[Resolved] Indane LPG Gas — Charges more for Delivery
Sir, — The Indane dealer in Urapakkam and Guduvancherry is charging Rs 30 more for delivering liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) cylinders. Those, who refuse to part with the money are abused by the personnel who deliver cylinders or face difficulty in getting the next refill. Fearing they won't get cylinders, the housewives pay whatever is demanded. Assuming that a delivery boy delivers 10 refills a day and works for 25 days a month, he may deliver 250 refills a month. Thereby he may earn Rs. 7500. The delivery boys say that they meet transportation charges from the godown at Perungalathur/Tambaram to these places from the money collected from the consumers. This sounds strange. The dealer says that he has not authorised his delivery boys to demand anything other than the cost of the refill. The consumer faces the same problem even when there is change of a delivery boy. Will the Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) authorities intervene and bring to an end to this unauthorised collection of money? Hussain Urapakkam Was this information helpful?
