Irctc — Tatkal ticket cancellation flat 25% refund only | |||
Hi, This a total nonsense giving only 25% flat refund for cancelling the tatkal ticket.. I have booked a ticket (tatkal) - Rs.708/- and then i had to cancel for which they will refund me only Rs.120/-.. This looks like cheating/looting a person... Why should railway hold such kind of policy to loot a common man Was this information helpful? | |||

Well, it seems as if it happened in total unawareness. IRCTC has a set of rules of refund amount after cancellation of tickets of different class and quota. You should have gone through these rules before making tatkal tickets. Rule is: if you cancel your confirm tatkal ticket 24 hrs before the schedule departure of the train then you will get a refund of 25% of base fare else ZERO refund. These rules may have been implemented to restricting the people for booking unnecessary tatkal tickets.
