[Resolved]  Barclay Cards — Privacy rights

I'm Clifton Domingo working for Gemoney Designated as Senior executive. I have been a barclay card holder for the last 6 months. have used the card extensively and had full intention of making the payments. Had requested the customer service to change my billing address to my office as there would be no one to receive it from my residence. but still the same was not done and I did not receive my statements for a couple of months. Finally I received a call from the collection department stating that I wud have to make an immediate payment on my card, had told him to first send me the statement and i would definitely make the Payment . but then there was no response.
After a few days I received a call from barclay cards. the caller said his name was Gagan Deep ( [protected] )and he is supposed to be a Senior Manager in barclay's. He was not at all willing to listen to my problem but just threaten to escalate the Issue to my Seniors, ( Mentioning Names of my seniors such as the CEO, AVP, and HR head) so I told him to go ahead and do so.
I have made a payment of 23, 000/- on my barclay card on the day or a day before we had this conversation.
but still the escalation had happened and after a few days I received a call from my Senior Manager stating that he had received a mail from barclay cards which was sent to the CEO, the VP, AVP HR head.
well I called up Gagan Deep to tell him that since the payment was already made to please send a mail to the same people stating that barclay card had received the payment. But he just refused to do so.
Well I have been in collections myself for 5 years and am aware of RBI guidelines that you are not supposed to disclose customers Account information to any third party.
It is embarrasing and sad to know that a bank of such statue could behave in this manner and hire such employees for such high rank.

