[Resolved]  Citibank Credit Card — Unnecessary Harassment

Address:Gautam Buddha Nagar, Uttar Pradesh

Hi,

I have taken a Vodafone connection # [protected] on 19th Aug 2010 and got that activated on 21st Aug 2010 and I have all proof for the new connection.

Since the account activation I am getting constant call from Citibank for a person called Arun Pathak regarding asking me to make a payment for credit card.
I received an SMS for some card# ending with 4002 of a payment amount due of Rs. 51770.97 on my new connection.

I have informed them constantly and even called up their customer support team that they should update their bank records that the number doesn't belong to the above mentioned persons and every time they are calling they report that they have updated the records but still I am getting constant call harassing me and threatening me to make the payment.

Please advice how should I take a legal action against this.

Thanks
Debika Chakraborty.

Citibank- Credit Card — Constant Harassment

I would like to lodge a serious complaint regarding the constant harassment being caused by citibank credit card collection centre agents. They Dont only call me but they are continuosly calling my friends, friends parents and other colleagues as well. Due to certain health complications and due to completely being jobles for over a 8 months or so, I had defaulted on credit card payment, later on the payment was made and Inspite of telling them that the amount due has been deposited and the name of the bank whose check has been put in along with the amount, along with a clear order to cancel my card I’m being called again and again on my mobile asking me to inform them which area the check has been deposited.
This is rather strange as I fail to understand why should vbe my friends and their family are being approached and being discussed about my Financial standings. the senseless staff at the collection centre is unable to comprehend the situation.

As I have already paid interest and that to 3.5% which is bloody lot why am I being chased like this, if this is not stopped immediately I will put a legal notice for harassment.

I would urge a responsible person at the bank who might be having some sense of individual personality please go through the recorded conversations of my logged calls. I fail to understand why citibank does not pursue any other mode to follow up on late payments, like e-mail, postal reminder etc… or a combination of all, so that this level of irritation can be avoided. I can guarantee you this was the second time I’m throwing your Citibank card, had done so earlier several years back due to similar problem, but I guess I had forgotten with time but now I can promise I will never ever opt for it again.
Thank you very much for all the anger you have unnecessary caused me and thank you for making me cancle the credit card….. you have done great service to your bank and banking ethics…… which are fast becoming history, no wonder all banks like yourself are begging and surviving on public funding.
