[Resolved]  Citibank Credit Cards — Mental Harassment and bad experience for using Citibank credit cards

Around four years back, I was holding a Citibank international silver credit card (Master Card). When the credit card was issued (03/03) the Citibank representative assured me that the card is absolutely free for lifetime and no annual fees will be charged for the same. For the first year I was using the credit card without any issues. Suddenly after one year I was charged a renewal fees of Rs 750/- for the primary card (which was on my name) and Rs 350/- on an add-on card (which was on my wife's name) plus service tax in the monthly statement.

After frequent follow ups on phone with Citibank representatives, requesting them to revert back the renewal fees, they told that the card was free only for first year and I have to pay renewal fees to continue using the card. I was not expecting this response from the bank which showed how unprofessional they are in their business.

Since, the bank was not ready to revert back the renewal fees and even I was unhappy with the banks unethical attitude, I decided to cancel both the cards and informed my decision to bank. Even after both the cards were cancelled, the bank continued issuing me monthly statements (carry forward of renewal fees + late changes each month after month)

I am unable to understand why I am still receiving those monthly statements and again started to follow-up with the Citibank representatives to know the reason. The representative told me that both the cards were cancelled as per bank's record and all the charges will be reverted back soon and will reflect in coming month's statement. So I was hoping to get everything settled by next month and haven't given any attention to this issue after that.

After two years, I received a call from Citibank informing me about making the payments for the outstanding amount immediately and also gave me an option to make settlement by paying some lumpsum amount. To make a settlement I was asked to visit one of their offices in Aundh, Pune. I was really surprised and unable to understand if nothing is due from my side why I should pay any amount to the bank. To know the total amount due on my account I called multiple times to Citibank but was told that the case is now transferred to recovery department and they don't have any information regarding the same. I tried calling the recovery department of Citibank, Pune and they told me to pay Rs 200/- first which will enable then to open my case and then investigate the issue further. This is absolutely frustrating and gave us lot of mental stress.

This I guess is a clear case of mental harassment.

I am very unhappy with the service provided by the bank and also the false commitments made initially for attracting customers. I and many of my friends have already blacklisted Citibank after this event.

Wanted to know can I legally go in court against CitiBank and fight for my rights ?

Citi Bank Card — Harrashment

Dear SIr,

citbank woman special card (free of cost) no charges applicable they are issuing me for last 02 years as soon as i received that card i cancelled that card in customer care and i received call from chennai head office same i cancelled this card to them also but for 06 months i received call from citibank distributers they are saying ki you have to 8000 some time they are saying who have to pay 800 like this i am just fed up with all this thing when i already cancelled this card then why should i pay anything

sir i am unable to bear any type of herrasment of collection agency of lucknow by mr. shukla

please do something i am going consumer court to save my life

Citibank credit cards — Fraud & Worthless Service

I hold a CITIBANK Credit Card and of late for the past several months I have observed that the Statements are rarely received and if received are always after the due date. After that comes the pestering. This I feel is a fraud being carried out in conjunction with the courier service. They possibly are in league and share the Late Payment Charges.
Would the Powers that Be in CITIBank look into it.

City Bank Credit Card — Payment related harassment


I had a City Bank Credit card about 8 years ago, I did not even use the card and the company never sent me the statements or followed up for payments then, I dont have the card do not even know the card numbers and now after eight years my family is reciveing threatening calls and is being harassed for payments, do the banks wait for interrest amount to be really high and then ask for payments and harass people for payments for their own benefits?

What action can I take against it, please suggest.

Citibank Credit Card — Mental Harrasment

would like to make a formal complaint against Citi Bank Credit Card Billing Department as they call me with reminders at all un earthly hours, even after the due date being some days away. I have requested them that the amounts will be paid but still get calls from them every day.
This has caused a morbid fear and I tend to spoil my complete day due to this. This happens every day.
Citibank is troubling me by sending me SMS and statement for amount as overdue, when i have already cancelled the card. I have not made any purchases on the card, but it seems the bank is debiting insurance and late payemnt fees on top of that. This is pure harrassment and wish the Banking Ombudsmen takes note of this. There are so many people like me who are harrased, but have very little time to take up the issue with the authorities. Further the bank in its website does not support cutomer compliant on cards.