Barclay Cards — False Practises to Collect Past Due Account in Dispute

Hi All,
I would like to inform you all, how this company is using false, threatening and illeagal practices to collect pass due account which is in dispute. Firstly let me explain about the dispute which i had regarding my account. I am a honest person and that is why was a regular payor on my account. My credit limit was only 17000.00 I.N.R and i had used 15000.00 I.N.R. on which I had paid the account down to 11500.00 I.N.R. My account would never had been passdue, but it all happened, when i called the customer service(C/S) for Barclay, I had a huge financial problem and I had setup a payment arrangement (E.M.I.) without giving any post dated checks (P.D.C) , so on my promise payment date I had called the customer service and informed them that i would not be able to make the payment on the promise payment date but I would be making that payment after one week and i was ready to provide post dated check for the same. The C/S rep. told me that there is no need of making any P.D.C. and she will be holding on to my account till next week, so that I would not be charged any Late Fees and interest. But Alas the opposite happened i was charged with Late Fees and interest charges which i denied to pay, then when I recieved a call from the collection department about the payment,I refused to pay the Late Fees and interest charges, Instead of resolving the problem, he started shouting at me and calling me names, he stated that " If I cannot pay, I shouldnt have used" and "You agreed to the terms and conditions before using the card". So I duly informed him about the conversation with the previous rep., he said if you would have made the P.D.C. arrangement then there wouldnt have been Late Fees and interest Charges. I kept on informing him about my attempt about making the arrangement which the C/S rep. denied on, whcih was not my fault. But he said that he cannot wave the charges off.So I stopped making the payments completely. I was recieving calls from them which I always answered and informed them that I would be more than happy to pay them, but they have to wave of the Late Fees and interest charges frist which they denied. Ultimately the account landed into collections. I started recieving harassing calls from collectors who were in-professional, who would again keep on calling me names and threatening me. But my answer was the same. This went on for few months and just couple of months before I had recieved a call from a Collection Agency and i explained the collector my dispute and gave me an option to settle the account, and regarding that I spoke with a person who name I do not remember, who claimed to be the Leagal Advisor for the Barclay. He gave me and option to settle my Debt for 12000.00 I.N.R., but i denied as i told him that I had paid my account upto 11500.00 I.N.R.so I requested a reasonable offer considering the fact about my dispute deniel, my mental harassment etc. Understanding my collections knowledge the person claiming the Leagal Advisor told me that he will speak with manager and get back to me in 2 to 3 business days. But as I had analysed I did not hear from him again. Then after I did not recieve any calls for a month. But after that I started recieving calls from another collection agency known as Classic Agency. The door to door collector Sachin came to my house and demanded to pay him again I explained him about the previous history. So escalated this matter to his superior who again claimed to be the Leagal Advisor for Barclays. The person came to my house and we discussed the matter and he sd he will settle the matter for 10000.00 I.N.R. in 2 payments and with that he also commited me a (No Objection Certificate) N.O.C. Letter from Barclays. I requested him for a written letter stating the settlement and the recieval of N.O.C letter on the Barclay's Company letter head, which the person first gave me a commitment on, but after sd I would recieve that info after my First installement of the settlement offer. But I clearly told him that I would make those payments after recieving the letter in my hand. So he sent me a Sample letter which did not mention my name and also did not mention anything about the N.O.C. So I did not make that payment. By that time the account was already negetively reported on my credit history (C.I.B.I.L.) So I decided to just pay the principle amount on my credit history which was 15060.00 I.N.R. and i was arrnging for funds.
Recently last week I was sleeping in the morning I recieved a call from a Delhi Airtel Mobile number, a male started asking me question about my whereabouts and started confirming my name and my father's name and my address. On deniel started abusing stating that he is from the Delhi police and he is coming to pune to arrest me. So asked him what was the claim which I am being held Liable for. And he said that I was being accused of fraud activity and there is a non- bailable arrest warrant against my name and I am going to be thrown to Tihar Jail. I was confused and started wondering that I have never went to delhi and how come I commited a fraud staying at pune in Delhi? So he himself gave me a case # and gave a cell phone # ([protected]) again belonging to delhi and asked to speak with Mr. O.P. Sharma and also asked to call back in 10 min to see what could be done on this? . but he never told me what was the fraud claim for against my name. So I panicked and started wondering what might have went wrong. So I hesitently and hurriedly called on ([protected]), and a male answered I gave him the case #, and he sd that he is a Leagal advisor for Barclays and my account is into Leagal status and if I do not want to be thrown behind Bars. So I explained him the case, but he said nothing is in his hands and I have no choice but to pay this. He said atmost I can have the late fees waved off and all i am liable to pay the principle amount of 15060.00 I.N.R, but I explained him that I had made payments on my principle amount and brought the balance down to 11500.00 I.N.R, so why should I be entitled to pay the extra amount of 3560.00 I.N.R. He said if that is the case I will give any settlement and I have to pay the total outstanding of 23075.00 I.N.R with Late Fees and interest charges. So I had no choice, but to agreed to pay the offer to pay principle amount of 15060.00 I.N.R and that too by the end of this week. I requested him to permitt me some time and give me a managable amount as a installment on the settlement. But he firmly refused to do so and again threatened me to put me in jail. But atlast he just gave me 2 installments of 5000.00 I.N.R. by this friday and 10000.00 I.N.R. by December 15th 2009 and to support that I have to make two post dated checks for the same amount on the same day. So having no choice I had to make that arrangement and give them the post date checks.And he promised me an Settelement letterwith N.O.C. I did not refuse the payment as I had to pay the principle amount on my credit history (C.I.B.I.L.). And I have already made the first payment a day prior by Cash payment to another collection agency named Chase Internation INC. when the rep came to pickup the payment from my house. he showed me an settlement letter for Full & Final Settlement Letter, but the letter does not mention about notifying (C.I.B.I.L.) about the payments and also does not show that I would be recieving any N.O.C. Letter.. so I spoke to his manager and he informed me that I would not reciev that any N.O.C letter. But still I paid it.and I am going to pay the remaining installement for 10000.00 + 60.00 I.N.R as that is my principle balance.

My point over here is that they are fasifying thier identities as police officers and threating me to put behind bars. I have not launched any complaints till date but I am in a process of filing harssment charges against them.

My dear friends if you recieve any threating calls like this I would advise you to report to the nearest police station as it is illeagal to do so.

Barclay Cards — I already credit card payment paid to compay but sed to my address mail again and again

I have issued credit card of Barclay credit card I was allready paid to i issued amount of credit card but again and again send to mail my adress and call his side rubbish talking. i request you my name of complaint to CIBIL send to my email.
I was shocked to see the harasment u faced with Barclay's card...
I really dont understand the logic of How CIBIL is acceptng the complaint's from one party(barclay bank) and keeping customers credit history negtively
