[Resolved]  Kotak Mahindra Life Insurance — Fraudulent representation made by Kotak Mahindra Bank Limited, East Street branch Pune.

Dear Sir,

I am writing this with great hope that you will seriously take action for resolution of the below mentioned issue and and will bring back my trust on Kotak mahindra.



On 23rd of August 2008, an employee of Kotak Mahindra Bank Mr. Basavraj Ghodake working with East Street pune branch approached me and sold a Unit Linked Life insurance policy bearing policy no. 01184941 under plan Kotak smart advantage in which I was supposed to pay monthly premium of Rs 3000/-. It was clearly explained by the employee that investment horizon is for 3 years on which it was clearly made understood and committed by the employee that I will be able to withdraw the 96% of the investment amount+returns after completion of 3 policy years where minimum 10% per annum returns would be guarranted even in worst scenario.



After receiving the policy document I found some diffuculty to understand the withdrawal options and a false signature of mine was made on the Illustration of the policy document. I approached the Bank representative Bhasavraj Ghodke who sold me the policy and he explained me the same thing once again and assured me that everything is going as per the commitment.



After few months when I made a call to Customer care for knowing the fund value, customer care told me that my first year premium had gone into the debt fund, hence no fund value exist and in case of withdrawal after 3 years my first year premium amount i.e 36000/- will be forfeited and I would be paid only 94% of the fund value of my 2 years premium. After knowing this I approached the Kotak Mahindra East street branch on 18th April 2009 where I met Ms. Angita, an employee of Kotak Mahindra Life insurance who assured me that there is nothing to worry about and advised me to submit the policy document along with a letter to decrease the premium paying term to 3 years before completion of policy anniversary.



I submitted the application with original policy document with Ms. Angita on 25th of August but again when on 15th sep 2009 when I approached her she had given the fact that she was helpless then because company had amended their policy and hence they can’t change my premium term, If she would have told me at that time only I would have stopped paying the premium.



In this way Employees of Insurance & banking giant like Kotak Mahindra had trapped me in rigmarole and foolished me in every possible manner.



Hence, you are requested to take action against them for Breach of trust, misrepresentation and fraud for making my fake signature and compensate me with amount invested with minimum returns of 20% and expenses incurred on recovery else I would be forced to knock the door of consumer forum and highlight the matter to media which may tarnish the image of bank.
