[Resolved]  Lic Growth Fund Market Plus Plan — lock in period

i have a lic growth fun market plus plan (T.no. 181). i had purchased the plan on 05/08/2008. as per the terms & conditions of the policy lock in period is 3 years, it is also written in the back side of the policy. now, i want to surrender my policy and the employees of the lic said that the lock in period is changed and now it is 5 years. and if you the policy before lock in period (5 years). you have to pay Rs.500/- as surrender charges..

so kindly please tell me what is my lock in period as in my policy documents it is written 3 years.. whether 5 years of lock in period applicable to my policy also as i purchased it before the applicability of new lock in period. whether 5 years applicable retrospectively?
