I am also facing the same due to some filthy representative. Trying to resolve it else will move it to civil court for trial and compensation.
Biju sir, your approach was correct, same thing also had happened with me in 2004 where I was given bal of 150 against actual bal of 75, but in later comming months bill went increasing manifolds upto 1200 where I had not option rather than going to prepaid, prepaid mobile in India is meant to Cheat the customer & enjoy at their own dicretion. I[censored] are going for call details they are always ready after you have paid for it, but bill given to you is full & final binding. Employees are given lucrative offers to cheat common mass unknowingly which credits them as salary, incentives & bonus etc.

I took a new connection from sales executive with the number <[protected]>. But the number activated for me was different than the above. This was not at all acceptable to me as I had strictly asked for the number of my choice from the sales preson. One week follow up with the CUSTOMER CARE & the sales executive was not friutful. I had to mail the complaint to Mr. Nirmal Parekh of Idea - Mumbai & to care mumbai with necessary evidence & expressed my intrest in using the IDEA service with the condition that the number booked for me is activated. Idea people called me assuring that the wrong number activated will be deactivated and would provide me with the above number once the series is launched. But the connection was not deactivated & i recieved first bill for the service which i did not use at all. Agian i mailed to both Mr. Nirmal Parekh & Care Mumbai giving earlier mail correspondence refrence & asked them to deactivate the connection. Mr Parekh & Mr. Arvind Joshi both failed in resolving the problem as to my surprise i recieved second bill. Also the above number booked for me was alloted to some other person. These inefficient people are really spoiling the company's name in market by giving false assurances to the customers & fooling them. IDEA CELLULAR management should recruit capable & responsible people.