Citibank Credit Card — No Knowledge about Product

i have a received a credit card from citi bank, but company have no office in lucknow for giving the knowledge abount his credit card fees & charges.

This is to inoform you that My Name is Parshant Kothari - Age 48 yrs living with my wife & one baby who is 15 yrs old. Everyday your recovery agents are coming & asking for Narender Singh Pundir at my home address : C-444 Brij Vihar, Ghaziabad.

I have told so many times & request to all of your agents that at my home no one is Narender then again & again why u are sending your agents. By this we are so upset & facing the unnecessary problems. I made a complaint agnst your activity in local police station but if you will not stop this I will go High Court for mental harrasment against your bank. This is the last warning to you.

This is formally inform you and requested you that I m Abini Lad. My sister might (aditi lad) have a citi bank credit card no. ([protected]) we don’t have any idea about that credit card but now she is expired on 27 feb-2009 my self provide her death certificate around 20-22time citi bank branch fort & lower pare as well as bank employee also meet at parel station & take form me (abini lad) that death certificate Xerox copy after that he promises me will never ever call u family & u about your sister(aditi lad) payment.
I am abini still studying in F.Y.S.C in SNDT College in churchget & staying also in college hostel m working part time job in one of Privet Company as a data entry job there I get only 2400/- in month so I can’t pay that amount at all my daddy also retired parson when aditi expired after that my mom dad both shifted in my native place because we three people depend on my sister only! & second thing wherever we was staying first in Kohinoor com. In Dadar there now staying Mr.bhoja he complaint agents your bank recovery boy because they told that recovery guy here not staying lad family after that also they visiting again & again that’s way he complain in bhoiwada police station that guy name I think subhash & his no.[protected]. your citi bank fort branch manager only told me once customer expired bank don’t have any authority to ask for payment & visit customer place but now she is no more we trying to forget her but your bank people not understanding are problem. My dad is hart patient.
So last my humble request is that please don’t visit again & again that dadar add because that Bhoja family very upset on my family whatever problem have to discus u can call on [protected] on Sunday 9.00am to 3.00pm because I m studding & in my classes cell not allow i[censored] want to contact me send me mail also on this same id.

Citibank Credit Card — CreditCard Harrasement

Four Years back I took Credit card and I never made any transaction on that card. Now they started sending quarterly statements asking me to pay 35000 / - . They are not providing any details on that.
I am one of the customer, who cheated by HSBC bank. I am holding HSBC credit card since 2007 and paying their all outstaning as per billing. I have taken a BT facility from HSCB in the month of April 2009 and it was decided that I will have to pay a minimum due amount of 5% and 1.5% Monthly rate of interst on outstanding. In the month of October 2009 I had purchase garments from this card of Rs. 9000 and I made payment of Rs. 9000 next to the day. After that I called to customer care executive and She/He told me that first we will adjust your Rs. 9000 in minimum amount and intest of BT and rest of the amount will be adjusted in your purchases. I made again a Rs. 2500 payment after that conversation so that I will be charged a lesser rate of interest. I never got their hardcopy statement. After 3 month I got to know that they have adjusted Rs. 9000 and Rs. 2500 in BT amount and my purchased amount is still pending in which they have started charging me 3.5% rate of interest. I have complaint so many time in customer care of HSBC but they are not responding accordingly and they keep calling me and they are harassing me for making their payment and I want to settle my account or want reassessed statement since Nov 2009 @ 1.5% rate of interest.
Please suggest what should I do for above metter?

I have made the full and final Settlement to CITI Bank Credit Card (proof attached Settlement Letter, bill copy)... but statement showing cash received payment pending overdue(statement Copy attached here)...

don't have to do much - just send a mail to banking obdmensment and rbi and and ofcourse to citi bank too - and don't worry they cannot do anything now just keep that settlement letter in a safe place ;)

Citibank — credit card is not issued and it is someone is using.

I had marked so many mails to citi bank but they are not going to take any action against there recovery agent,They are coming day on day at my relatives home & using abuse language all the times,Kindly help me out from this.
