[Resolved]  HCL Technologies — Unwanted Layoff

I was asked to resign as was on bench for some time, I refused to do so. But to my surprise after some days my relieving was done without my resignation.

This is unethical and HCL Technolgoies CEO Vineet Nayar should be dragged to court, for false implication of not firing employees. Whereas they are chucking them out in heaps every month.

For those who support HCL :- You can say that attitude, work pressure etc are all individual perceptions and it does not reflect the companies actual status. But what about some extreme horrible HR rules we have in HCL ? Like when a person submits his resignation he is aksed to repay his performance bonus with is given and mentioned as part of his CTC ? Why are we holding the salary of the employee during the notice period he is ready to serve ? How would he feed his family, how would be repay his loans in this tenure ? HCL should be sued for this ! This is completely inhuman !
HCL kept my bonus by making my rating NI after resignation. I was outstanding for last three years and for year 2012-13 also, at the time of resignation, final rating was not closed, after relieving from HCL, they made my rating NI and kept my bonus amounting to Rs. 62000.

We should not work for HCL. This is the worst company I have worked with.

please do not defend HCL its the worst organization ever .. hard work and diligence is not valued sucking up to your superior and trolling is valued in the organisation.. any organization which does it always has gone down or is in a lot of internal trouble and im sorry to say in this case it is HCL due to unscrupulous managers and trolling employees ith their fake smiles.


the organization wont get far if this is the kind of setup im sorry to say hcl tech will not be getting new projects even its existing clients will leave in drones and no renew their projects.


HCL is basically not an IT company it actually does house keeping work for big international cos while paying pittance to its hard working employees .

If in case you want to go in professional suicide please go in for HCL.dont listen to the troll mr gub he is the kind of person who has is working in hcl for long always sucking up to managers and looking to survive .. this kind of people have no future and can only survive in unethical and crappy organizations like hcl .. where hardwork and talent is of no value and how much you troll and worship your managers is all that counts ..all the projects are hanging by a wire and clients only stay with hcl as they bid low and thus outbid every other competition .. with crappy employees who they hire for low salaries to do their work ... most people who stay with hcl for more than 3 or4 years are who mostly stayed there as they were unable to get a job elsewhere a.. any sane minded person would not waste their hard earned time and effort working for such a crappy organization.

HCL doesn't pay us anything...it earns a lot thru us and give us just a mere portion as salary...HCL believes in "talent hunting"...HCL hunts and haunts it's employees...really a very bad company...worst management...it's slogan "employee first" is just fake and has hidden meaning of applying all cheating method on the "employee first" without any reason...HCL=hellish Curse of Life...

I am with HCL more than 5 years but I heard many cases where people are getting fired if they are on bench and this is ridiculous. in IT, Every employee will come on bench some or other time when current project gets over and it takes time to get new project within organization. If HCL is not able to absorb in other projects then it's HCL's FAULT and not employee. Company/HCL recruit employees for project work and if they don't have work for employees then it's Company issue. On other hand they are hiring from Market on specific need basis.

I am strongly in favor to drag this company to COURT as they have no rights to play with Employee's life/Career. Raise voice against this Unethical way of firing.

Note: To my knowledge every months lots people getting fired by HCL. NO body aware of this fact because HR calls employee directly and happening at multiple locations.

Mr. Grub, i am glad that you are a watch dog and insane slave for HCL. Coming to the point, many people do not join HCL as their is no other option for them, but they joined as the company seemed to have good reputation.Many people who are very much interested in coding and have profound knowledge in various domains are coming here and becoming like numbs as they are treated very badly. For example its me, i had joined hcl in nov and by gods grace i completed 3 months training and then they threw me onto bench for 4 months, later some how by our(Freshers) force they gave us projects..and hell ya ..there the tuffest job starts. You need to sit in the office for 9hrs exactly but they won't provide you any work and daily you need to submit status report. I do not know what kind of people they are..HCL doesn't have projects and they recruit people and leave them for showcase.Nearly i have been in a project for another 3 months with no work ( Consider it as bench) .. Now the toughest challenge, they removed me from project and threw again onto bench.. I do not understand what do they think employees as. It's been 2 months now on bench .. Total bench period for me is 9 months ..WTF!! ..Now i am very glad that i am resigning this insane, sadistic company with fake reputation.
For your kind information, they are many many people who crave for getting work, and do work like donkeys day and nights..even coming to office in weekends doing work alone.. and you are saying that employees are showing attitude and will not work. Hold your tongue Mr.
More over i think this post was around 2 years back .. haha ..reviews and comments are disgusting about the company..and i can say that still the company was in same position . There is no 2% improvement also.

