I purchased a Hitachi Split A/C unit from Nutan Electronics, Dilshad Garden, Delhi in November 2010. I got it fitted in my apartment at Dwarka and the Hitachi service person who fitted the A/C forgot to seal the hole through which pipes and cables are connected from outdoor unit to indoor unit. As it was winter that time, we did not use the A/C. Also we were out of India till May 2011.
Now when the summer started and we tried to switch on the A/C, I found out to my horror that the hole that was not sealed by the service person has allowed the squirrels to come into the indoor unit. They are eating away at the black insulation material every day. I don't know what other damage they have done till now.The A/C is not switching on at all now.
I called the customer care on 15 May 2011 and registered a complaint - [protected]. They assured me that a service representative will contact me soon. I waited for 2-3 days but nobody contacted me. After that I called customer care again 2-3 times, each time they would say we have increased the priority of your complaint and somebody would call. Till now (21 May), nobody has called me.
Frustrated I called the customer care again yesterday night (20 May) and spoke to Mr. Moin (team leader) at around 8:25 pm on 20 May 2011. He again assured me that a call would be given to me by 21 May, 10 am and the problem would be fixed.
Nobody has called me again till now, it has been more than a week now.
Is this how Hitachi treats its customers??
Is this why I brought the most expensive A/C in the market?? In this scorching hot summer, I'm not able to use my A/C, which I brought trusting just the Hitachi name.
When will my problem be resolved?? When will the service engineer heed to my complaint??
I'm sorry to say but this has shaken my belief in Hitachi and I'll be very cautious in future to purchase anything of Hitachi brand. I'll also give the same advise to my friends and known ones.
