[Resolved]  Irctc — Not able to cancel E ticket 12 hours before time of departure from originating station

Hello,
I booked an E-Ticket from Alwaye to Yeshwantpur on 5th September 2009 on train number 2258 PNR number [protected]. The ticket was confirmed at the time of booking. The scheduled departure of the train form the originating station is 20.00 hrs and time of boarding from alwaye station is 00.30 hrs on 6th sept.

When i tried to cancel the ticket at 0800 hrs on 5th september, which is 12 hours before time of departure, to my horror, the site says that the chart is already prepared and that I cannot cancel my ticket. I called the customer care and got to know that the chart was prepared overnight for this train, which means that the CHART WAS PREPARED 24 HRS BEFORE THE SCHEDULED DEPARTURE TIME FROM ORIGINATING STATION. The IRCTC website clearly says that the chart is prepared 4 hours before time of departure, and in case the departure time is before 12 noon, chart is prepared overnight, which is not the case here.

I have attached the screenshots which explains my situation

Hence I would appretiate an explanation from the Indian railways for this and expect a 75% refund for my ticket as quoted in the e ticket cancellation procedure below.
"If a confirmed ticket is cancelled within 24 hrs and upto 4 hours before the scheduled departure of the train, cancellation charges shall be 25% of the fare subject to the minimum flat rate mentioned in the above clause"

I came to konw only after the IRCTC web site informed me that this can not be cancelled. If it is so, at the time of booking itself this fact should have been brought to notice. Only after loosing money we realised that.
i m booked the tatkal ticket from e-ticket. i booked the ticket for 4 march instead of 6 march it possible there should be chance of cancellation after 48 hours. if possibilities occurs plz guide me properly.

IRCTC — Cancellation of e-ticket before 12 hrs

Sir,

I had booked a ticket as Waiting List. The train time is 11AM the next day. I tried to cancel the ticket 8:00 PM the previous day. To my surprise, I got the message that it is not possible to cancel e-tickets once the chart is prepared. I was in the impression that chart is prepared 4 hrs before the train journey time.
Iam attaching the screen shots of the details I got.
I kindly request to refund the ticket charges due to inconvenience caused to the customer.

We should be allowed to cancel the ticket before 12 hrs.