HCL - Is the ### Company on earth folks, Only ### licking people can survive in HCL, I think Mr, Grub is one among them, In HCL you dont have to be technically strong, Instead you should be strong in giving Blowjob to your managers .

Training - Worst in Training as they dont have proper Trainers to train you, No proper KT given for employess who join new in the project.

Job security - No Job Security at HCL - Anytime they might chuck you out - HCL has a Slogan just for name sake, " Employee first " it is not Employee first It is Employee ### first.

Career growth - No proper Career growth in HCL, Once you join at a Team lead or Tech lead role, you will be remaining in that same position forever, Unless and until you properly give blowjob to your manager and lick his ### clean and tidy.The work was not much but it was onerous, just because i don’t like doing repetitions - come to office, resolve some recurring issues, eat food, walk around, resolve some tickets again, talk to some foreigner in US accent so that he may feel comfortable with you, make a shift handover, rush for the cab, reach home and sleep. Slowly i felt the work is trying to kill me, They made me do multiple night shifts in a row. Sometimes i felt am i the only one working in whole project. How can i forget that i had an accomplishment for doing maximum night shifts in a row. 22:30 to morning 8 AM shift for 18 months straight and yet no deserving appraisal. HCL is indeed the worst paymaster, Not suitable for experienced professionals.

Salary/appraisal: Salary is the worst part in HCl, people are always paid low, There is very poor appraisal. here is no shift allowance, Always they give you Incentives in the form of peanuts, No night shift allownace, No cab allowance, Unnecessary deductions, Appraisal system is also one of the pain area. There is no defined slab that can give you a clear cut idea as what rating/point provided by management will give you how much hike in salary and designation. Most of the budget amount that is allocated for appraisal is distributed among manager and very few of his followers in project.Totally a crap organisation when comes to Salary part.

Travel - Had Zero percent of travel experience

Politics - Biggest Politics than any other Corporate It company in the world, This Company is THE BEST in playing cheap and dirty politics, If you r cornered by your manager or managment, you are done, they put all kind of reasons to chuck you out of the Organisation.HCL's "Employee first" is the biggest joke. All they care is to finish their project, and make profit. After the project gets over, no one will remember you. If you dont have project, they will say " you have to chase people and get project, otherwise resign".HR people are worse. They are almost invisible. You cant contact them, most of the time they wont reply. Even for your allowances you have to raise lots of requests and write mails.

Work environment- Work culture is also pain area here. The impractical appraisal system and high dependency on manager's feedback for appraisal creates a gap between co-workers. No proper SOPs for handling project work, no clear cut guidelines and if you will ask for KT then manager will make fun of you. Nothing like KT exists in most of the projects in HCL.. Most of the projects are for infrastructure support which somehow means RIGHT CLICKING in most of the projects. There is no new learning. People are happy with HCL only because they wish to retire from here.

In my college days, I used to be super active about events and organizing fests. All has gone in vein here in couple of years. I used to be very creative in college. HCL has almost killed it all.I try to keep up my hobbies alive after office hours, but then how long would I keep it?Do not join HCL as your first company. It sucks. It kills your all ambitions to be successful in your career.

Work-life balance:

Since the last four to five years, HCL is losing its value from top to under the bottom. Work Life Balance is basically depends on the project where you are working. In Most of the projects, Manager, HR are the very worst. Very very less hike. Japanese, Koreans, Chinese projects are hell like hell. Manager make their employees do what these client say. Bloody managers and ### HR's plays a vital role in your career. Work is not at all great. Deadlines are not properly planned. WORST like anything. If you complain about manager for his wrong activities, it will be directed to HR and vice versa. Damn irritating f kng guys. Notice period is also one of the non-sense. They won't let you go before 3 months even if you are ready to make buyout. You can learn nothing here almost all projects. I am seeing the survival of HCL employees getting worse for most. Nowadays most of the guys don't prefer to work in HCL. If you are ready to shake your hand for your manager's queries, it's enough to survive. Politics also bloody ### people. I lost my life, energy, knowledge by working in HCL. You know the Policy is "EMPLOYEE FIRST CUSTOMER SECOND". Instead, they can make it as "F 's FIRST, S 's NEXT" If organization doesn't give proper respect for employees, it never grow. Even it has grown, it can't withstand for a long. HCL should maintain "Employee Happy" in terms of all aspects, otherwise it will vanish soon. I will never and ever join into HCL for anything. HCL - Hell comes Live.
Yes HCL asks to resign 3 friends because they were on the bench. plz do not join
