Karbonn K10 — Very bad Service Centers

I had purchased a Karbonn K10 mobile phone, from 3G Mobile world Calicut on 05.03.2010, with 1 year Warranty, vide bill no 3482. I was transfered to Thrissur with work, and during November, the handset stopped working completely. The complaint was overheating of the batteries when kept on charge, and when it was released from charge, it turned off by draining its batteries by itself within 5 minutes. I showed it to a Karbonn Authorised Service Center, named Global Service Point, at P.O Road. they told me to change the batteries. But they gave me an used battery, which they said was new, and charged me 450/- (Four Hundred and Fifty) INR. The phone still did not work.
Later during December, when I came back to my hometown in Trivandrum, I showed the handset to M/s Minnus Mobile, another Service Center at Trivandrum. this time, they kept the phone with them for 1 week, and told me to call and update on its service. The phone number they gave me rang all the time, but no one picked up the phone. Finally, after 1 week, on 23.12.2010, I went personally to collect it. To my surprise, they were telling me that they have changed the software, and all the data, and phonebook entries stored inside the phone is erased. When I asked the reason why, they couldnt give me a authentic answer as to why they didnt take a back up. Moreover, they were telling me to give the phone to them, and enquire after 3 weeks regarding the status. They were telling me that the board itself needs to be changed, and they dont know whether the same is available, and couldnt gurantee whether the phone will work well...!
I opted to buy an Indian brand, because when people like me think about buying an Indian phone, it in return, helps a native company to grow. If the majority of the handsets crash within 1 year of its purchase, I definitely feel it is a waste of my hard earned money, and the Company itself is not bothered about its customers. I believe it must be a similar scenario with other consumers as well, who has variants of the same product. We are forced to think about supporting foreign company brands which are long lasting, and Great Service.
The Brand, or the Services is cheating its customers no end. Even when I was collecting my mobile back from the Service Center, there were around 5 odd people wanting to get back the phone, because they were fed up with the way the Service Centre has treated them. There should be some control to stop such behaviour, and stop cheating the customers.
Please consider this mail as a complaint, and stop such nonsenses happening here after.
Thanks and Regards
Presanth
