Irish lottery — email claiming lottery

hi,
I am Sujatha Karkera, I received a email from
irish claims <[protected]@hotmail.com. on 25/05/10.

that I had won a lottery of 700,000GBP.
to claim it i had to send my details.
today , 28/05/10, i received a call from them, Mr.Mike saying i will have to deposit Rs.36,000 to the
current account

to prove his identity he has send me a copy of his passport which i am attaching here.

kindly look into the matter and please take the necessary action .

These are misleading messages being sent to customers of various Banks stating that funds need to be credited to their account with respect to some lottery / inheritance / job offers / international funds transfer.
