COMPLAINT ABSTRACT

1. Misbehavoiur by catering personnel
2. Food not served till 10:30 pm
3. Avoidance in providing Complaint Register
4. Train Superintendent attending after around 2:30 hrs after first reporting of complaint

This refers to my complaint while travelling in Rajdhani Express Train No,. 12309 on 24th May 2011 in Coach No. BE1 Berth No. 64 vide PNR No. [protected]. The ticket was booked vide irctc e-ticketing service on[protected].No action has been taken as yet although I had lodged a written complaint to the Train Superintendent vide serial no. 48045 during journey at around 9:30 pm somewhere before Mughalsarai Railway Station.
I had boarded the train at around 7:15 pm at Patna Jn. and the train had left for New Delhi on right time. Since fooding cost is included in the cost of ticket, I did not carry my own food with. It would not be out of place to mention that I am a diabetic patient (Insulin dependent) since last more than ten years.
As per irctc programme, soup was served at around 8:00 pm and expecting that food would be served soon, I took Insulin injection which has been prescribed by my physician to be taken around half an hour before lunchdinner. Having waited and requested the catering personnel, It was ridiculous on part of the caterers that I and some more passengers in the coach, were not served food for around one and half hours. I had one toffee with me which I did take after half an later after taking insulin but my health started deteriorating soon and around 9:30 I was unable to even speak properly and was in a semi unconscious state.. Having no other option left with me since the catering personnel specially one of them namely ASHISH whom I requested to look for a doctor amongst the passengers showed their helplessness and one of them who pretending to be a journalist and travelling as a passenger in Coach BE2 Seat No.6 as told by him, even accused me of creating a scene inside the coach (I am very sure that the person hopefully named LUTHRA had been provided accommodation unauthorisedly by the catering personnel and he did not seem to be a valid passenger) I any how called one of my friends who happens to be I.G. RPF at Allahabad, who took initiative to get Glucose and food for me at Mughal Sarai Railway Station after which I could regain consciousness. Thereafter, at the initiative of Mr. C.S.Ray I.G. RPF, a lady doctor investigated me in the train itself and requested that either I be admitted at Railway Hospital there itself for further treatment or continue if at all I was feeling better. I was provided with a packet of Glucose even by them. Since it was necessary for me reach New Delhi on the 25th itself, I myself decided to continue with my journey to New Delhi.
This happens to be my worst ever experience(s) of Railway journey and through this complaint I would request the Railways to ask the passengers to carry their own fooding during journey in Rajdhani Train even since the irctc services cannot be relied upon and it is now getting bad to worse.
I would also call upon the railway authorities to compensate for the food to the people who provided food and glucose to me at their own cost and to me even for the mental harassment and physical harm caused due to the negligence. I also recommend strict action against the responsible persons
