. & if the HSBC will charge me any penalty then that also you need to pay, I am not going to pay any penalties when there is not my fault.
