Indian Speed Post — Item not delivered and lost in transit

I booked a package item(Mobile phone) through India Speed Post tracking number EP[protected]IN which was to be shipped to Kundapura, UDUPI Distt. Karnataka. I sent it on 7 March 2011. While tracking the status online on 12 March, i noticed that the transit is still showing it to be in Bangalore and the status was stuck on 9 March 2011, and it is still the same even today. I called up the Bangalore post office to ask if they could help but they simply refuse saying that the mobile phones are not to be sent through Speed Post, if thats the case, why did they accept it while booking.

Moreover, they said you will get double the money back of what you paid for the Booking of Speed post. Phone was not too costly but it was still worth 1400 and they charged me 80 rupees for shipping.

What do i need to do against this to claim my value for the lost phone.

FLORENCE — PARCEL LOST INTRANSIT

DEAR SIR,
I wish to bring your notice the fact that a certain parcel we have sent a courier from Roorkee (Uttrakhand) to Silvassa consignment no RRK221349 dated as on 25thfeb 09. And still we have not received the courier.
When the parcel did not received at our address we contacted Silvassa professional courier office and ask for our courier there we came to know that the courier is delivered to some other person at Silvassa and they have not even recorded his contact number. This kind of behavior is highly irresponsible from UN(PROFESSIONAL) courier service. Action should be definitely taken against this Silvassa branch office. The parcel contains certain valuable documents and articles which I badly need.
I request to make prompt inquiries and pursue the matter with utmost urgency. The parcel contains amongst other things documents regarding quotation and list of raw materials, way bills and consignment numbers. I have contacted to head office their I spoke to a lady and she replied that we cannot take your complaint and gave us customer care number, when I call its customer care number nobody picked my call and I called four to five times but no reply Then I again contacted at head office and ask for the same then the lady again gave me another no I called twice but nobody has given me reply
I think either all the phone lines are just for the name sake. It is very unpleasant thing from a courier whose name is professional and showing unprofessional. It would be better for them to change its name so that no one can book their consignment by trusting its name.
Almost 20days has elapsed since the parcel was dispatched so please avoid delay and do the needful on urgent basis
I hope you will do the needful and let me know the fate of the parcel at your earliest.
