Hitachi — WINDOW AC FAULTY | |||
Hi, I purchased on 3/9/11, a 1.5 T window ac. On 15/9/12, just 12 days after expiry of 1 year warranty, the PCB broke down and had to be replaced at appx. cost of Rs. 3000/-. On 5/7/13, barely 10 months after getting it replaced, it has again broken down for which I have already registered a complaint.(request number [protected]) I was already VERY DISAPPOINTED with HITACHI product since most A/c do not need any such parts replacement even after 5-10 years of running. However in response to my complaint , representative of Area Service Center visited my as below: 1) I got a call from one Mr. Amit regarding this. I mentioned the problem to him that last time we got PCB replaced on 15/9/12 from Tirupati Services,NIT Fbad.,to whom our complaint was forwarded by Hitachi Customer Care 2) He mentioned that Tirupati Services are fraud and I should contact the GGN office going forward which he was representing 3) He visited my home on 8/7/13 and without even opening the A/c said that motor was to be replaced and appx. cost was Rs. 5000/- with 1 month warranty. When I got the same checked by local technician they mentioned that PCB was faulty and not the motor. 4) When I told him that after buying HITACHI product , why do I have to shell out huge amount every year, he mentioned that he can get this covered under AMC, but he'll charge Appx. Rs. 2000/- extra over & beyond the AMC charge of appx. Rs. 1750/- Looking at above scenario, PLEASE ADVISE WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING BEFORE I LODGE A CONSUMER CELL COMPLAINT AGAINST HITACHI FOR ASKING FOR BRIBE TO FIX MY A/C Thanks Aman Was this information helpful? | |||

Hitachi Window ACs — Both Hitachi ACs broke down within 3 months of purchase
It’s a sad and frustrating experience to me and my family when both the Hitachi 1.5 ton ACs broke down with three months of the purchase date. The first AC was taken to the service center and I had to pay Rs. 1800 for the gas refilling inspite of being within the warranty period. I was told that somebody has used drill machine on the AC while installation. I fail to understand that why should I be charged for a fault due to poor installation.Within few days the second AC broke down and now I am being told that the gas has leaked out and the machine has to be taken to the service center. Is this a common problem with Hitachi ACs? Did I make a wrong choice of trusting the most reliable and largest manufacturers of ACs?
I want a replacement for both the ACs failing which I will lodge a complaint in the consumer court. The two ACs that I bought were from Razzle Dazzle, Delhi model number RAV418ERD and serial number s 110A39908/110A37386 purchase on 26 March 2011.
