[Resolved] Delhi Jal Board — Arrears in Water Bill | |
There is a dispute in my my water bill which i need to sort out. The story is I made a payment on Date of Deposit : 24/1/2006 Branch/ ATM at which the cheque has been deposited : Corporation Bank Cheque Deposited At : Drop Box Location at which the cheque is payable : Delhi Jal Board New Delhi Cheque Number : 612460 I made a Bill payment through cheque Amt 2423 and it got cleared on 11the Feb 06 as per the bank statement. Everytime i am receiving water bills it is showing that this amount has not been paid and a surcharge of 5% is added to the original amount. I went to DJB office in Sarita Vihar and submitted original bank statement along with a letter to DJB office in Sarita Vihar which according to them has been sent to the head office but still in every bill I am receiving it is showing me that this amount has not been paid and everytime they are adding a surcharge. I will be grateful if the dispute in my bill is resolved. Was this information helpful? | |

I have still not recieved any reply/redressal to my complaint. Do I have to approach the consumer court?
My self Satey singh address - RZP - 155 Raj nagar part- ii palam cloney new delhi -110045 .I have got December month bill amount 860 /- but last bill i had paid 100 rupees so i want to ask u how can came big amount of bill beacuse many time bill amount is normaly 100 to 230 rupess this is a first time we received a big bill amount (860 ) pls do the needful and revert back shotly .

I am a resident of 55, dr. Maukerjee Nagar, Delhi. My water meter k no. is [protected] and water connection no. is 17418-K, in the name of Smt. Geli Bai. I have received Bill no. 13367 dt. 29.6.2009 for the period 28.1.2009 to 23.5.2009 for Rs. 1345.00 on adhoc basis. As per the bill Rs. 1282.00 have been charged under the category - others. They appears to be some mistake in the bill as there are only one person in the house for consumption purpose. You are requested to rectify the bill and send me a Revised Bill at the earliest. Further, most of the bills from the period 28.8.2007 to till date have been sent without taken Meter Reading and on adhoc basis. You are also requested to go through the previous bills and make required adjustments as per actual Meter Reading.

Delhi Jal Board — Receiving bills for payments on due dates of payments
Dear Sir,we received the water bills for payment on the due date of payment or very close to the due date of payament.
on 23/03/2010 we received a bill for payment with a due date of payment is 25/03/2010. On 24/03/2010 there was Government Holiday. Today i.e. on 25/03/2010 very huge line for payment and our little children are alone at home which cause inconvience to the families residing in S-Block, Vijay Vihar, Uttam Nagar.
Your honours is kindly requested to please provide us water bills at least 7 to 10 days before the due date of payment which enable us to deposit the payment without any waste of time or without cause any inconvinience.
It is also important to mention here that we received the telephone bills and electricity bills at 15 to 20 days prior to the due date of payment.
We trust this step will be taken in the best interest of public convenience.

DJB is brazenly callous about the pain and suffering of law abiding and straightforward consumer. After standing in long Q often payment not accepted by the receiving clerk because of "arrear" shown in bill although, it is mentioned if already paid ignore the arrear.
Since 2008 I am a victim of their UNACCOUNTABILITY to the public. Since 12th March 2008 when I went to DJB HQ at Varunalaya, as per direction of Hon'ble CM's grievance cell, and made full payment as demanded by them uptodate; I am getting water bills showing every payment received by them as arrears in my bill. The last bill dt.21.06.10 came showing arrear of Rs.3010/-
It is a real pity and helpless condition. DJB officials blame the contractors who enter the figures on computers. We donot know. The fact is that we suffer. Mrs. Rajam G Nair 47-B/III, Mayur vihar Ph.I

Delhi Jal Board — WATER BILLING
Dear Sir/MadamI have a water connection with DELHI JAL BOARD in the name of Mr HARISH CHANDER R/o 1959 Rani Bagh Delhi – 110034, Jal Connection No – 29470, K No – [protected]. My water meter is running very well but from the last two months I am receiving my billing “SUBJECT TO ADJUSTMENT” basis. Executive came, check and took the reading every month but we are receiving billing on adjustment basis instead of Meter Reading.
I go and talk to the personnel of MCD several times but there is not fruit full result till date. Pls take it as personal request and intervene into the matter and try to resolve the same at the earliest.

The billing system of Delhi Jal board is most outdated. They deliver bills a day before the due date not giving enough time to the customer to make payment without surcharge. Their counters for payment at Sadiq nagar in South Delhi are not up to date on using computers.

I have reecieved a bill no.171335 dated 19/11/2008 from Delhi Jal Board for my water connection no.R-87616 (Domestic -A)for the period 13/5/2008 to 25/8/2008.An amount of Rs1616/- has been added in this bill under previous due.I have always paid the all the previous bills of DJB in full & in time so what is this previous balance? Could the DJB explain it?
