IRCTC — Wrong information

Its proud to have the online ticket booking services in our country in this era of technolgy.

On last 22-Aug-2011 during my E-ticktet booking with IRCTC in Porbandar-Howrah Express , from Porbandar to Ahmedabad,i have online booked 4 tickets after checking the convinient times of train ( 06:20 DEP from Porbandar and 15:15 ARV at Ahmedabad).

I was clearly debited the sum of 758 Rs. and also alloted the E-Ticket. But when i reach the station at morning 06:20 on my journey date ( i.e. 24-Aug-2011) i was asked that the there is no any train on this time. Porbandar-Howrah will depart from porbandar today but at 15:30. Also i was shouted upon and asked to call before booking the E-tickets.

I had 2 senior citizens and a 2 years old child for whom it was trouble getting the other mode of transportation in festival seasion. Also one of the member booked in the ticket had to travel by bus with no seat due to emergency work.

This is really not fair. Even as on date if you open up the IRCTC website, its showing the wrong times and displays 06:20 DEP from porbandar for Porbandar-Howrah express and even on E-ticket , i got he same time which is the proof with me.

Need strong actions on such non sense things.

It does not make me feel any proud considering what THEY offering us for what we are paying to THEM.

IRCTC — IRCTC website has wrong information

I have an issue that happened with Indian Railways (IR) last week and I wanted your advice on how to proceed on this issue.

1. I had a confirmed ticket in a train which starts from Yashwantpur going to Palghat in train 6527 which departs at 8PM from Yashwantpur.

2. As per the online website of Indian railways, the scheduled stop also includes Banaswadi where as per the website it was 9PM.

3. Yesterday morning I had called 139 also and they reconfirmed that there is a scheduled stop and I can board the train from banaswadi.

4. As that stop was convenient for me, I decided to take the train from Banaswadi.

5. This evening when I reached the station at 8.30PM, I was told by the duty station master that the train does not stop in this station.

6. The station master confirmed that he is aware of this issue and said that it is the railway HQ that has erred.

7. In spite of requesting him to stop the train for the scheduled one minute, he disallowed our request saying that is not possible.

My grandmother had passed away last week and I was going there to perform the last rites & due to this negligence of IR, i had to undergo trauma and mental agony. Now, I would want to take up this matter legally mainly to stop IR from providing such wrong information to the passengers and spoiling the country’s image. What do you recommend that I do?

sir the information provided by irctc/indian railway esquire is not updated as per the actual information.
today at around 9.15 am when i asked about train no.12810(mumbai mail) it showed to be arrived at 10.31 am.

this status remained till 10.10am.

but when i reached the station at around 9.50 am there it was already showing that the train is late by 9.30hrs & will arrive at around 11.40.
not only this even i had inquired at 139.
it also told that the train will arrive at 10.31 am.
sir the website is showing that it is updated regularly but actually it is providing the wrong information.
sir due this wrong information i had to unnecessary wait in the station for 2 hrs.

but by right to information i should always be provided correct information.
sir i request you to take action against the authority so that in future it can be avoided.
We had no option left except for waiting 9 hours to catch the train and these all due to
IRCTC making such a stupid mistakes and no one is made responsibel or blaimed for any kind of
mistakes in Indian Government. We except that it could be late in arrival and departure of trains operating in india with such a large network and huge population, however they atlease can provide the right
informations to the customers. This is our right to get good services from governmnet as we are paying the handsome amount of money in form of TAXes.
Train12071 AsperHelpline 139train was to depart at 15:35on 23Aug2011. I had rechecked the information on website. I reached CST and was shocked to find that the train had gone in time. I missed the train and had to rebook a ticket as I had to reach Aurangabad on same day on official duty. I went through lot of mental agony, stress. It cost me money, time and along with all luggage had to run from pillar to post for rebooking my ticket. I had to go thro’a lot of ordeal for making the most genuine complaint to the Station Master who was unavailable in office. AnotherOfficial not concerned with the complaint had the audacity to ask me if I had recorded the message. I never imagined that Railways Computer Automated systems are so badly managed. Does any body in the Railway bother about this? In my case I seek full Refund of money Rs.440 PNR 8546365973 +amount paid for the next train Rs.650 ascompensation by 9th September 2011 failing which I will be forced to escalate my compliant to other Consumer Forums
Dear Sir,
I am register a railway registration foam. register successful and user ID, mobile verification code is received my mobile.confirmation mail and password not what can i do.
