[Resolved]  compaq presario v3000 — problem is not getting solved for no display.

I have compaq presario v3000 having service pack v3155au suffering from no display since last three months.
I have gone to ur service station five times but still my problem is not getting solved.Every time i go they will replace some part n tell now it is ok but within few days the problem reoccurs.i have got motherboard changed once in your hp service station n so many times got formated but now also i have got same problem again. This time also they are replacing the motherboard but how many times do i have to get it changed.
Now i am fad up of your laptop as i have to give my post graduation exams after three months n i m reading on net but due to the above problems i m not able to read because every tenth day problem comes back.
So this time i want clear result or else i dont want your product n plz if it is due to amd processor and its heat in the indian conditions then plz dont introduce such products in india.
I am waiting for a good reply from your side with clear conclusion as i have heard about your hp service...

I have been having the same display problem for the third time now, luckyly the last 2 times was during the warraty period and got it done for free but now its not the same. I personally and sick of HP laptops now and swear to keep a good distance away from the brand and its sick products.

I hope someone sues them for their lame stuffs...they need to learn a lesson..its cheating the consumers.

By reading all these issues, i think this a problem which HP has to really think of, thousands of people are suffering the same issue. and they are loosing immense money on maintaining a laptop. i had this issue while the laptop was under warranty, but now my warranty is over and i am getting this problem for the last three months, i overcome it as i do some work with removing the ram. the mother board is not detecting even if the ram is removed. after some time doing similar excersise the system comes back with display. after two three days maximum again similar issue happens. sometimes it get switched of while working too.

My brother with HP laptop, he is in newzealand he bought the one from there itself, but he bought sony viao ( only 1.2years of purchase), a laptop is zero valued. pitty on HP with products like this.

HP Please do something, after this in my life i wont suggest HP Laptop to anybody.

As the complaint posted by Dr. JAYANT TRIVEDI, even i to face the same problem for not having display in compaq presario v3000. they ask us to change the whole mother board.

Agree totally. I have a Presario V3000 which goes black screen then shuts down. Had it for just over a year. As it's my second computer I have hardly used it. Since just out of warranty (3 wks) they won't do anything even though it would have only had a total of 1 months use in a whole year. Phone help is overseas which is so poor. Technicians are only in certain places so can't get one of those in our area so would have to courier laptop etc. etc. Charges keep on going up and Hewlett Packard don't care.

Slack service. Dreadful Laptops.

All I can do is recomment everyone to stay away from Hewlett Packards.

compaq presario v3000 — Battery

When I buy a hp compaq presario laptop on July 2007. First time the battery backup is 2hours after 1year it will be 1hour then this time I get half hours... Actually much time the battery backup is get?
what is the normal life of a battery? what is the original cost of a new one? does voltage imbalance effects battery life??
Identical problem! HP service claims motherboard has gone bad and have given me a quote of Rs. 10, 500/-. Mine is a Compaq Presario V3149AU. I believe HP has known about the flawed motherboards all along and had even announced a conditional recall. My question is, if they that the problem is so big, they should have recalled all the machines. HP-Compaq has committed daylight robbery and my only suggestion to everyone is... move to Dell, Lenovo or Apple but DO NOT TOUCH HP WITH A BARGE POLE!!!

Would love to hear if anyone has any idea of a recourse against this completely unscrupulous company.
I have 2 set compaq V3000, buying 3 month apart. the fist set just 1 year and 1 month the mainboard display component problem out off warranty just 1 week laying for collecting dust, The 2nd set now got heat problem, the left top bottom site and the display screen intermittently distortion and it get hang for sometime, what a life span, wont last for at least 2 years.

HP Compaq Presario V3225AU Laptop — Defective Product Sold

I purchased a Compaq above model Laptop with Sr. No 2CE720306R from Online IT Shoppe India P Ltd, Cochin on 20 Jul 2007. Around 1st of week of May 2008, the laptop's display started to flicker for sometime and soon it would work normally. This continued intermittently for a week, and I brought it to your Authorised Service Center on 7th May 2008 and they took the machine on the call ticket no 1463. Next day they returned the machine saying they could not identify the problem since it was not happening while at the service centre. Since I badly wanted to the Laptop for urgent work, I took it back immediately and from the very next day the problem started repeating. So I brought it back to the Service Center and they gave me a fresh call ticket no: 1510. I mentioned to them that one of my friend Adv. Joy Thattil Ittoop who had also brought the same machine may be a couple of weeks before me had problems for his machine which looked similar.As it was found out that they had replaced the System board in his machine, they decided to do it in my machine too. Also the LCD screen had a patch and so they said they are replacing both the System Board and the LCD screen. As both this new machines had a major replacement of its entire parts within a year, we suspected that the machine has an inherent manufacturing defect and hence we both requested for a total replacement which was turned down saying, it wont have any further problems since the entire parts except for the shell and DVD writer were replaced. The machine after all these replacement was returned to me on 16.05.2008 and during this one week period I could not use the machine though I had spent around 35, 000 rupees to buy this new machine! Within a few days I noticed that the card reader was not working and the battery backup time had come down alot. I took it back to the service station but as they want me to hand it over to them for further check up and since I wanted it badly for my work, I decided not to give as it would further hamper my work.

