Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing this formal complaint regarding a wrongful rejection of my windshield damage claim by ICICI Lombard under Policy No. 3001/[protected]/00/000 for Vehicle No. MP14CB2798, insured in the name of Mrs. Anita Jadon.
On 30 June 2025, a tractor carrying construction material hit the right side of my car, causing visible damage, including to the windshield. I filed the claim on time and provided complete information, images, and damage estimates. While ICICI approved partial damage repair, they denied the windshield claim stating the damage "does not match the cause of loss" — based solely on assumptions and without any proof or investigation.
Their claim manager also verbally admitted during a recorded call that the windshield portion was denied “on the basis of doubt, ” which clearly violates IRDAI Regulation 15 (4) that states:
> “No claim shall be repudiated by the insurer except for reasons communicated to the insured in writing and supported by relevant documents or evidence.”
I escalated the matter to IRDAI via Bima Bharosa. Despite follow-up, ICICI has not issued any clause-based explanation or valid justification, and now my rightful claim is being unfairly denied.
I request you to kindly investigate this matter and direct ICICI Lombard to:
1. Approve and settle my windshield claim as per OD policy terms.
2. Issue a written reason if rejecting, backed by physical or documentary evidence, not assumptions.
3. Consider compensation for delay and harassment caused by poor claim handling.
