[Resolved] Hyundai Santro — Engine Overheating | |
Dear Sirs, We purchased a Santro XL in May 2007 from Modern Hyundai, Alwar, Rajasthan. The car has clocked 34500 kms till date. Last week the car started giving increased temperature indication, for which we took the car to the service centre (Modern Hyundai), where they put bottled water in the coolant chamber and told that there is no problem and we can drive normally. After a week when we gave the car for servicing, the service manager is saying that the head gasket is blown and needs replacement. Please give clarification on the following; Whether the showroom can be booked for faulty diagnosis when they simply put water in the coolant chamber? Shouldn't they have done a thorough check. I have driven more than 600 kms after their faulty advice. However the temperaure needle stayed in the normal mode Whether 35000 Kms driven and less than 2 yrs old vehicle can have a problem of this nature? Whether the changing of head gasket as suggested by Modern Hyundai is correct and whether the same is covered under warranty? Please guide as we are very disappointed with Modern Hyundai.