During end october 2008, the problems again started showing up, that the display was flickering and going on and off though in the back ground I could make out the machine is working since it was not totally shutting down. Like in the earlier occassion the machine after limping for a week finally stopped working and I took it back to your service center on 1st November 2008. The machine was taken by them for rectification by the token number 100389. On 8th November the machine was returned to me on[protected] with a report that they have replaced the entire System board once again for the second time in a row. They also informed me that this particular series have a problem all over and the company has instructed that even after the warranty is over, they are advised to replace the system board free of cost. This again confirmed that the machine had an inherent manufacturing defect and is very common to this model. After every replacment of the System board the battery backup of the laptop was coming down and in this regard I had made a complaint online and one Mr. Rajesh from HP used to call me often from his cell no: [protected] to discuss about the problems of my laptop. He assured me that he will take up the matter to give me a satisfactory performance on the machine, but nothing really happened in this regard.

Within two weeks time, machine again started to show the signs by with the display flickering and going off and on[protected] I had to take it again to your service center as it stopped working totally. They took the machine with the call ticket no: 100554. As the machine was required urgently I have been following up and they informed me that the System board needs replacement again ie for the third time and they are handing over the machine to the new service center at Palarivattom and gave me a nerw call ticket no 5649. On[protected], I got the machine back with the system board replaced and the entire Operating System corrupted and the data totally lost. Till all these time, the data was never lost, but this time I got the system back with the OS corrupted and I had to reload the Windows Vista again myself. Though I have been given an original of Vista along with the machine, they did not even reload the OS.

A few days earlier the machine again started showing the signs of another imminent failure as the display started to go and on and off and immediately I wrote an email to you that there are signs that of the system board for the 4th time in a row, and today morning it has totally stopped working, though I can see the machine is booting up in the background.

Here I must also menton that my friend Adv. Joy who had also purchased the same machine had lot of problems with his machine and finally he decided to buy a a new laptop from a different manufacture. I found that from a website on the net that, there so so many people who purchased this machine are facing the same problem and have felt HP has cheated the customers by selling them a laptop with an inherent manufacturing defect.

I am been told by their service engineer Mr. Abby of their authorised service center in Cochin M/s Nortech that this machine has an inherent manufacturing defect. The same view was expressed by their dealer M/s Online IT Shoppe India Pvt Ltd, that they stopped selling any more compaq laptops.

So any one who plans to buy an HP product be aware of this and I do not recommend any of their products.

As directed by their Mr. Nathan, who looks after laptop concerns in Cochin Area, I took back the machine again to their service center and they give me a call ticket now: 9907 on 27.07.2009. On31st they send me mail informing that the LCD needs replacement and it would cost me Rs 18, 000.00. Since Laptops are available in the range of 20000 much reputed companies like DELL and Acer, I decided not to trust these people any more. More over I am not convinced about the quality of the product they are going to supply at that exorbitant cost. So I decided to take back the machine and gave it to a local laptop servicing company.

To my surprise the laptop was repaired in less than 2 hours and it cost me peanuts!! Now I am convinced that HP is company of Cheats who are not only selling products with manufacturing defects and also they are trying to fleece the clients by their servicing bills. Please all be aware of this.

After getting the quote from your Authorised Service center for the replacement of the LCD screen for over Rs 18, 000/- ( now one can buy a new Laptop that comes from a better company with better reputation by paying another 1000 rupees more to it), I took back delivery from them as I refused to spend any more money on this product. I lost faith in your company that I don't want to want another Rs 18, 000 down the drain, as I am was sure you still wont be able to rectify the same effectively as I have learned in the last 2 years. But you may be quite taken aback to know that in less than 4 hours of taking it back from your Service center, I am now sending this email to you from the very same Laptop, which was rectified by a very ordinary free lance service engineer!! Now this put another question mark on the quality of your technical support!! Isn't it shame on you and your company???????? I really pity you people!!! I am convinced beyond any doubt that you are cheats who were trying to fleece the poor ignorant customers. I am going to bring the whole episode to the light soon.

Once again thank you so much for giving me an opportunity to understand the quality of HP so that I wont ever think of buying another product from you

I agree that HP are a big cheat. My laptop Compaq Preasrio V3225 AU was replaced LCD and System board 4 times in 2 years and now again they said LCD needs replacement at a cost of 18, 000/-. Since it was not worth and I took it back from them and one of my friends repaired it with in 10 mts!!. They themselves have admitted that this series has lot of defects and we all must get together and file a case against them in court. I am now planning to do that soon and for that I have taken all the evidence from here
hi i'm from belgium and i did buy my presaio v3000 in hong kong after 6 weeks my lattop didn't start up so i called the HP serviece in Belgium they say they can do nothing for me because i bought my lapto in hong kong so i had to wait till i went back to hong kong 3 month later i was in hong kong and they fix my problem
but now i have the same like all people !!! all lights are on but no display, never again Hp

Compaq — not solved my battery problem

SIR, I have purchased my comapq laptop but its battery is not getting good backup so I deposited my laptop in service centre for 10 days but my problem is not solved yet,and warrenty is also expired during that time
my motherboard has burnt so i want to replace it.plz give the urs number and correct rate of motherboard
battery backup was too low at the time of purchase
and now the battery backup is zero
i can run my laptop only on electricity
