[Resolved] Citibank Credit Card — excess charge of interest. | |
Whether any bank in the world charges interest of Rs563/-(+service tax of Rs81/-) on last bill balance payable of Rs 140/-. It happend with Citibank only. Last bill balance was Rs 21140/-, due on 18.4.2008. I paid Rs 21, 000/- on 15.4.2008 on 15.4.2008 i.e. well before the due date. Surprisingly in the next month bill due on 18.5.2008, I have been charged interest of Rs 563/- (+ service tax Rs 81/-) for balance due of last month's balance of Rs 140/-. I registered my complaint Ref No [protected] on 11.5.2008 with Ms Jaswinder. But her boss Ms Deepika could not talk to me (busy...) even I holded more than 30 mts in my landline telephone. Customer arrogant representative do not have convincing reply, but arrogantly replied that I have to pay what the demand letter is mentioned. She has threatened that if not paid, interest will be charged again on the paid amount, which is happening only in India by Citibank. What is the remedy and how to get away from the arrogant citibankers and their arrogant customer (care) representatives ????? Was this information helpful? | |

am requesting to you mail or send my credit card statment.Since last three -four months i have not received statment as well as i have not made full payment.now i would like to pay all your dues so please arrange to waive my late payment charges & intrest.At last i have made payment of 2980/- on 15 th Ocober.

Citibank Credit-Card charged very heavy Un-reasonable Excessive "InterestCharge":
Citibank (Credit-Card) has charged me Rs.840 for a short-payment of Rs.163 only.
I paid Rs.26324 within the due date keeping only Rs.163 unpaid. They have sent me this payment statement after next 10 days.
1) Called on Wednesday, 22.OCT.2008 at 7:15pm on their Mumbai Call-Center Number # 020.2834.7733(PREF).
2)Spoke to Call Centre Executive - ManmeetSingh.
3) who informed me that the "InterestCharge" Rs.839.38 (Rs.747.22 +ServiceTax Rs.92.36) have been charged, because of only Rs.163 Short in Payment(Rs.26324.56) made on 09.OCT.2008. This interest is charged on the whole amount of Rs.26500/- for whole One Month.
Interest Charge: Rs.747.22 + Service Tax Rs.92.36 = Rs.839.58
I am willing to book a complaint against them. Please come and support me.

dear I am strongly agree with you. they are cheating the peoples thro poor customer care executive. they are NOT responsible for any charges apprearing in our statements because of their fault.

I am paying regular on this but last month somehow skipped the payment and been charged LPC and other charges.
I have lost my job due to recession and even facing major problem with running my liveleihood but I still want to pay.
Request you kindly waive off LPC and other charges for last few months and oblige. Rate of interest charged is also very high.

SIR,CITI BANK HAS SEND ME AN CREDIT CARD NO.[protected] WITHOUT ANY REQUIREMENT OR APPLICATION WHICH I NEVER USED SO FAR, IN WHICH THEY MAKE AN INSURANCE WITHOUT MY CONCERN, WHEN I REQUESTED THEM TO CANCEL IT THEY ARE DEMANDING AN AMOUNT OF RS.1400. FROM ME AS AN CANCELLATION CHARGE. AS I NEVER APPLIED FOR THAT CARD. KINDLY TOOK NECESSARY STEP TO RESOLVE MY PROBLEM. WHEN I TALK THE LOCAL ADMINISTRATIVE HERE THE BEHAVE VERY PROUDLY AND DARE US TO DEPOSIT THE AMOUNT OTHER WISE I BECAME AN CIBIL DEFOLTER ACCORDING TO THEM.
