[Resolved] ICICI Lombard Health Insurance — unnecessary cancellation charges | |
few days back icici lombard health insurances executive have called me and told about some health insurance policy and told that you can cancell it if you donot like but he had not told me about the cancellation charges, and when i have called them for cancellation they said you will have to pay 25% of the annual premium for cancellation of the policy, but the executive had not told about this term other wise i will not accept the policy in any case. does we have to pay the cancellation charges if we have summited the policy within 30 days of time period? i am manish patel 11 months ago i had recived a call from icici lombard & i took 1 policy for my mother that time he didnt explained me everything he told me if i dont wish to continue i can cancel it & i was asked to pay my premium as a part payment from my icici credit card i continued it till 10 months but i didnt recieved any documents or policy papers, health card till now, last month my mother was sick she was suffering from some geynic problem &she needed an operation and i called icici lombard after strugling 3 weeks they sended me a soft copies of my document but they didnt posted me original documents i took that documents to a doctor he faxed that to icici lombard in reply they said that i cant claim this operation till 2 years.after getting dissapointed i called my icici bank credit card to not to pay any further payments to icici lombard they says first i will have to visit icici lombard office personaly & give a written application or mail to customer support icici lombard & i will be charged a cancelation charge, for what not to give me a claim. i want to know whose fault it is & i want all my money back because i was not informed earlier while buying a policy still i didnt have recieved a policy documents

ICICI Credit Card and ICICI Lombard are a big cheater. They also make me fool like you. I want to complain against them in IRDA and Ministry of Finance. Can any one can help me? I also warn the people not accept any proposal of ICICI Lombard Health Insurance.
I have faced a similar problem with ICICI Lombard Health insurance. I had agreed to some telemarkeeter's call for health insurance 1 year ago. After a couple of verification calls, I was sent my policy. After a few days I got one more policy. I mistook it to be a duplicate sent to me by mistake and did not bother.
But I realised now that I had been given two policies and deduction is happeninig from two of my ICICI credit cards. On enquiry I found out that during the 2 verification calls, I had given two different card nos. unknowingly and hence deduction is happening from both my cards for the past one year. ICICI lombard has taken this as an agreement for 2 different policies and have been deducting money from both my credit cards.
On realising my mistake, I called up ICICI Lombard for cancellation of 1 policy, and they now tell me that I have to agree to the cancellation charges without which the cancellation request cannot be accepted. Since I have not agreed to cancellation cgarges, they are continuing to deduct the policy emi. This is really fraud by ICICI Lombard in the name of health policy and is unacceptable.
I am ready to forgo the amount already paid since it was my mistake in realising that I had two policies, but even then having to bear cancellation charges is unacceptable. Can I get help in this matter, please?

I PURCHASE A POLICY BY ICICI LOAMBARD LAST YEAR 11 MONTH BEFORE AND I DID TAKE A CLAIM IN THAT POLICY AND NOW AFTER A YEAR WHEN I AM TRYING TO RENEW THIS POLICY THEN ICICI LOMBARD NOT RENEWING ITS EASLY AND I THINK THEY ARE AFRAID FOR TO NEXT CLAIM ...
