I had submitted my phone for repairs at R-City Ghatkopar on July 11, 2012. My complaint number is 49083. It's been over 3 months and I still haven't got my phone.
What's worst there is no communication from Croma's side. All following up with the service centers and vendors has to be done by me.
Secondly, I keep getting different responses from the team when I follow up with them.
1. I was promised my phone after one month (proof attached), however after one month I was told the parts are not available and we have ordered them.
2. Then after 1.5 months after I called to check again I was told that the parts have come you will get your phone in 2 days. I never got a call from them till I followed up.
3. Then again I was told, during testing there was a fault identified and it will take another 3-4 days to get my handset. This was end of August 2012.
4. After not getting a call when I called again, I was told that since the parts are not available I will get a replacement handset which will be worth the cost at which I purchased my handset, according to Croma's Extended Warranty Program. I was told I will be given a choice of handsets after getting approval from higher authorities.
5. And again, the response never came. When I checked, I was told it will take two days. After two days, I was told instead of a new handset I will be given a credit note worth Rs. 18,999/- which is the cost of the handset. This again had to be approved by some other authority (at least that was what was told to me).
6. When neither the confirmation for handset or credit note came, I had to inquire again. I was told that the approval was stuck with Mr. Vijay Buju who is the signing authority for TATA-AIG (who are the insurance vendors...and I don't care cause I had purchased goods from Croma Retail).
7. Again, I was told that the replacement handset will be given to me by October 2, 2012 which was the final date. This time I wasn't surprised when I didn't get anything on that day.
8. After following up since then, I was told by Mr. Sunil Dixit (Croma) that I will receive my handset finally by 11th October 2012 or else he will give me a credit note of Rs. 18,999/- by Monday, October 15, 2012.
9. Again after following up yesterday I was told I will get my original handset repaired. I feel this is a never ending cycle and has taken me back to square one. On top of it now Mr. Sunil Dixit tells me that I will not get my full amount.
10. Mr. Vijay Buju from TATA AIG abuses me on the call as if I am at fault.
Overall, I feel the EXTENDED WARRANTY PROGRAM that Croma Retail runs is a scam to get extra money from the customer. When time come to respect their service policy they backout completely. We as customers are kept running behind the backend vendors. What are we paying the extra money of Extended Warranty for???
I hope the concerned authorities take note of my complaint as mine is not the first such complaint (I discovered all this after going through various social networking sites and complaint boards)
SO OVERALL THIS SEEMS TO BE A SCAM OF TAKING EXTRA MONEY FROM CUSTOMERS!!!
