while installing win xp its telling that hard drive is not detected...but no problems while installing vista..i hope that u solve this quick n send me
I am also facing similar problem with My V3155AU laptop- No display. I have been advised to change the Motherboard. the problem occurs after the expiry of 1 year warranty. Thumps down to Compaq. Is there any cheaper solution?

i have a compaq presario V3000 which was bought 18 months back in bangalore. from yesterday the screen brightness has reduced. the screen is looking dull. i gave it for repair and they checked with everything and told everything working alright. usually when you plug in the laptop for charging the screen will look brighter. this is not happening with my laptop form yesterday. eventhough its charging properly

compaq presario v3000 — Service
I have Compaq Presario V3000 model. Currently I am in Japan (Tokyo). I would like to have information about any service station in Japan? i purchased Compaq Presario V3000 at last 11 month back initially it's working very well but now days i having problem from display whenever if touch the display it's automatically get white i can't see any thing but program is running
i have compaq presario v3149AU and it has he same problem.laptop does not works for more than 4 months.within the warranty period it has been repaired thrice, parts got replaced but still it does not work.
Every time the problem is same LED's are glowing but there is nothing on the screen, they wither replace the motherboard or the screen but problem persists.

It appears this V3000 series is faulty and HP is making the consumers to suffer for the mistake at their end.
I think we all should file a case against HP in consumer court for the replacement of the laptops of this faulty series, otherwise they will be selling this kind of junk in India and consumers will be suffering for manufacturer's mistakes.

The worst of worst product is v3155au ... Exactly after an year my screen blurs and no display. What rubbish is this product just made for an year and then go dead. I want to slap that guy who made should know the value of money we are putting (30K)..

i purchased compaq v3000 before previous 2 months,
i face one problem with internet dongle. first i purchase tata indicom iternet dongle but that isent search by laptop, then next i purchase reliance internet dongle the same problem comes for this dongle also.
and i dont know what to do so please reply me what action i take for remote internet connectivity.

I face the same problem. The laptop starts but does not display anything and this problem has started exactly after 1 year of the purchase - so no warranty, no responsibility by the company. The laptop model is Compaq Presario V3225AU.
In the beginning it was very slow, so I had to spend money to upgrade the RAM from 512 MB to 1 GB. Then the laptop started to heat up like an oven, there was no solution to this problem but to shut it down and let it cool. And now there are no problems as the laptop is DEAD.
There is no help from dealers as they are only involved in sales and not service. The service centre says the mother board needs to be replaced and will cost me Rs. 15, 000/- (minimum) and that there is no guarantee if the problem reoccurs.
After reading the comments from everyone it seems the strategy of Compaq-HP is to launch products at a lower rate to penetrate the market and then recover the amount through replacing of parts. The low cost of production is possible as all parts inside the laptop are sub standard, cheap and procured from China and due to its quality would not last more than a year.
Well, its the customer who suffers at the end of day as the companies safeguard themselves through warranty statements, clauses etc.

I have compaq presario v3000 having service pack v3155au suffering from no display after 9mnths of purchase.I was too busy to get the laptop repaired after 1yr the warranty lapsed. I got the motherboard repaired, spend 9thousand. within few days the problem reoccurs. I am fedup now compaq is selling substandard laptops in india. Now what should i do I do not want to spend another 9000 in replacing the motherboard this time. I think it was my fault shouldn't have purchase Compaq laptop. I will end up spending 18, 000. Who knows the problem may reoccur putting my hard earned money on fire.

here i am using presarioV3000 with vista home basic...am not comfortable with vista and ai have to change my OS to windows XP ..in vista nothing is supported i have tried many times to change OS but it is not supporting so please give a solution for this..am doing PG (M.CA) i have exams on next week ...so kindly send the solution as soon as possible
