[Resolved]  Indian Institute Of Science, Bangalore — Fraud & cheating by HSBC - ICICI Lombard.

As per the HSBC Credit Card Services guide, there is a purchase protection plan wherein it is mentioned that all items bought using the credit card are insured against damage or loss due to fire or theft upto a value of Rs.50, 000/- for a 180 day period from the date of purchase. As per the brochure, this insurance is provided by M/s ICICI Lombard General Insurance Compoany Ltd. and the procedure for preferring such a claim is mentioned. It is also mentioned tht the claim settlements should be made to :

I had one such claim which is within the limits prescribed both by the amount and period and i had sent it by speed post to the above address. But to my utmost surprise and shock, Ms Joshi, has refused to accept the claim and the envelope has been returned to me with the remarks by the Postal authorities ' refused'. It is really shocking that a reputed insurance company like ICICI Lombard, has no courtesy to accept the envelope and advice on the matter. It shows the arrogance of Ms Joshi and the attitude of the company towards its customers. The Insurance company is cheating the public and is indulged in fraud by their discourteous way of dealing with such claims.

If no action is taken on my claim within a reasonable time, i will be constrained to go to the Press and expose the fraud by the ICICI Lombard.
