HARASSMENT AND POOR SERVICEOn 20.06.2013 me and my wife went to IOB, Kovaipudur to obtain fresh locker and deposit Rs. 33 lacs in FD. Due to arrogant behavior of Manager, we both submitted letter and unused cheques to close SB [protected]. When the supervisor charged Rs.76 for closure, we asked him when other banks charge only for new accounts closed within one year, he told us to talk to Manager. Manager also could not explain the same. The branch notice board is not containing details of closure charges said to be introduced in 2012. Also, we were not informed by letter, press note regarding the same. At 1 pm supervisor gave us token and only to harass us he kept same pending and sent it to cashier only after cashier went for lunch. We waited in the hall alongwith gold loan borrowers who were also waiting for hours.At 2 pm the branch gave us updated pass book showing our account is closed. At 2.10 pm as cashier was making lesser amount than written in cheque, we questioned him. At this point, one lady staff came and shouted at us and manager also shouted at us. Hence we did not take payment as per the cheque. But in the evening the branch fraudulently reopened our account. Despite sending 6 mails to branch, regional office and head office , the problem is not solved. Our e mails (5) to the branch, RO, HO mentioning that we are going to Consumer Court, RBI and Ombudsaman did not have any effect on the IOB. We have sent all emails to [protected]@coisco.iobnet.co.in, [protected]@coisco.iobnet.co.in, [protected]@coisco.iobnet.co.in, [protected]@coisco.iobnet.co.in, [protected]@coisco.iobnet.co.in. Even our last request to send the amount directly to our Canara bank account ( alongwith wrongly collected charges and interest ) was not done by this branch. The Manager and staff are adamant and do not bother about our filing complaint in consumer court, RBI or Ombudsman. The video footage will clearly show that number of staff was more than number of customers in the branch. Because of poor service and arrogance and harassment , IOB Kovaipudur has lost a well wisher , about Rs.33 lacs deposits and my future help to mobilise deposits for IOB from my family and friends.
