[Resolved]  CIBIL — Negative Rating

While CIBIL is good to protect the interest of lending institutions, it leaves a catastrophic effect of non assuming and gullible customers who have no malafide intentions. How can CIBIL justify its stand by seeking one way information from the lending institutions and not from the Customers. Does CIBIL question the information being received?

I have No Dues/Full and Final clearance letters from ICICI,HDFC,SBI,CITIBANK,SCB and HSBC and still find my name in the defaulters list of CIBIL. As a result, I am not able to enjoy Home Loans from IDBI or ICICI.

Who can help me?

Hi...My name is John and I have an ICICI salary linked account.
I took more than 4 loans in the last 5 years and cleared all them without any default/cheque bounce. I never have any complaint with my financiers; be it ICICI or HDFC or Canara.

A couple of days ago when I applied for a two wheeler loan, to my utter surprise, I came to know through HDFC Bank Credit Manager, Hyderabad Mr. Sudarshan (Ph.# [protected]) that my name is reflecting in the defaulters list of CIBIL for evading a credit card bill to an extent of INR 75, 000/-.

THE FACT IS THAT TO THE BEST OF MY KNOWLEDGE I NEITHER EVER HAD A CREDIT CARD NOR DID I GOT A CREDIT CARD BILL OR ANY KIND OF COMMUNICATION OF ANY KIND.

I really wonder how can a person/institution name someone a defaulter (thus making someone ineligible for any kind of loan for his/her life time) without even knowing the facts.

I shall be really grateful if my banker (ICICI) or an individual or institution can help me understand how CIBIL rates some one's credibility and in my case, to get out of CIBIL's defaulters' list.
