HCL Computers — not working many application

I am the user of hcl computer having specification : core 2 duo, 2GB ram, nvidia 512MB graphic card, 320GBhard disk, windows xp which i brought in September 2010.I have problem is that many games and softwares are not working in my pc even same application copied from my pc works on othres dual core pc. i have quick heal antivirus which i daily updated and i also almost 3 times formated my whole pc but it does not help to run those applications such as Doom (13 MB), call of duty, c++,etc. what will i do?
