[Resolved] Irctc — allotment of berths in second AC
Booking second AC tickets through IRCTC is fine. But every time when we book, ( a group of 3 with senior citizens), we end up ahving only one side-lower and rest upper berths. Though we book months in advance, the berths in Kacheguda Bangalore express is always not available. But RAC booking passengers get nice lower berths. This ahp happened several times. Looks like the reserved quota for VIPs and railway staff take up most of the berths. And once it is released just before the departure , the lower berths are allotted to late comers(RACs). This causes much heartburn. Why can't we have " option for lower berths , if available" too? Why cant the government quota be allotted in Upper berths, so as not to inconvenience the paying public and senior citizens? Was this information helpful?
